I had no idea this movie was going to be this emotional. The bond between Casey and the little girl was just lovely to watch. Such a great acting. That ending was tough but so meaningful. Thanks for watching with me😊I'd love to hear your thoughts, recommendations, and absolutely anything you're feeling about the movie and the reaction in the comments✨✨ . Let's try to get this video to 1,000 likes. Helps me and the Channel a lot. Gracias🙏🏾
this is the first movie i watched as a child where the “good guy” doesn’t live. and i was emotionally DEVASTATED. i remember feeling the weight of how unfair the situation was. i kept thinking there was no way he would die. i’ll never forget my dad pausing it as the credits rolled to ask me what i thought….my eyes immediately flooded 😭😭😭😭 i spent the next hour crying over my Creasy bear 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Denzel Washington is by far my favorite actor. Every movie he’s ever done is fantastic. From The Pelican Brief to The Equalizer. He’s also a great person in real life.
Absolutely. I'm glad there's so many of his movies that are yet to watch. It makes me excited. But I do know that he's a great man in real life and he's amazing
Dakota is indeed a great actor since very very little. And from what I remember she said her parents let her pick the scripts she was interested in, too. She has a lot of very intense movies under her belt.
Man, as a filmmaker and lover of cinema, your reaction channel is one of my favorites. You choose some GREAT movies to watch and it's a joy to see you enjoy some of my fav films for the first time.
One of my favorite movies of all time. I remember watching this with my best friend in middle school and just sobbing at the end. Love your genuine reactions and personality! I can honestly feel your empathy through your reactions and it’s refreshing. You’re a true empath which is rare these days
Much love to you. Thanks for your kind words. I love that watching these movies can take you back and feel those emotions you felt in Middle School. Appreciate you
Well, if you're watching Denzel movies, I think you HAVE TO watch Glory. It is one of his finest performances. Also, a true story and a history lesson all at once. This movie is a masterpiece. Denzel is just The Man. And Dakota is one of the finest child actors ever. She is grown now, but her depth is soo impressive. I Am Sam is another great movie with Dakota opposite Sean Penn. To expand on why I find the end so touching....at the beginning when he's meeting with his friend, he tells him people like them don't go to heaven. But, at the end, he tells Pita he's going home, too. He earned his spot in heaven by saving Pita. Knowing that she was safe, all the things he did were justified and he is redeemed.
This is why I love seeing your reactions to movies. Even when you choose an action movie to watch, you pick one with deep emotions. Man on Fire proves you can have an action film with all the great badass moments we as viewers want and hope for AND also be full of real heartfelt moments. As always, thanks for sharing your great insights!
You are so right, the movie does both so well. I should find more action movies with heartfelt emotional moments like these. I appreciate it. Thanks for watching. I'll catch you in another video
I've taken the liberty of going through his filmography to make a list of his best and most important movies. I'm old and know them all, so maybe this can be helpful for you instead of watching 62 of his movies lol. In order of release: Cry Freedom ***Glory Mo Better Blues ***Malcolm X ***The Pelican Brief ***Philadelphia Crimson Tide Courage Under Fire The Bone Collector ***The Hurricane (you should watch next, a true story) Remember the Titans ***Training Day John Q ***Man on Fire ***The Manchurian Candidate ***American Gangster ***Flight Roman J Israel And all 3 Equalizer movies are a MUST. The ones with the *** in front of the title are the ones I think would be best for your channel. I left in ones you have seen so you can have the pleasure scratching a couple off the list 😊 This may be a good resource for your upcoming polls. But definitely watch The Hurricane. It's a crazy true story.
IMO this is Denzel's & Dakota's best ever performance. The scene when Creasy is a broke man tries to kill himself, the gun doesn't fire and this completely broken man looks up from the rain and sees Pita watching over him like a Guardian Angel. When then he realizes he's supposed to be protecting he, and she's the one saving him is EPIC. What a turn of events. One of my favorite scenes in movie history. Thanks for playing and reviewing this fantastic movie.
Great reaction. I'm looking forward to your reaction to the other movie Denzel made where he will go to any length necessary to protect a child - "John Q" from 2002.
I appreciate you. But I considered that a little bit of a spoiler because I love going into these movies 100% blind and not having any preconceived ideas about the movie. I think that makes for a better reaction from me. Maria's joint Q is absolutely one of the higher Denzel movies on my list
I mentioned in the Live that this is a remake. The original was good in its own right, but this one is just next level in every respect. From the camera work and sound all the way to the soundtrack and casting, it's just an amazing film.
