i got a idea . how about investing and taking the time to care for the kids that actually need help instead ov focusing all ur horrible workers going and ripping perfectly family's apart. all these people care about is money its a well nown fact social workers are destroying good happy family's. they dont make money off damaged kids

I'm in Ohio and I'm tired of talking! We know the problems with corrupt CPS and family courts, we need solutions!! I talked to a lady running for Congress and she feels I should start a non profit! I want to change laws, I want boots on the ground, who's with me?

Their to busy taking the one's away from a perfectly reformable parent with a family support group and placing them with a non kinship placement that they chose which is a worse and way more abusive place that controls the lack of reunification of these children and their real families! I have 2 grandkids in a VERY DANGEROUS placement by CPS right now and their running out of time! CPS has refused to speak to ANYONE including the parent about the children AT ALL!

This all makes me sick. A state of emergency needs to be declared, and people need to go to jail. Listen to the parents who's rights have been terminated and the children. Rewrite title I've.

Not asking the right questions, ask the families that had their kids taken away after they have taken them to the ER for care for an injury. Abusers don't usually take the kids in to the ER for fear of CPS or being found out. Yet parents that take their kids in are followed up with CPS even after the Dr.s have stated no abuse has been found. CPS still opens a case and will take the children. Law makers are not asking the right , have a parent that had their kids taken away ask the question . Then hopefully you'll get a true full answer . Hold CPS workers up to the standards of any human that lies on the stand and require jail time of a year or whatever the law allows when they are found to have lies and now days everyone should be recording all meeting with these people . . They haven't even looked at some kids. ( from my sisters case ) they've had the children for almost 6 months, and she hasn't been able to see or talk to any of them, yet she had custody of them through the court system , yet only their parents can see them . My sister has had allegations against her only not guilty of anything and they have been taking the lies off her case , yet no visits allow she has not been found guilty of anything against the children and CPS is dragging it out so they can adopt the kids out . CPS get more money for the kids with disabilities by adopting them out than trying to reunify the families. There are a few cases that kids have needed CPS but my opinion is that of 100 cases maybe 5 really need protection . . They take children without any interviews straight from the house with just an allegation from someone that is angry with a person or a drunk . they come without a warrant and police after a person has taken their child to ER for an injury . . they have done that Since all the state laws need to be changed and it is very difficult to do that , due to Lobbyists for CPS have the governments' ear. It may be easier to have a law changed that with proof of lying by a CPS worker Which i have found to be pretty easy to find them lying due to their not concerned about going to jail at all . they have no fear of prosecution , So mandate it in all states that all the courts in all the states must send those persons to jail . I know about perjury but no one does anything when they lie yet they are allow to lie and to take your kids this kidnappers ( That is the right word) they must go to jail and have the fear that's what will happen . They have no fear at present . MUST GO TO JAIL . Not anything but to jail so that Judges ( friends of CPS and their attorneys police also all involved ) with this illegally act have no choose but to put them in jail maybe a year no good time make it a felony or something . thank you for your time if you even read this i will keep trying to help parents with keeping their kids .

What they should ask, do you believe in taking kids from homes just to get state and federal funding! I have a friend that has happened too!!! Their child was away from their home for over a year and the judge finally had enough and ordered their child back home ASAP and to never bother them again!!!!

The ones schooled and put out watch over the little ones just don't have a any kids of their own. Therefore they cannot have compassion and the emotions it takes to be a parent they don't know.

I think rep 31 was to harsh , cleaning house in DHS is a great idea. Getting a standardized filing system would cut down on lost info.

And what's wrong with a neighbor stepping up to a family and saying " I can see you are overwhelmed, what can I / we/ neighbors do to give you a hand?. If u see a neighbor child with no coat why not check your child's closet for an extra one? Why call CPS for every fart that's let and watch then drop the ball again and again? What happened to neighbors helping neighbors? Why does every child get sent to CPS to be 6x more likely to be killed in their own home? Help your neighbors ppl it's our duty as human beings!!

That’s right “it’s not about the children or the families. It’s all about numbers. It’s heartbreaking that these CPS “accountability” sessions only ever take place when a child dies. They would have more time and funds for children in the troubled families if they quit “investigating” normal families.

They always say they are improving this and doing that....they aren't doing anything on behalf of these children!!!

Dcfs... It's all about the funding. The more cases, the bigger the budget. It's a small percent that really cares about the families...

It is money money money kids are worth all the lovely money. Kids lives are worth lots of money all the bullshit and hype doesn't change the fact that removal and intervention is all about money. Why not ask the families whose lives were destroyed for nothing except the hunger for money. The few cases that warranted intervention far outways those cases that were simply about achieving more and more money. The whole process is a sham.

We need her in Ohio, I know far too many famlies disrupted, separated and damaged to steal their children and claim they are lawfully doing so. Please and the judges that approve these orders should be schooled too. Here they are not about keeping the families together and/or reuniting them.

We need to demand independent audits of every single CPS agency. All parents deserve a jury of 12 of their own peers (due process) before a child is taken. Demand transparency now!! No more incentives for taking children!!

