Exploring inside an old derelict builders yard located in Brading on the Isle of Wight.

I think that the name of the firm was "W. J. Simmonds & Sons Ltd"
the site has become very overgrown and many of the buildings have collapsed. Sadly vandals burnt down much of what remained serval years back, despite this, there is still a great deal of paperwork remaining on the site some of which dates back over 100 years
This video is something that I found on an old hard drive originally filmed from around 2015/16. I've not been back since this visit, would like head back at some point this summer and have a much thorough explore.
Filmed with Sony A7S, edited and graded in Adobe Premiere Pro 2017.
Music was created by me in FL Studio.

Just seen this and you made it nostalgic, thank you. It was my grandfathers building firm and we still own it and is private land. Not unhappy you did this though.

How do you always make the unloved and derelict look utterly beautiful in your videos? Excellent, as always. Did you ever manage to get into the empty Osborn Smiths, before the site was ruined forever, several years ago? I went there several times as a kid, and loved it. There was a beautiful darkness to the exhibits. When my brother, on holiday, sent me pictures of the empty building, several years ago, I was genuinely saddened.

Thanks very much 😁👍 I never got into the waxworks building whilst it was empty and before they knocked down a big chunk of it... Such a shame because it really was a unique attraction, I think you either loved it or were terrified of it as a kid 😅the chamber of horrors was always my favorite

It's in the bushes of Morton Manor Road (as you come down off the Downs road)

Just replied to someone about this (above) . I'm pretty sure it's as you come up from Yarbridge crossroads, on the left side - at the corner where the other lane goes down to Morton Manor, and one goes across to the Adgestone. I used to live at The Mount (further up The Mall, big house on the right) and walked past this yard twice a day. I think it was originally Island Builders.

As of March 2020 it's still there and the keep out signs are still in evidennce.

I think this is up from Yarbridge Crossroads, on The Mall, on the left as you're coming up the road. I used to live at The Mount, and walked past this twice a day, to and from the bus stop. It was Island Builders, I think.
