Derminator manufacturer/store here. It's a big misunderstanding that we "provide no warranty because the machine is so cheap". She unfortunately also repeated this three months ago in RU-vid comments. It's the opposite: Lifetime warranty. We prominently mention this on our website.
Derminator is brilliant. Use on fast setting at .75 it glides over face and effective. You can feel the face start to tighten afterwards. The slow and medium setting I hate because of the clicking sound
I have dr pen m8 and i microneedle my face ( beard area ) and my skin dont even get red , like its not penetrate. And do both stamping and drag at 1mm up to 2,5 mm. Can you tell me why it happens;
Thank you for the demonstration! I’m looking into purchasing one of these. I wonder if the Derminator causes tearing when used at the faster speeds. If so, I suppose I could use it at this slow of a speed, but it seems like it would take longer to adequately cover my face or scalp. I actually wonder how any electric needling device avoids causing skin tears. No matter how fast or slow the duty cycle is, it seems like there would have to be some brief periods where the needles would still be embedded in the skin as it’s being glided across the surface, creating slices. Maybe the slow setting you used is the key to not tearing the skin.
I've used it at the higher setting, the highest setting and found that there was no tearing but it does leave a lot more bleeding because the needle marks are much closer together and it's at a higher frequencies so it feels like you're beating the shit out of your skin. If you do buy it, I definitely would recommend using the medium setting
Thank you ! I was gonna try this myself cuz I have both Derminator 1 n 2 . I am gonna just use a stamping motion either way . But it’s cool to see it doesn’t slice . I tried a Dr Pen years ago just to test against the Derminator. No comparison ! I sent the Dr Pen back immediately. Mine was an early model and barely pierced my skin at all . Just scratched my arm where I tested it. I looked under a microscope and saw the scratching. I’m glad the Deeminator exists . It would be cool if it were more quiet . But other than that , it’s an amazing machine and I like the seller . The company has been very nice to me. 😊
Have you tried the Dr Pen A6S? I heard it is more comparable to the Derminator. I'm trying to decide between those two. I can get the A6S for half the price of the Derminator. Did you post the link to that numbing gel?? GREAT video!!!! Love the banana idea-brilliant!
The speed that Dr. Pen was set wss a lot faster compared to the speed of the derminator. The test should have been conducted at the comparatively same speeds.
I think I'll make a video so that you can see that the issue isn't speed but retraction of the cartridge head. Even at a fast speed you will see that the derminator retracts completely and the doctor pin does not
@@bootscooty Yes please do! I just left a comment about speed before seeing this comment. I’m leaning towards the Derminator 2 because I think it might penetrate deeper, but I’d love to see the kind of punctures it makes at higher speeds. I’m subscribing so I don’t miss it if you do get time to make another video. And thank you again for making this video. In the absence of lab studies comparing these types of devices, this video is extremely helpful.
Completely bogus test. 1. The speed of the derminator was a fraction of the Dr. Pen, thus the total number of incisions was waaay lower. 2. Look how much pressure was being applied when using the pen at 0:45, this appears to be deliberately higher in comparison to the derminator part. Someone needs to redo this in a controlled environment, because this "test" is completely worthless.
What if for the Dr pen, it looks like it’s lacerating but it’s actually just making a bunch of holes very close together due to its rpm such as the same concept of a tattoo gun drawing a line. It’s just poking you very fast but farther away it looks like a line. The derminator goes extremely slow compared to the pen so you won’t see the same results. I prefer the derminator before anyone thinks I’m biased
nah, there is a difference between the 0.5 and 2.5 holes They should look the same since its the same rpm. Dermapen is straight up scratching. There is another comparison on RU-vid called "Derminator no microtearing"
I've got both and they both work. I tell people if they plan on going deep, go for the derminator. But both will work. I prefer a stamping motion with a pen for deep needling. If all you can afford is a dr pen, and your worried, don't drag, STAMP. they're a good option
I want to preface this with the fact I have the original derminator and the deminator 2 coming in the mail, however I'd like to see the derminator set to its highest speed for this to be a true show down. Although, after everyone else's observations elsewhere, I'm pretty sure the pain from the pen vs the derminator is due to micro tearing..
Interestingly designed experiment. I tossed my Dr. Pen about 6 month ago and bought the derminator for my scalp needling/ minoxidil therapy - made a big difference. Three things I noticed: 1. Heals much faster after Derminator (probably because it doesn't slice skin, like you showed). 2. More "bloody" power (even if set to 1.5mm the Dr.Pen was unable to get to the preset depth) 3. Derminator cartridges are way higher quality (needles stay sharp for a long time and can be reused many times). Most importantly, I see the results with Derminator opposed to Dr.Pen that I used for over a year
Thank you for posting this. What are your thoughts on lifting the pen off the skin and then placing it back down adjacent to the area you just treated? As in, a stamping motion instead of gliding? I know this may take a little bit longer, but I still think this eliminates any chance/risk of tearing.
