Broncos fans and media have brain worms that delude them into believing they're a playoff contender every season. One or two national people say something nice, like cowherd calling drew lock a dark horse MVP candidate and they lose their minds.... Completely forgetting about all the great teams they have to be at to make the playoffs. This is a rebuilding year and ending it with a top 10 pic is probably best long term.

I definitely should care less than I do but I think it does matter. I moved from Denver 3 years ago- I’m living in MI now and all my colleagues only know what national media tells them- so they say real uninformed things about how “bad” we are. Also, just looking at how it impacts morale in Denver of the fan base is a bummer! Obviously it doesn’t impact the play on the field but it feels like it discourages fans and when it’s so inaccurate it really bugs me!

@@SportsTalkDenver Eh...the fact is we HAVE been bad. Bill Parcells said you are what your record says you are. So over the last 8 years, yes...we have been bad. We have hope that this is now changing, but there is no reason for the press to have said much that is positive over the last 8 years up till now. Why would they? Ben...I have been a diehard fan of the Broncos since 1969. That is 15 years before Pat Bowlen bought the team. I saw some teams that were far worse than anything we've seen in the last 8 years. Do you know what the moral of the fan base was like during the worst losing periods of the team's history??? It was the best in the NFL. Fans don't have low moral because of what the press says. They have low moral because they've been told they are entitled to win every year & anything else does not deserve their support. I hate to tell you this, but the Broncos used to have the best fan base in the entire NFL. That's why every game was sold out even when the team was terrible. That is no longer the case. The attitude of this fan base began to slip when they built the new stadium. It's no longer what it used to be. The media had nothing to do with that.