Dcs needs to be investigated in Bloomington, Indiana! 2 of my grandchildren have had dcs in their life now for 6yrs! Both children have developed mental health issues and where dcs placed them for the Last 14 months 7yr old has tried to take her life, the 12 cuts on herself allot and dcs don't care at all! Dcs is allowing this 14 month replacement 71 yr.old lady,400lbs, with health issues and mentally, and physically abuses both girls everyday to adopt next month! The children should come to me I've begged for the last 14 months! I've wrote to the judge twice but no respond back! I'll fight this all the way! Dcs don't care about the children at all! It's a money scan and our children is paying the price! Thanks to Hillery Clinton! Pray for our bbs and keep them safe from our corrupted government! My 2 granddaughters hurt everyday they want to come back home!

This agency does not need more power,,, certainly not and I think most want their case closed and there families back together,, there are extreme cases that obviously need to stay opened and monitoring to abolish the horrible child tradgedies it is a double edged sword

You have to think about the case workers who are removing kids for no reason at all. Who are violating constitutional rights. Call the police they're in charge of protecting the citizens. And following up on charges and investigations. Instead of just making a claim or alligations. How many children die in dfs custody from removal from safe homes with their parents.

I don't believe what I'm hearing. What about simple note taking? Every caseworker, investigator whether the allegation is founded or not, should be taking thorough notes on the individual family, and those notes should be available for the following caseworker, investigator or supervisor to review.

As far as assigning a new case number with each new allegation, why wouldn't a name check bring up previous cases? That's how it works in my part of the world....Thank god that blonde senator gets it as far as the investigators out in the field needing that info. They never know what kind of home they are going into.

Since when are social workers trained in criminal investigation? Cases of child abuse and neglect should be investigated by professionally trained law enforcement officers.

It should be mandatory that case workers return your call within one day at most and thier is a mandatory emergency number to get a hold of a caseworker 24 hours a day exspecially in a crisis

They took my baby and gave her to her blind father! Withdrew her from her school and enrolled her a week later in another one without my knowledge. Her father has call CPS on me 20 times in 2 years. After we have a judge in supreme Court of 4 years give us a parental plan and final order now he's using cps

These caseworkers need to have adeguite training and not just get moved up in the department because of staff shortages this happens all the time and dcfs threading people with taking their kids away if they complain thier are dcf workers and doctors and nurses like this and schools and daycares and none of this really gets checked out except that the people that make the complaint are heard but the accused is not heard just threatened

The state of Missouri is about to illegally adopt out my grandchildren. Sherry Moller with the Missouri Department of Social Services said what happened was illegal but will not help our family. I would like to address a misconception that most have about CPS. When a child is taken from a family the first thought most have is “what did the family do wrong”? Child Welfare Agencies should be about protecting children from abuse & neglect. The most important quality a social worker must have is INTEGRITY for the position they hold. FACT: 9-6-2019 Missouri Children’s Division fully supports the paternal grandparents guardianship of the their two minor grandchildren. (Parental consent for the guardianship was agreed & signed) My grandchildren lived in our home for over 3 years when this guardianship petition was agreed on. We had been asking for help to address the emotional needs for my grandson. If a child is in state custody; in order to get mental health support services, first the services must be initiated by the social worker. CPS (social worker) FAILED at their job. 20 days after children’s division filed the full support of guardianship; the case manager moved our grandchildren to a non-relative foster home. CPS claimed that the grandparents only wanted guardianship of their granddaughter & siblings need to stay together. The guardianship was filed for both children; & the CPS worker lied. Where is the accountability for the actions of the social worker? Case managers are making life long decisions for children and their families and are not held accountable for the actions taken. DO NOT be quick to judge a family when a child is put into the foster care system. The state of Missouri is about to illegally adopt out my grandchildren. Paternal Grandparents found to be Appropriate Placement-Denied Family Reunification-MISSOURI 42 USC § 675(1) (E) Federal law requires placement of a child with relatives if there is a willing and acceptable relative. The paternal grandparents were found to be an acceptable placement for their grandchildren and denied family reunification as required by federal law 42 USC§ 671(a)(15)(B). The judge in the case had a prior relationship to the foster parent-he was the court appointed attorney when she was a minor.

So caseworkers come to this job to help kids. Many of us have our own traumas that we overcame in our lives before we even started. Then we come to Child and Family Services. We are absolutely buried in work, most of which is repetitive and more of which is traumatic - none of which is adequately supported. We are often targeted by both clients and our own administrators who are both looking for someone to blame so they can avoid taking responsibility themselves when something doesn’t work they way it is supposed to or there is a difference in opinion as to what is necessary to help a family. As a result, many workers end up reacting to work-related trauma. This is how children die. Workers can’t function on 12-hour days with constant trauma and the insecurity of vague, overcomplicated regulations and a complete lack of support or coverage from leadership. We also can’t function on inadequate training. Add favoritism and inability of leadership to accept constructive criticism from their own front lines, and you have a disaster just waiting to happen. I’m not surprised after 20 years in this field. Accountability needs to start at the top, not roll down to the bottom to hit our vulnerable kids and the people trying desperately to protect them.
