Help! I am new to the skin care world. With so many things out there to use I’m totally confused on what comes first, what comes last, what do we stack on top of one another, what not to stack on top, does the serum go first or last??!!?It’s so overwhelming! Can you please do a video on the step by step process??? I am sure I’m not the only one out there that is totally confused and would really appreciate a video. Hope you would consider my request. 😊
The best mineral sunscreen I’ve found speaking as an Esthetician is Baby Bum Mineral 50, by Sun Bum. Its fab, blends in fast, doesnt irritate or sting eyes.
I personally like their Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 a lot more than this one. It's lighter weight, applies with less rubbing, dries down fully, and doesn't have any white cast. This one takes a bit more elbow grease to apply, leaves a little bit of a white cast even on my fair skin, and stays a bit wet so my hair sticks in it. It's definitely better than a lot of other US drugstore options, but that's not exactly the highest bar.
Hello Dr Daniel Sugai, i was wondering if you can do a series of best sunscreen specifically for people who have to be outside. Whether its for people who have occupations outdoors like construction people or people who just are out due to sports like cyclist and surfers. Thank you!
I love the littllextra riceberry sunscreen! I have sensitive combination skin and this works perfectly for me. I wear it every day and can wear makeup on top, but it's not always necessary because this sunscreen makes my skin look amazing and moisturized. I keep the powder handy for touch-ups in case I end up outside for lunch.
🤙🏽 Thank you doc for mentioning the sunscreen ingredients Hawaii bans for the coral reef protection. Hey, every bit helps all of our oceans, we can do better! 🪸🐠✌🏼
With a HYBRID sunscreen if I'm only using this for my face only do I use it BEFORE moisturizer (as one does w/Chemical Sunblocks) or AFTER moisturizer (like I do w/mineral sunblock) NOT that you asked, but I do wear Sunblock on my body every day but I have Lupus and vitiligo (as well as other auto/primary immunodeficiencies) so I avoid the sun at all costs (this shrink isn't hanging out at the pool or going for a run). Just didn't want a dermatologist to think I ONLY used sunblock on my face! Thanks for the video-I learned a lot about chemical v mineral blocks! Be safe, Dr Karen
Aloha Doc! Thank you for this review (and especially mentioning the banned elements for the 808 state). Idk if you tried Jack Black SPF 45 for men (hybrid spf) but its been amazing. Id love to hear your thoughts on it.
For some reason Cerave, for all their amazing products, still haven't cracked the code to make a sunscreen that doesn't leave a ghastly white cast on every skin type.
Hi Dr. Sugai, I was looking i to cerave as I love they’re products. Then I came across blue lizard 50 spf for sensitive skin mineral sunscreen and wow I’m loving it. I will try the new Cerave one as well, thanks.
@@lanaofficiel4042 I wouldn’t know because I don’t use it on my face, but I think I’ve read no. DRMMTLGY broad spectrum spf45 doesn’t though and it’s great!
Thank you for this review!!! I do have a question: I’m an African American woman on tretinoin. Summer beach days are approaching. Is there a sunscreen you would recommend (since I actually like tanning and the beach 😊)?
Hi Dr Sugai. Thank you alot for an useful video. I see that you have checked and evaluated many products of Cerave. Could you please try & give your opinion about CeraVe Skin Renewing Nightly Exfoliating Treatment? Highly appreciate!
Ill try it👍👍don’t know why people are so against a nice scent in skincare products, it will not break you out! And unscented products are so bland and unenjoyable to use. Thx for the review. I would like to know overall which type of sunscreen will block most sun damage, chemical, physical or hybrid? Or does it matter? Ive heard tinted mineral is best, is it?
What products would you use for older skin 60+ that is cruelty free, sensitive skin, plus combo skin? Cleansing, wrinkle, and sunscreen? Thanks for your videos.
konnichiwa!,watching from Japan. Please share what skincare products you brought from Japan,Thank you Doc. because of you Im now take better care of my skin more, though Im in my 40’s😊
Hi Dr Sugai! Love your reviews! Was wondering if you could do a video about Biojuve. Could you talk about Biome support complex and living biome serum.
See his video, newborn skin care tips from a board certified dermatologist and his short, dermatologist recommend sunscreens for kids. Pediatrician Dr. Amna Husain has videos on sunscreens for babies and kids. Dr. Jenny Liu has a short, sunscreen 101 for babies and kids! The budget dermatologist has a video on the sunscreen she uses for her kids and she has a shop with me sunscreen haul with her kids picking out more sunscreens. Dr. Shereene Idriss has a video on best sunscreens for everybody including kids. There are more med/derm channels that cover sunscreens for kids as well.