The original with Scott Glenn was great, but indeed, this is better. I wish they'd actually shot the alternative ending and included it as a DVD extra. The extreme ending where Denzel would have hidden a bomb inside himself and detonated it when he came face to face with "The Voice".
He realized the reason the gun didn’t fire when he tried to off himself was him being destined to save her. Denzel is my favorite actor and his movie “Book of Eli” is my favorite from him. So good!
I like your perspective on why the gun did not fire. He's so so good. I saw the Book of Eli when I was a kid I can't remember much about it. Maybe I'll do a reaction to it sometime in the future
My favourite Denzel movie is “Deja Vue”. It also has Val Kilmer, which is a treat. The premise behind it is a little unusual, I think you would enjoy it. Love little Dakota Fanning in this. Great reaction! ❤🎉
This is such a great movie. It was a pleasure to experience it again so many years later with you. If you keep watching Denzel, don't miss John Q. Great acting across the board.
The girl, Peta, is an incredible actress! You should check her out with Sean Penn in the movie, I am Sam. Also, opposite Tom Cruuse on the movie War of the Worlds.
They spent so much time on building the relationship between Pita and Creasey it makes it even more painful when she is taken. Great movie 😊 I enjoyed watching your reaction. This is the first video I’ve seen of yours. I see you reacted to A Quiet Place which I’m gonna watch now 😊 I hope you do the sequel as well it is very good.
You are absolutely right. Their bond was so strong that I knew he was going to send them all to hell when they took her. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for stumbling upon my channel. Please enjoy a quiet place reaction. Great morning. Take care
“This man is eating more bullets than 50 Cent.” lol Glad you enjoy this one. A few people have left a list of great Denzel movies. Can’t go wrong with any pick. My favourites, as well as this one, The Equalizer, The Hurricane and Glory (these last two based on true stories). And yes, Dakota Fanning is an amazing actor in her own right.
Great movie. I had only seen a few of his movies prior to this one, but this one sold me on him. Even to this day, the last part of the movie is a tough watch knowing what he was sacrificing. Washington did a phenomenal job in this movie.
Every single freaking movie is amazing with Denzel, I just love this man, super talented actor❤ Dakota scream at the end hit right in my heart ☹️ She is so cute and smart in this movie. There is amazing tv show with her called The Alienist, highly recommend 😊 P. S I would love watch The Last of us tv series with you, love the game as well😊
He is the best. Everything about that end and it was just painful but beautiful. The alienist? I've never heard about it but I'll look it up. I absolutely love everything about The Last of Us. Season 1 was incredible and I can't wait for season 2🧡🧡Thanks for watching
This movie is extremely realistic especially during this time. Express Kidnappings was huge. Especially for us light skinned Mexicanos. My dad and mom always had that fear I would be kidnapped because unfortunately since our sking color is not very common people would pay more for us. And yes we do come in all colors it just happens has even though the most common is dark brown, we go from Mad Magazine red like my cousin to black like some of my other cousin.
You want more Denzel movies? Okay, I think I can accommodate that. Malcolm X The three Equalizer movies Roman Israel, Esq. Flight American Gangster Inside Man Antwone Fisher John Q Training Day Remember the Titans The Hurricane The Bone Collector The Siege He Got Game Courage Under Fire Devil in a Blue Dress (though it's just as much of a Don Cheadle vehicle) Crimson Tide The Pelican Brief Ricochet Mo' Better Blues Glory Cry Freedom A Soldier's Story One that I remember from my youth, that many other people probably don't, is Carbon Copy. I remember it being cute, funny, and clever. But I haven't seen it in a long time and will have to give it another watch to check it in a more modern context.
