I’m sorry for the problems you’ve been having. I’d recommend looking for a “Holistic” or “Biological” dentist. They would be more likely to use microscopy or saliva DNA testing and offer a more comprehensive, full body based approach to periodontal disease. Try the “Find a Dentist” section at iaomt.org, the website for the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology.

Dr. Rubin, I'm 47 and have genetical gum problems (everyone in my family had periodontal disease and issues since very young). I've been to dentist very often and I've seen many of them. I just found out about waterpik on my own... imagine! None of the dentists ever checked my plaque, never mentioned waterpik, and so on. How can I find somebody like you that will actually tell me what bacteria I have under the gums and what to do about it - I have 5 pockets of 6-10mm depth that I cannot get rid of. When I go to the dentist they literally kill me by going so aggressively under the gum, destroying the tissue so the oxygen goes in and kills bacteria (that's what they tell me). It hurts badly and I have a bad feeling about them going so aggressively on the body...
I visited three dentists, the first one was a joke, the second cared only about how much money he can get from me, the third didn't really help but told me that I have a 7mm pocket in the back, I started to have jaw pain and even neck pain, and I was scheduled for a deep cleaning. so I saw the first dentist in November, then the second dentist in January and the third dentist in March, they kept telling me that I don't have a problem and wasting my time until I started to have jaw pain and neck pain so I decided to go directly to a periodontist to get his opinion, he said that I didnt need a deep cleaning and that I had no plaque. I was losing my mind, I found myself spending money on these dental visits for nothing. then I decided to look for natural oral health remedies, I found a RU-vid channel called "Break the snow", it belongs to an Indian man who shows remedies from Ayurvedic medicine, I watched those oral health videos and started to make some changes, first thing to do is to stay away from sugar, alcohol, Soda and highly processed food the do the following: -Make a mouth rinse with Himalayan salt and warm water and rinse your mouth. -then take a full spoon of coconut oil, add few drops of clove essential oil and swish it for about 20 minutes then spit it out. -then make a turmeric paste, using some organic turmeric mixed with filtered water and apply it on your gums and teeth leave it for 5 minutes then spit it out. The real organic turmeric won't stain your teeth ,only the fake one that sells in some grocery stores will because it has added chemicals and artificial colorants, I bought mine from amazon and it came from India. Do this everyday morning and night, wait for few minutes then brush your teeth, use a soft brush. Also use Wheatgrass powder it reduces the pockets depth, take half a teaspoon mixed it with filtered water and swish it for at least 10minutes. do it everyday. When I started to do oil pulling, use turmeric paste and swish with wheatgrass, my gum became pink, it looks healthy, the neck pain and jaw pain were gone, and teeth became whiter. Problem solved with simple natural ingredients, a jar of coconut oil cost me $8, a set of 6 essential oils cost me $13, organic turmeric from amazon cost me $7, and a small container of wheatgrass powder made in India from amazon cost me $4 for a total of: $32. my problem was solved with $32 of natural ingredients after spending $1100 going from dentist to dentist for consultations and having to listen to their nonsense. one said I had a cavity, the other said no you don't have a cavity, one told me about a root canal that I didnt need, one told me that I needed a deep cleaning which costs $1040, the periodontist told me that I did not need a deep cleaning. it was a headache. Many people used wheatgrass and their pockets' depth decreased tremendously. I saw results on day 14 of oil pulling. The American dental association does not approve of oil pulling because they claimed that there isn't even evidence and research, but trust me it works, Indians have been doing it for centuries and their oral health was excellent. imagine if everyone followed this remedies there will be less people going to dentists, less people buying those products with harsh chemicals and revenues will go down, they don't want people to know, there have been researches done in many countries about oil pulling and confirmed that it works. one more thing ,don't brush after each meal, use water pick after eating and rinse with pink salt to kill bacteria, only brush twice a day maximum , once in the morning and once at night.

Hello Dr. Trivedi. The answer to your question is not quick or simple. You'd need to invest in a phase contrast microscope (preferably with video connectivity), materials to make slides, and training in how to do this process. Where are you located? Some guy wanted to kiss me they were like in their 60s or 70s. They talked very close to my face and there breath snells nasty the whole entire body smells dirty. I definitely did not smell like they brush there teeth.
