A revisit of a couple of videos I put up in 2016 original videos:

Both sites make up part of the derelict Wight City complex in Sandown. The site has remained vacant since closing down in December 2012 and within the last couple of weeks, work has started to demolish the structure to make way for redevelopment.
Having spent much of my youth in the arcade and my early adult life in the nightclub I wanted to pop back, one last time before the site is gone forever…
In this video I’ve tried to include some of the areas not shown from the last videos including the Jolly Sailor pub, there is still loads of stuff in there that will I assume will be ending up on the scrap pile, it's also a shame to see that someone has ransacked the arcade machines.
Filmed with Sony A7S ii edited and graded in Adobe Premiere Pro 2017.
Music was created by me in FL Studio and is my own rendition of Aquatic Ambience from DK Country on the SNES.

My dad grew up going every single summer, and this year he brought us and was shocked at how downhill it’s all gone, especially since covid. The only shops open on the high street are sainsbury’s and co-op, and most hotels and attractions are abandoned and derelict. it’s so sad to see such an amazing place fall to ruin

It is sad I have a lot of memories from here, the site was closed down in 2012 as the owner couldn't afford to keep it open anymore, unfortunately, I think it was a victim of the decay of Sandown... Thanks for watching! 👍

I grew up on the Isle of Wight and the jolly sailor and colonel bogies was the pub and club I used to use, such a shame it is like this now.

I go to the isle of white every year and my parents have been going for 20 or more years I remember when they used to take me there, then it got so old and closed down. Now they’ve nocked it all down and are building what I think are apartments or something.

Love these! Would love to see more around the St Helens/Bembridge areas as I love them - (although I don’t know of many abandoned places - but that’s not to say there aren’t any as I am only there for a week or two each year). Anyway this video is great and extremely well made - Sandown is quite the ghost town now :/

the site where Zanies / Blue Lagoon used to be recently came up for sale at 895,000. There is planning permission in place for a max of 5 2 storey houses. Don't know quite who would want to live there, I would have thought anybody with a budget of 300 grand or more would want a much better location.

Thanks! It has only recently become accessible again as they are demolishing it and up until last week, it was still very secure... I'm not sure how long the stuff will be left in there as I've already been told that loads has been cleared away today

Btw the old Ryde Academy build is being destroyed and will probs be gone soon so if you wanted to do it be soon. Be careful tho as we looked around and there is a lot of cameras

When was this filmmed? i went there today and saw the entrance opened, the 18 area was empty but saw a few claw machines with toys in in, also saw the sweetland pusher. great video btw, nice to see it again!!!!!!!!! ;)

Abandoned Isle of Wight How come you never filmmed the 18 area? Im not very sure if they cleaned the whole arcade yet but ik theres walls in the 18 so i didnt get to see in properly.

I think I briefly showed it when I went in there back in 2016, but tbh its probably the least most interesting area of the arcade... Interesting we managed this time to get into the cafe area which was just stacked full of more modern/better condition cabinets, although it was difficult to film in there as it was super exposed.

unfortunately not, given that they started work tearing the place down the week after this was filmed I have a horrible feeling they may have ended up in the back of a skip 😕

very good. surprisingly well preserved!. usually these places are gutted and anything not welded to the structure is stolen.

That has gotten a lot worse since your last video. Can't believe it. I knew they put cameras up due to vandles going in there. But damn. Just compared it to to your first videos. That meg genie head gone and some of the slot machines pushed over. Such a shame. Me and my mate (iow arcade tours (he probably comment soon) we have bee. Talkings about this place recently. He went today and the car park is full of machines and arcade cleaned out. still a shame Thanks for doing another video here. Did nutters do another video?

At first, I was really happy that everything was still in there but it was pretty gutting when I realised that whilst everything was still there so much had been ransacked 😞 I really can't understand the mentality of some people... I'm not sure if Aaron has another video... We kinda went on a punt as the scaffolding had been put up and got lucky (as it was super secure) I've been told that since this was filmed (last week) they've cleared out quite a bit of it... did they bar up the window? me and some freinds went in last year and looked around the arcade for a bit when we went to the back room of the arcade we heard a sensor click and we set off an alarm. great video.

The Window has been barred for a while, I did have a look at it last year and all out the back was fully secured up... Fortunately, scaffolding opens up new possibilities 😅 ....It's still super sketchy though, with spotlights and sensors everywhere, they've taken loads of the boards of the windows too so its super exposed everywhere.... I was just wandering as a came here as a kid i remember playing the simpsons arcade game there. I didnt know that the club part was accesable when we went a lot was blocked up and we didnt want to break any doors so we never botherd some of those machines have been vandalised since i last went its a shame. thanks for the reply.

The water is much worse now, suppose there is nowhere for it to go and as they are demoing the site no point of pumping it out... It's as high as the seating now so there was no way I was braving falling in it to get to the back this time 😂 thanks for watching!

Planning permission has been granted for a set of apartments and I think there may be some retail space included in the plans too, although I doubt that they'll put another arcade in.

They have already sold it, sadly I think it was just a victim of the general decline of Sandown over the years, reading around I think that they operated the site at a loss for quite some time before it closed.

I remember seeing people actually staying in the apartments above this arcade... sitting out on the balconies and enjoying their time there. This island is going to ruin. It's sad.
