Would love to see a video that goes through skincare for people with autoimmune diseases (like lupus, sjogrens, etc.)! What is safe to use, what precautions to take, etc.
The timing is just perfect, just yesterday I used the COSRX peel. It’s the first time I try a peeling gel so can’t wait to see results after weeks of use.
I have used both loreal and the ordinary peeling solution. They both works great. I haven't noticed any difference from these two. Only reason i bought loreal is because is was on sale buy 1 get 1 free which brings it to the same price as the ordinary. For people with sensitive skin loreal is probably better otherwise I would just use the ordinary.
You can purchase some extremely strong peels like TCA and Jessner , Glycolic, lactic, etc. through Platinum Skincare. I purchased the 18% TCA to do this fall. I’m a little nervous but they have tutorials on RU-vid to guide you through. They have much stronger ones but the down time seems much more extensive.
the French love their fragrances... Bioderma, Loreal, La Roche Posay, Avene have multiple products containing fragrances. The absurd thing is they will label an item as "for sensitive skin" and then managed to put a fragrance in it 😭 like
@@thoquirafael807 L'Oreal has a great foundation though in True Match. I too suffer from fragrance issues. I would love to find a self tanner withou them.
Well,I love fragrance! I don't even touch products that don't smell. I want to enjoy full sensorial experience! We are all different. And products that are fragrance free can also hurt your skin, don't always blame the fragrance! I've sensitive, acne prone skin and I only have had problems from products that are niche, never ever from L'Oreal or other big companies.
@@maureengreen8695 to have seasoned professional assistance and facilities can be key, since things can go south, even whilst making every effort to follow instructions (as a solo at home artist).
I do the same but at 15% once at the start of winter and again 2 or 3 months later towards the end of winter to minimise my exposure to sun and dry air. Snail gel is your best friend.
L’Oreal is out of their damn minds for putting fragrance and yellow and blue coloring in this product. It’s a NO for me. 👎🏻💩🤦🏻♀️ Always say no to dyes and coloring.
This peeling from loreal is really good! i noticed a difference in my hyperpigmentation and acne very quickly and it really gives me a glowy skin! i also really like the SPF and cleanser from this line.
I'm sort of on the fence about the peels, I remember the first time I saw some pictures of the chemical peels and learned about how effective they are, but everything else that can send your entire body into full on alert so to speak and I'm talking about any bacteria, and I know that not all bacteria is bad but you go that deep into tissue it can set you up for some bigger health problems. I am a little interested in in the superficial one the doctors used and I am also curious about if any medication can cause reactions, I don't think I take anything that powerful but I just try to be cautious and I usually ask lots of questions too. Thank you doctor's for always bringing about very valuable information and helpful information as well.🌟
I’ve had in office: one superficial peel, three medium depth peels , and one IPL session so far to help lighten some hyperpigmentation spots I have from sun damage thanks to being outside during Covid while pregnant and not reapplying sunscreen. It’s helped a lot so far. I plan on doing at least one more IPL and then some vascular laser sessions because thanks to the peels clearing things up, now I can see more capillaries all over. My goal is to have as much as possible to have my old even complexion again
Light TCA peels worked for me during my teens and early 20s especially for my post acne marks. I like the frosting effect on my face coz that's when I knew it worked
Can you do one for the body, and speak to the difference between the skin from your face and body? Why you can or can’t use product for the face or the body for both.
Thank you for this video!! I’m curious to know if you think tretinoin should be used leading up to an in-office chem peel…? I’ve been getting peels for about 20 years, and many years ago I was always told to stop tret 1 week prior to a peel. In the past few years, I’ve been told that the thoughts on this topic have changed, and tret can be used leading up to the peel (and actually boosts the peel’s effects). I’ve had dermaplaning prior to superficial chem peels and been told this boosts effects as well.
I will say that when it comes to in home products similar to the one they're talking about, I use them weekly and I never stop using my tretinoin. It hasn't ever given me any ill result, and I use a pretty high dose of tret.
Question! When you see propanediol in ingredients (like on this L'oreal product), is that 1,2-propanediol (which is also propylene glycol) or 1,3-propanediol? Asking because I know through allergy testing that I have a propylene glycol allergy, but I'm not sure if I need to avoid all products that also say propanediol. Thanks! Good video.
According to Paula’s Choice, propanediol is also known as 1,3-propanediol, and propylene glycol is also known as 1,2-propanediol. If you were tested for both but were only allergic to propylene glycol, it sounds like propanediol should be safe. Of course you should always patch test new products and stop use if you get irritation or an allergic reaction!
I’d love to know what you think about Biologique Recherche Lotion P50, especially 1970 which has phenol in it…? Says they can be used daily. Would really like your wisdom on that and how safe it is. Absolutely adore your videos and guidance as always!❤
Hey guys I know there's probably not very many of us But could you possibly Do a video on ehlers Danlos Syndrome Which effects our collagen and how we can go about achieving Treatments safely? Bonus if you talk about women losing estrogen
Bumping this as a fellow zebra! Id also like to know how defective collagen ends up with us having soft & velvety skin that tends to look younger Vs the average population.
@@cs4849 And if you look into the recent studies with astrogen You realize we need it. My bff died of breast cancer in 2015. I'm so sorry. There's got to be a.happy medium somewhere.....its so damn complicated!
I do glycolic acid peels on myself. I’ve been using these products from a company called PHBeautiful, for years. They are more on the strong side, but they have different levels. They’re very effective.
