We explore Harcourt Sands holiday Park Isle of Wight 

I used to work there when I was about 13, making beds in the chalets whilst my friends Nan was chamber maid. Many happy times..used to be thriving. We practically lived at the indoor pool one summer. Such a shame it’s now derelict. Cannot understand why it’s never been either rebuilt or demolished for housing.

We loved Harcourt Sands, it was a 5 star camp..we had holidays there from 1990 until 2004 . Lots of memories, fantastic.. by the beach, plenty to do there. Entertainment was great. It's a tragedy that it was left to deteriorate like that..the Island needs another camp there, for Ryde is becoming run down. Needs the people back..❤️ if anybody spent holidays there they would understand just how very sad it is. .😥😥

went there for many holidays and was originally 2 holiday parks owned by Warners. The one with the dining rooms was St Claire and The larger one with the pool, was Puckpool, where the film that'll be the Day was filmed. So sad to see it completely trashed like that.

Man u seem to love exploring my old haunts. Lyndhurst anf now Harcourt. Holidays here as a kid were amazing.

I have never been but its always interesting to see these old places. It's sad in a way that once it was bustling with lots of happy holiday makers and now just distant memories. Nice tour as always 👌

I remember this place in its heyday. The move “that’ll be the day” was filmed here in 1973-4. The buildings are all demolished now.

I had a holiday there in the 1950's with my family. So sad to see it abandoned.

I stayed here at Christmas back in the early 1980s when it was called Puckpool..it was amzazing! Its so sad to see!

Thanks for the video, very helpful as I want to research some of the locations of shots for the film That'll Be the Day filmed way back in 1972. So different now. Had Ringo Starr and David Essex playing Pitch n Putt where the water slide is now.

8:36 - Two people went inside the 'Aqua Splash' building through one of the air ducts (apparently broken open by a fallen tree branch) and went down a steel cable ladder tethered to a handrail. Since then, the duct has been cut away and the openings were sealed, rendering access impossible by any other means. Does anyone know when the indoor pool building dates from I wonder if it will be saved as part of the residential development as the inside looks completely pristine with no signs of vandalism or graffiti but merely layers of dust!

Such a shame what a waste with so many homeless people if i had the cash i would get these renovated for homes for them and their pets

It would still be an ideal spot for holiday park can't understand why it closed sad really 😢

The room and 3.15 is the apartment me and my family used to stay in! Crazy weird seeing it now.

This place was my 1st ever coach tour job it was a very bad place to stay at had loads of compliments off the passengers my 1st room was very badly maintained so asked for another place that was a bit cleaner but there was a big crack in the wall and u could move the wall the only good thing was the staff were friendly never went back thank goodness

I use to stay regularly on the isle of Wight and a couple of the cheap camps there were not too far of that condition.

This place just screams at me to travel down back to the Isle to explore this abandoned place and view what happened and would have been... Is it still advisable to explore the site or is it fully closed off from public?

I wish that Harcourt Sands could be revived as a holiday park again, maybe as a Haven park, since it was a Haven park from 1993 to 1999.... But why did Renowned Holidays close down Harcourt Sands at the end of the 2006 season?

I remember holiday camps from the 60s, they were more like Gulags, the recreation room had a ping-pong table and a black and white t.v, it was literally pay t.v, you had to put a penny in the back of it to watch it for 15mins

It could be a nice community with some shops for provisions

Before it was overgrown u could see the pineapple from Southsea on a clearvdayb
