The application cycle is here! I recently teamed up with the team at DATBooster, one of the leading resources for the DAT to bring you this video! Enjoy and best of luck! :)
ayyy strong work dude . def not easy to sit down , plan, and execute educational/informative content. kudos to you for helping prospective students jack !
Dude this is so helpful! Screw medical school, I am using these tips ASAP! Also, in Canada, we call it the "Dhat" instead of "D.A.T" so that was interesting to see haha
Thank you for making this video, it was really helpful! For the license portion, is that to verify where you live? Cause I’m planning on applying to dental school next year and I live in two different states throughout the year, so I was wondering if in the license section you could put two IDs.
thank you so much for this video!!!! I honestly feel a bit behind, since I still haven't submitted my app ): But, would you happen to know if having a CPR certificate would be considered a license? Also, can you submit your app for the schools that do not require a secondary app first, and then submit ones that do have secondary apps afterwards?
Hi, would it be possible to retake DAT after you submitted your Application? If I put a tentative date in August for my DAT, would I still be able to submit the application? And would that delay the rolling admission process?
Thanks so much for the vid I will be applying next year ! Couple questions…. 1. My school only does letter grades and no + or - on the transcript. Do I enter it in exactly as it is on my transcript? Or try to get the percentages verified some how. 2. Is there any verification needed for the shadowing/volunteering hours ?
Your welcome! 1.Just enter it how it is on your transcript! 2. Nope but you do have to give the contact of the person so they could contact them if they wanted!
Thank you for this video!! I have a quick question about the colleges attended and the transcript entry portion. I took dual enrollment classes in high school with 4 different universities (through my high school program) and am currently attending a university. I have taken all my classes at one university and never technically attended ones I took my dual enrollment classes in. Do I still report them as institutions I attended? And do I list them as transfer credits under my freshman year of fall semester?
You have a pretty complicated question! I would say to report it but also please check with what your councilor thinks is best! They are the professionals!
This video was very concises and helpful! Thank you. Did you put your CPR/AED license? I am also an EMT and uploaded that license but should I also add my AHA cert for CPR?
Thank you!!! I am applying next cycle, I am wondering if it is necessary to find someone in the field/programs that could help me prepare for the interviews and read through my ps.
Hi hope you are doing good I just watched your video and I have one question for you if you could help me.For transcripts do you have to mention all the classes or only the classes that are required for that application as for examples I have to apply for dental hygiene so only the prerequisites
Have u ever self doubted yourself, I want to become a dentist so bad and I am a terrible student in school but if I feel like if I put my mind to it and work hard and study I can do it , I’m at my second year in college now and I am going into dentistry and scared for all the hard classes any tips?
Hey Sam, I self doubted myself all the time!! As long as you know what you have to do, you do what you have to do, and as you said yourself, work hard, Everything should fall into place! :)
great video thank you! i have a question. how soon can you start applying? or post the application. you mentioned june is the start date. can you apply before that? or can post after june starts?
When putting in the transcripts and if I attended a u universities for two semesters. Do I put from August 2022, to January 2023 or the last month of that I attended until for the second semester? So would it be August to Jan 2023 OR August to April 2023
Kinda worried that I don’t have enough dentistry related experiences, other than maybe photography and painting. I’m applying in a few months, is there anything you’d definitely recommend adding/doing before hand? This video was super helpful btw!✨
Hey Jenna thats a great start! I actually would recommend applying as early as you can! I recommend to continue with what you already have going on because admissions like to see consistency and then go to online dental events. You can find many of them on IG. In terms of other regular EC, check out my EC video and hopefully you can pull inspiration from that! :)
I plan to take DAT a second time to improve my score but would like to cancel this planned test if I am not fully prepared for it. Is there a provision in application that I can indicate the DAT test I want to take in future but also able to remove it , if I don't take it? Thanks
Hey man, i’m currently a sophomore going into junior year and I have a couple of questions if you dont mind me asking When did you start preparing for the DAT? Was it during your undergrad or did you take a gap year? Also did you apply to your dental school before or after taking the DAT? What did you use to study for the DAT? Was the DAT really that hard? What did you major in during your undergrad career? Also, what do you think made you qualified on your dental school application? Im so nervous and self doubt kills me sometimes Thank you
Summer after Sophomore year! After DATBootcamp, depends on the person! Biochemistry and molecular biology Hmm check out my extracurricular activities video because I think it was my ECs! Keep believing in yourself man, if you want it then just be patient and do what you need to do! :)
@@jackhansmiles hey jack how early can I start dental school application. Is it possible to start it sophomore and finish it by junior year and submit that summer? Or is it only the year you are applying for
Hi Jack, I applied 2021-2022 cycle but submitted it late. I am planning to re-apply 2022-2023 cycle and ill be ready to apply early this time. As a reapplicant, do you recommend applying by transferring previous application or start a new fresh application?
I’m literally dying reading different criteria for dental hygiene programs. I feel like my eyes 👀 are gonna bleed 🩸. My grades aren’t all that great and I’m struggling with personal statement. Watch your videos helped a lot especially my poor eyes. Great info for us applicants 👍👍👍
Hi, would it be possible to retake DAT after you submitted your Application? If I put a tentative date in August for my DAT, would I still be able to submit the application? And would that delay the rolling admission process?
Hi Tina, if you already submitted and they look at your application they will see both your first DAT score as well as you planning to take another one! They could accept, deny, or put you on hold depending on the school!