When it comes to the Dr Pen, that's exactly what I do. I don't drag it if the needles are poking through the lip. And it only does that at the very lowest mm settings so in my view, it's a necessity to stamp when you move up to lengths like 2mm.
If all you can afford is the Dr pen, it's still a good pen. I have both of them so I know how different they are. Derminator is louder and can be used in circles. If you have a dr pen and your worried about dragging, use a stamping motion. They both work either way. But if you plan on needling deep more often, get the derminator
The derminator seems that it is more effective and goes deeper. Because I have both and I use the same needling length on my face. But I never bleed with the dr. Pen (Ultima M8) as I do with the derminator 2. I have also studied other RU-vids using a dr. Pen and I never seen bleeding on them, as when someone using the derminator 👀 what are you thinking guys 🙊
What needle count were you using for the Dr.pen? I know you said 12 needle for the derminator. I tried this test with my Dr.pen A6S with 36 needle head at 1.5mm depth and got fine results on most speeds, very little if any ripping of the skin when dragged. It made very clean stabs on the skin for me at 1.5mm. 5 speed is my choice (6 is top speed). I do intend to get a derminator but that can take up to 3months so in the mean time the Dr. pen is acceptable.
@@bootscooty It could be, I have 16 needle heads but theyre all brand new and I didnt want to get them full of banana. I will say my scalp bleeds a little when I use the 36 needle heads so Im getting penetration of the skin.
@@djVania08 all the cartridges are designed to fit the head of whatever product it is you're using, there are options for needle counts of cartridges on the website of whatever product you're buying. You can get a single needle, 9 needle and a 12 needle for The derminator. And as far as reusing the cartridges goes, I reuse them but some people don't ever reuse them and then some people reuse them multiple times
there is a video on youtube called dermaroller vs dr pen that video also said that dermaroller made scratches on the scalp but dr pen did not. However, in this video you took, it is seen that this is not the case at all The real scratcher is dr pen
LoL. . . I just micro-needled my face yesterday with a Dr Pen A6S. Wish this video existed about 4 months ago. There's no way I'm spending more money on another device. Especially, so close.
@@bootscooty thanks! I need to try that the next time I micro-needle my face. I tend to do nothing for a couple of days because of the way I look afterwards. It isn't a big deal, but I do worry if it's causing some long term effects that I can't see quite yet.
Probably the most intelligent microneedling device ever made has to be the Derminator series. Their interactivity educates the user to consciously choose their microneedling experience.
I really advise against using the fast option, scarred your face like you can see with the banana peels. The derma pen would probably do the same job, If it would have a medium option like in the derminator.
It is absolutely impossible to get even the slightest "tearing" with the Derminator. The entire invention of the Derminator is all about its motor. It's so loud bec. it's so powerful that it is able to move so rapidly in and out of the skin that there can't be any tearing. We even show on our stire a video where, on the fast setting, there is no tearing under the microscope.
Use microneedling + minoxidil. Finasteride will help you block dhd, but you should do blood tests before to check your androgens and estrogen level. Check "More Plates More dates" channel for more information.
@@Yushimitsu already did bro. And yes i know fin+minox is the only option, but my heart isn't ready. Unfortunately I may be wasting time and I might regret and loose more ground if i continue this way
@@bootscooty every model has multiple speeds and that looks like the a7 which has 5 speeds so the only way it would have only one speed is if it is a different brand or a copy so I am confused? I am trying to decide which one I want at the moment so thanks for the video.
@@peacefullyme848 it's not multiple speeds for the Dr. Pen, it's multiple depths. The a7 operates on one speed at multiple depths while the derminator operates with multiple speeds and multiple depths.
@@bootscooty It has 5 speeds and multiple depths. Even the a1 dr. pen has 5 speeds. A couple of the models also have 6 speeds. If there is only one speed than that is a counterfeit product.
@@peacefullyme848 it does not have five speeds from what I have been able to gather, I bought my Dr pen directly from the company website and it does not have five speeds it only has five depths. It goes five depths at one speed
@@bootscootySo that means you're taking a risk when you buy this. How long have you had yours and have you had any kind of problems with it? Also, how many cartridges of the 9 needles and how many cartridges of the 12 noodles do you get with this? Thank you
@@HEADBANGRR can't remember at the moment. I've had a turbulent year or so and haven't used it in about that long. But had no problems in the 6 months or so of use. I recommend visiting their current website to get an idea of the cartridge count, as that seems to be something subject to change.