I had several chemical peels at my dermatologists office for my dark spots und hyperpigmentation. We did several treatments with increasing percentages every other week so my skin has time to calm down in between treatments and it did exactly nothing for me. My skin did not even react or peel or flake. Hyperpigmentation also looks the same, no result. I am wondering what they put in that chemical peel because the percentages were quite high…🤔
Hi Drs. I want to be knowledgeable before an aesthetic consultation for a medium chemical peel, I have IV based on Fitzpatrick with hyperpigmentation and melasma. Could you please made a video for this skin tone/concerns and the questions I should asked, so I make sure to do the treatment with someone that has experience. Also, what do you think about this in office chemical peel: 7% lactic acid, 7% salicylic acid, 7% resorcinol, and 9% mandelic acid. What is resorcinol? I don’t have scars on my face.
I think I used 6 bottles of the ordinary and didn't notice any difference, with the loreal within 1 bottle! It works really good for me for hyperpigmentation and acne and gives me a glowy skin.
Does anyone have experience using light chemical peels on their neck, chest, or hands? I’ve never done one before. Face only, or okay to apply different areas?
Any skincare I use on my face is going on my neck hands on a daily basis anyway, so since they're getting the 2%-7% toners on a daily basis I don't do any peeling there. For my body, I built up from 5% up to 20% (I alternate between lactic, and salicylic acids) and I do extra layers over KP, scars, and stretch marks. I've tried to do strengths high enough to have proper large-scale peeling (including targetted TCA over specific problems) but I hated the irritation of always having clothing rubbing on it. That's why I've settled on a slower but safer weekly/monthly routine.
I used a 30% tca peel to lighten stretch marks on my bum and now i have severe hypergigmentation. Like I destroyed my skin which was originally not that bad. My dermat said that even 12 pico laser sessions won't lighten it.
not going to lie i sense tension between you guys, as if you guys had an argument before filming or just had a disagreement or something about you guys looked off in this video.
Why put fragrance in a peel - or any skincare product, for that matter? If I want fragrance, I’ll wear a perfume! I won’t be using this product for that reason. A shame because I was interested until I heard it had fragrance.
In a peel I agree that it is counter productive, but when it comes to regular skincare then majority of consumers do want a sensorial experience provided by the fragrance and find the ones without it boring. Even more so, many products without fragrance would have a less than ideal smell of raw ingredients, which most people would refuse to tolerate.
@@rosej9686a singular peel probably wont as it is too deep in your skin, but consistent use of spf and gentle exfoliants on a regular basis usually get rid of them in most people.
@@rosej9686you might be right. I had a milia removed by my dermatologist. It was a very quick and simple procedure. After my skin healed from the tiny needle mark, it was as if the milia had never been there
I HAD A PEEL YEARS AGO BY A DR. AND I LOOKED LIKE A LIT 🔥 MATCH … TOOK ONE WEEK TO GET BETTER AND MY DEAD SKIN PEELED OFF ….WAS NOT PAINFUL AT ALL …COULD NOT GO OUT AT ALL AND HAD TO PROTECT MY FACE FOR AT LEAST 6 - 8 mo…….. IT WAS WORTH IT , MY SKIN WAS LIKE A BABYS FOR MANY YRS ……. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO ❤🎉
Sunscreen, hat, umbrella and long sleeves (if I have to be outdoors) are my combo to protect myself from the sun and I don't care if people make fun of me.
Hey, Dr Shaw and Dr Maxfield. Just wondering if you’ve done a review of Geologie Skincare and wondering if you could in the future, I think they’re pretty good but would love to know what yall think.
If you are prone to PIH, there's no guarantee even when in office, that you won't cause pigmentation issues. If you do anything at all, I would go very superficially depending on your goal (pigmentation, wrinkles, acne, etc ). It's integral to use a pigment inhibitor for weeks prior to any peel. I have Melasma and because I am a Fitzpatrick level 3 (typically level 3 and up can have more difficultly with PIH), I only use superficial ones and then avoid the sun like a vampire. Hope that helps ❤️
@@StefanieMorgan-b3r Agree. They wouldn't even do a peel on me the first time I went to a salon because I didn't have a skin care routine packed with all of those pigment inhibiting ingredients and was only using SPF in summer. Now I do lighter peels more often and have an arsenal of serums to back them up.
@@Gem-n-life Yes! Numbuzin No. 5, Naturium Tranexamic Acid, Facetheory Exoglow, Remedy Dark Spot Serum, Fade Bright by Platinum Skincare (this one I don't recommend for sensitive skin because it contains alcohol), Queen 7 in 1 Serum. These all contain more than one pigment inhibitor which I think is better than just having one. Urban Skin RX has a product called Cysteamine as well which can be safely used with any other active including heavier hitters like Hydroquinone. Hope that helps 🥰
Just whyyyyy Because of tretinoin's high turn over of dermis I have a face full of dead skin cells, even casual scrapping with finger nails will accumulate in the nooks and i cant use scrub because the skin is already irritated 😭
I would love a video about the Allies of skin brand! They are pretty expensive and i wonder if the ingredients and trials are as good as they say they are😊
I am terrified of peels, I would rather jump of a bridge than do a peel. My skin is very sensitive to the point that even just microdermabrasion destroyed my skin barrier and left my face feeling like fire for 2 weeks, I can barely use the acid serums you get over the counter. I wish I had more resilient skin that doesn't react to everything, I can't use glycolic acid either
The timing couldn’t have been better on this video! I’ve been watching all the Peel University videos from Platinum Skincare and have educated myself SO much on chemical peels for the past few months. I’ve been skin-prepping for an in-office TCA peel (35%) using Platinum’s products and the ones I already have. I want to do it in-office before I do them at home. My appointment is next Tuesday and I’m very excited for it! (And also a bit nervous)
