I think 1mm is fine for ppl thinning a lot, just do a nice back and forth roll about 3 or so times in 3 inch patches, that way you can keep good pressure on the spot and then move to the next patch

I been Derma rolling/minoxidil 3X a week for over 2 years. Amazing results. He says that you only do it once a week,maybe that is why they are not getting any results. Keep consistent!!! I agree with that last commenter. I've seen a ton of cases where derma-rolling was used to bring back almost all their hair. I don't see any reason why someone like me, who barely has any hair loss in comparison, couldn't use it to get back their original hair line or get close enough that it would be unnoticeable.

Hi Vikran, love the videos! please keep them coming. I have a question.... I've been using fin and minoxidil+micro needling for just over a year now and I have managed to get some good regrowth and thinkend up my hair. My hair is naturally thin so I know I'll never be able to get a full thick head of hair but I'm fine with that. I've stopped using hair styling products such as wax and hair gels about 5 years due to my hair being so thin and wispy looking. But recently I've been using wax and volumizing moose on my hair again because I have more hair to play with. It does look really nice once its styled to point where you can never tell I'm a hair loss sufferer. This brings me to my question... Does using hair styling products cause further hairloss or affect the quality of your hair if you use them quite often?? Thanks again for your informative contents 👊
@TheHairLossShow
@TheHairLossShow 4 года назад
Generally no. Remember, the hair shaft that you see is essentially 'dead'. You can apply whatever product you want without causing issues. Things like hair dyes are also fine, but depending on the chemical used, they can make the hairs brittle.

@@TheHairLossShow So we know we want the growth factors from dermarolling, but are we also after the collagen production? The reason I ask is because if collagen production is another integral goal of this protocol, then it's generally universally agreed that MNing should not be performed any more often than every 4-6 weeks...3 weeks at the earliest, as you don't want to introduce new inflammation and disrupt the prior collagen remodeling process that was already initiated. This would contradict the advice out there to needle every 1-2 weeks. But if all we want is the growth factors, then needling at this rate would be fine. Also, would the depth and protocol for MNing the scalp be the same as for sideburns and a beard? I have been MNing my face for skincare at 0.5mm -1.0mm depths every 4-6 weeks. However, gaining a denser beard would be more important to me than the skin quality underneath the hair (since it can't really be seen anyway)...So I suppose if you said "no, collagen production is not a vital piece we're trying to gain as it pertains to beard hair", then I would be willing to MN every 1-2 weeks with no concern about breaking the 4-6 week rule we typically associate with skin rejuvenation.

Hey Doc, love your channel, I have a question that I personally hate being asked, as I myself have a business and I price jobs that I do accordingly, but I find that it is so expensive in Australia to get a hair transplant, given that it's one day procedure, wouldn't it work out better for hair transplant industries in Australia to work together to bring the price down a little so people don't go over seas, I mean you would be flooded with business if the prices where reduced, anyway just a thought. Cheers Carter.

One of my biggest question regarding the hair loss : People who suffer from androgenetic alopecia are their hair prone to DHT because of their genes or is it there body is producing too much of DHT ?.... I mean people who don't go through androgenetic alopecia can we say that their bodies don't produce that much amount of DHT as compared to people going through androgenetic alopecia OR is it just every male's hair in this world is prone to too much of DHT ? In simple words does "genes" contribute to the factor of producing more DHT or does it contribute towards weakening of hair follicles due to presence of DHT in one's body ?

Hello Dr, It's a bit of a followup on the question of finasteride VS dermarolling. I am doing that + PRP and recently started micro-needling. My objective is to continue finasteride for the next few months. I got my last PRP treatment this week and I'm trying to stop PRP and finas for more natural means (Derma rolling only and perhaps better shampoos, scalp massages and biotin). PRP is pretty expensive so that is why I wish to stop it. Finas is not as much but I would require a doctor to provide me with the prescription + I don't like the idea of taking a drug changing something inside of me for so long. My hairloss is pretty slow. I'm 32 and only at norwood 2. That is why I'm hoping that only derma rolling (with Dr pen) and other natural means would help me keep what I have right now. Do you think that considering I have a very slow process, it would be fine? Also for the skin thickness, is there any way to know for sure? I've been doing it at 1.5mm but I'm not sure if it's optimal. My skin becomes bright red and no bleeding happen. I read that some people keep that redness for days, is that meant to happen? Because mine is all disappeared on the next morning (I do it before sleeping). Thank you!

Sorry i know this isnt related to the topic at hand. Ive been on fin/min for over a month now. I was curious if adding biotin would help the cause? I have read that biotin can increase the diameter of the hair along with growing hair faster. Is this true? Will biotin aid in hairloss?

Doctor, Please answer... I just stopped using minoxidil after a month using it because my scalp was itching, so my question, can i regrow my hair that has been falling of because sheding phase of minoxidil and also regrow a new hair with others option tonic serum? I also still consume finasteride, 0.8 mg daily, i only stopped the Minoxidil, not the dht blocker. Thanks

Hope this helps; I just posted this to another poster's question: LIQUID minoxidil contains an ingredient which can make the scalp itch. When I realized this, I switched to the FOAM which doesn't. To me the liquid form is easier to apply-with the dropper directly to the scalp-as opposed to the foam which might sit atop the hair, preventing product from reaching the scalp where hair "bulbs" are. So I squirt foam into the cap, and immerse it in some hot water in a shallow cup. (Don't let water get into the cap.)The foam will quickly turn into liquid which can then be applied with dropper. Side note, I'm female and use 5% generic minoxidil (way cheaper since it needs to be applied "forever") working up from 2% when I started 11 years ago. It WORKS for me, preventing further hair thinning I'd noticed at the "corner" of top & side hairlines. And the "baby hair" keeps coming in still. Best wishes to all!

I just half a propecia tablet - do you think I should instead be taking the full milligram tablet a day or is .5mg enough? Also, about how long in your opinion until the shedding slows or stops? Thanks so much

It’s not cause of any sort of deficiency, thyroid problem or hormonal problem. How can I know if I have AGA or AAI? Thank you! (I’m female, 22)

For beards, how soon after dermarolling can I apply minoxidil? People on Reddit are saying 24 hours but I wonder if that's bro science or not?
@gabrielbaker3188
@gabrielbaker3188 3 года назад
I know this was 10 months ago but it’s to help anyone that reads this. 24 hours is a good wait time. If you do it too soon the minoxidil will enter your blood stream and you’ll receive side effects such as: irregular heart beat, chest pain, headaches, stomach pain and a few others. So I’d say derma roll in the morning, and apply minoxidil the next morning.

So my questions: 1. If u want to have childeren in the future and u want to play it safe how long do u need to be off finasteride before trying for a child? And can u go back on Finasteride straight after trying my concerns are the sperm count loss. 2. I saw in one of ur videos that u advice to start with 3 mg per week when doing Finasteride so how long would u prefer to use this method if u dont see side effects would u go over to the 7 mg per week or would u stay on it? And if staying on it will u definitely have the same results as 7 mg? 3. I dont have male pattern baldness and I dont have receding hairline however I have some spots which are tiny and there is no growth there anymore for the past 4 years because of lots of usage of heat without protection spray. Do u think this can regrow? Aswell as I used to have really thick hair but now its thin almost to the point that u can sometimes look through it in the front middle part because of sunlight. 4. I have seen a friend going being on Finasteride safely for 12 years and now hes having low to no sperm count plus hes having a very low sexual desire however he is 51? Is it possible to create side effects after 12 years???? Thanks in advance for answering my questions🙂