In the meantime, other derms channels can help with this. Dr. Shereene Idriss' video on exfoliating acids covers the what not to do and offers drugstore and luxury products.
I think Dr Dray glanced/reviewed that in one of her recent weekend vlogs at Walgreens. She was shocked by the price and recommended Aveeno instead although she's not the biggest Olay fan so it would be interesting to see what Dr. Sugai has to say.
I wonder when the derm industry will create the perfect zinc oxide(only) sunscreen. No white cast (or a very minimal white film), not greasy, not tinted and a between of glow and matte finish. Chemical sunscreens are not the majority's favorite since the majority of people have sensitive skin or a skin type that requires a physical sunscreen. It would be great to be able to enjoy it before I die in maybe 50 years.
Most folks just tend to recommend k-beauty sunscreens. Not everyone agrees that Dr V's sunscreen is cast free. I follow at least one channel that covers skincare for folks who fall under fitz 4-6, who showed it left a cast on her. I'm pretty sure Glow by Ramon who's Puerto Rican wasn't a big fan either.
@@msk-qp6fn Dr Rattan's is a shady one. It's actually a hybrid sunscreen - it uses an unregulated chemical filter (Butyloctyl salicylate) that is a modified form of the approved chemical filter octinoxate. That's how she's able to use a lower amount of zinc to create a sunscreen that doesn't leave a cast, while still calling it a "mineral only sunscreen." It's so awful!
You cant. I work in a pharmacy and we often make creams with zinc oxide. Its a very white fine powder that turns every cream opaque white even in small amounts.
Which facial sunscreen do you recommend for dry skin even in the summer. I’m in my 40’s and really damaged my face going on vacations and getting sunburned.
I just got this sunscreen and like it, but I get nervous if spf 30 is strong enough? I have fair skin and I feel like no matter how diligent I am (consistent daily and reapply) I still get sun spots.
Dr. Sugai, I find that chemical sunscreens, specifically with Avobenzone stain my white clothes a weird yellow tint. I try to use minerals when I wear white but I sometimes just can't stand mineral sunscreen on my body. I've tried a couple combo sunscreens and some are okay, but do you have any suggestions?
Hi Dr. Daniel Sugai, I have really sensitive skin plus I have an oily T zone and dry skin. Also I have rocasa and I break out from any facial products. I haven't been able to find a skincare routine that works for me. Would using retinol be a bad idea and could you recommend any products that I could use?
Salam dr I m from KSA.i have oily skin with lots of tiny bumps and blackheads whiteheads on all over my face.and i m trying to conceive.kindly guide me about safe skincare products.i shall b very thankful to you.
doctor, my child is 9 years old, her face has small pimples, there are blackheads and there are 2 or 3 black spots on her face. What product i must give to her...
Every sunscreen I purchased thus far leaves a heavy white chalk finish on my face, this new cerave ones seems to have left a white cast as well, can any recommend one that has zero white cast and don't go on like a thick paste?
Hi Doc, for sensitive skin, what is a good gentle cleanser to remove water resistant sunscreen? I fond cetaphil gentle skin cleanser not working well :(
@@db-gb5xi Thanks! I'd viewed the video. I am allergic to cerave moisturizer cream, so I dare not use its cleanser :( So I might try vanicrean gentle cleanser.
@@xiaoxiamin2603 There are other derm videos who cover sensitive/rosacea skin as well like Dr Dray, The Budget Dermatologist, Dr. Sam Ellis, Jenny Liu, Dr. Shereene Idriss, etc.
Use a simple balm or oil cleanser. Clinique makes both under their ‘take the day off’ range. For drugstore, Elf has a balm cleanser. Apply to dry skin. Massage and remove with a face cloth. 2nd cleanse with whatever cleanser you like.
Cerave as great of a brand as they are, their sunscreens are HORRID. Like do better, holy shit it’s gotten old. SPF 30 and you can’t make it cosmetically elegant? I won’t use any of their products. Sorry.
It is not matte. It is more luminous. However, if you use the Cerave moisturizer first it will set more natural. I have learned that if I use the cerave moisturizer first for any mineral and dewy sunscreens it will minimize the white cast and set more natural than oily
