Pre injury D Rose was sick! Fastest player with the ball…went straight to the rim nonstop! 22 y/o MVP. Think off all of the young players in the league now when they were/are 22 years old. LUKA, JA, BRON, GIANNIS, NIKOLA….as great as these players were when they were 22…None of them won MVP at 22. Shout out to D Rose…1 time for the 1 time!!
LeBron averaged 31.4 ppg 7 rebounds and 6.6 assist as a 21/22 year old. 31.4ppg in the dead ball era as a 21 year old is crazy. D rose was nice though, but not that level. They just wasn't giving Bron another MVP especially that first year in Miami.
I would take Bron and Luka 22 years old over D rose though. They were more refined. Luka was pretty close to the MVP last year if his team was better place.
To this day he truly remains one of the most beloved players in the league. It’s such a pleasure to see how grateful people are for the moments he gave us and his dedication. People know he’s one of the biggest what ifs in NBA history. A true legend in my book 🙏🏽

Drose I felt had better handles and moves in his toolbox. He was too tough to guard. I remember him dunking on Dragic with both hands. That blew my mind.

Gil doesn't know anything about cars. Derrick Rose had Ferrari knees. Fast, super fast but not durable in the long run. Honda knees are like LeBron...very durable and lasts a long time.
This is excellent self analysis. I remember watching the game against the then Charlotte Bobcats when Gil tore his knee up. He tried to get back and resume being the unstoppable scoring machine he was prior to the injury.
In theory it sounds good but in reality he's not a HOFer. Unfortunately it's not based on what you could've done but what you actually did do. D Rose hasn't done much since his injuries, and I don't think it's because he couldn't anymore, he is and has been scared to death to have another serious injury. Another one might've meant his playing days are over so I think his mindset was to take it easy and stay in the league over going hard and potentially losing it all.
He is not a Hall of famer, sorry he's not, no matter the respect we have for him. He is not. He only had 3 seasons averaging over 20 points, only a 3 time all-star, no chips, only 1 NBA ALL TEAM. I respect the guy, but he's not that dude averaging 5 points right now, in year 13. NOPE
Personally, i think anybody who wins MVP should automatically be guaranteed for the hall of fame. D Rose won MVP over many legends and future HOFer’s, and I believe that is what makes D Rose a HOFer himself.
