Deputy Dawg - Astronut 

I think I'm about to die laughing. 60 years old and I'm still enjoying this. The best funniest cartoon ever!

"Astronut" was spun-off into his own TV series in the 1965/66 season. It ws originally intended to air on the Saturday-morning schedule of Terrytoons' parent CBS, but instead went into first-run syndication.

The funniest part is when the little space gremlin makes off with the sheriff's car. Just plain hilarious!

Clearly Astronut likes classic cars.

Boy, do these cartoons ever bring back memories...! I remembered Deputy Dawg's signature line -- "Dagnabit!" -- but I'd forgotten all about that little sigh he always makes when he's embarrassed.

I think this was the Space Varmint's second appearance in Deputy Dawg.

When I was six I had my own 8 mm movie projector that cost $6. It came with a silent, black and white abridged edition of this cartoon.

I used to watch that when I was a kid a few days ago thank God I grew up this week

Absolutely hilarious... when he's floating inside the rocket i almost wet myself laughing hahaha

2:19 That's actually a really well thought out fake out, think about it, most comedies would have had the joke be that the big guy who was starting a fight got beat up by the little guy, and the way Deputy Dawg yells during that scuffle while his pal watches on with a worried expression further causes us to expect this, but when we actually cut back we see that unexpectedly Deputy Dawg is the one who won.

Love the astronut character in this cartoon; by the way, anyone know the name of the other D.D. cartoon w/ the astronut in it?? Been tryin to find that information. Thanx for the D.D. posts! Brings back memories-

..................I'm in my 50"s now. This was shown at "lunchtime" when i was young . I watch this now and.....I need a sandwich sooo bad. Is that weird?