@@FrankFreezy_ Both are 2 of my all time favorites. Viola Davis is the queen!! If you haven’t seen it, The Help is my very favorite with Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Emma Stone. All are amazingly done
2 movies fairly early in Denzel Washington's career, that I haven't seen mentioned in the comments, are Heart Condition, a dramedy, with Denzel Washington & Bob Hoskins, & Ricochet, an Action Thriller with Denzel Washington & John Lithgow. Ricochet is not one of my favorite films - can't really explain why. But that doesn't mean it's not a good film, or that probably plenty of others didn't like it, or that you won't like it. I recommend watching it at least once. I think Heart Condition is both interesting, & funny. I have no idea how it did at the box office, or how to critique it as far as film making or screenplay writing, etc. goes. I'm no movie critic. And I haven't seen it in years. But I remember loving it. 🤷🏻♀️ So I personally recommend it. Bob Hoskins was in Roger Rabbit, a comedy, & in Unleashed, an action film. Unleashed is a wonderful film with Bob Hoskins, Jet Li & Morgan Freeman. I highly recommend it. John Lithgow was in Terms Of Endearment with Shirley McClain, Debra Winger, Jeff Daniels & Jack Nicholson, & in the original Footloose movie with Kevin Bacon, Lori Singer, & Dianne Wiest, & in a thriller film with Lolita Davidovich, called Raising Cain. I recommend watching all 3, eventually. 🤷🏻♀️ Loved your reaction to Man On Fire. It's one of my all time favorites. It exposes the link between the underworld & the legal authorities, including Federal authorities, & missing people. Especially children. Not just in Mexico, but in every country. Even in America(USA), the police not only have immunity, but they have a fraternal order, a brotherhood, & they have their own Bill Of Rights, seperate from the Bill Of Rights that pertains to everyone else. Which means they are not held subject to the same rules. You seem empathetic & sincere in your reactions. I appreciated that. I also highly recommend the movie Safe, an action thriller, with Jason Stathom, & 3 action thriller movies with female protagonists. One called Peppermint, with Jennifer Garner, as well as, one called Dark Places, with Charlize Theron. And one called Gone Girl with Rosamund Pike, & Ben Affleck. Have a excellent day, today, if it's still daylight, or tomorrow, if the day is over. ✨
Happy Saturday, such a great film. Love Denzel...Christopher Walken who plays Rayburn and Dakota Fanning who plays Pita, also make some amazing films u would def enjoy. Greasy and Pita have such a sweet connection/relationship. Sick and disgusting that a father could do that to their child to pay off debts, coward and monster. I always cry with a smile at the end, beautiful, touching and a true hero story. "Greater love hath no man than a man that lays down his life for another". Thanx so much, say hi to the wifey, take care, Peace
Happy Saturday to ya🧡🧡I will check out some more of their movies. They all did such a great acting job. Yes the father was disgusting. That end in as heavy and beautiful quote. Thanks so much for watching and sharing. She will hear😊 Take care
I love this movie so much. I have a huge soft spot for children so seeing people that have brought harm to one get their comeuppance makes me happy, even if it's just a movie, LOL. Denzel is amazing as usual, and Dakota absolutely holds her own against this man with decades more experience, IMO.
@@FrankFreezy_ I think I wrote you a whole paragraph about watching this movie lol. I'm sure your other viewers were just as insistent that you watch this.
You continue to be my fav reactor Frank. 😎 Despite being probably 20+ yrs younger, you see movies the same way I do with similar moral viewpoints. This movie reminded me of another high quality kidnapping movie called Proof of Life with Russel Crowe. But for something completely different with great heart, have you ever seen The Perfect Storm? Keep it man! 👍😎❤️
AMAZING REACTION! Looking forward to other Denzel Gems😊 Book of Eli Bone Collector John Q Flight Glory Deja Vu The Equalizer Remember the Titans Training Day
The beautiful thing about this is, all these are on my list. And I think you recommended a lot of this back when I made the Denzel post. Thank you thank you
I've only seen this movie once and I had a hard time watching this figuring out how we got from one scene to the next. These movies gotta flow for us in the audience Freezy, because I was just frustrated trying to follow what was happening in the movie.
@@MoMoMyPup10 Obviously you're not familiar with youtube's policies. Every youtube censurer is different. What one let's go through another doesn't. What they decide how much you can show sometimes takes 4-5 edits to satisfy them. Only on Patreon can one see an entire movie and the owners of the film (Hollywood) gets their royalty payment. It's called copyright, it's a law.
I will totally admit that I've never really liked Denzel as an actor. So I decided to give him a try and I will also admit that the movies I've seen, I've very much enjoyed. When I'm wrong I say I'm wrong. Not seen this one so let's hit it
Another incredible reaction, Glory is hands down one of Denzels greatest performances, I implore you if you haven’t seen it please please please check it out. The Equaliser is also incredible ❤
Honestly I've always had a soft spot for this movie and if you like this type of storyline I think you would love the movie Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood I'm a new subscriber so I don't know if you've watched it on here before how to scroll back a little bit and I couldn't see it so I thought I'd recommended it
Unpopular opinion: i dislike Christopher Walkins in this. His whole performance is unnecessary. A no name up and coming actor could have done this better.
