Larry Bird Said this about the GOAT Debate #larrybird #isiahthomas #reggiemiller #lebronjames #kareemabduljabbar #michaeljordan #stephencurry #kobebrayant #nba #basketball #nbahistory #goatdebate #goat
How can I enjoy him when I hate him? My friends hate him, my family hates him, my father, my brothers everybody hates him 😡 Edit: If this speaks to you, you're beyond help. Only Jesus can save you. The real Jesus, not the slaveship one To reiterate, that was a troll
You are exactly correct the haters have no clue how to enjoy something amazing lebron is a one in a million player there will not be a lebron for a long time I remember missing Jordan being in the game when he retired also Kobe I thought Kobe would play forever
Look fellas. Larry Bird the man is humble. As the player goes. He was arrogant, obnoxious at times and the one guy you never wanted to piss off. He'd make you consider an alternative form of employment.
Maybe now, But Larry legend was not a humble player. He came to a 3 point contest and asked “who’s coming in second place today” . Well, nobody still can remember who came in 2nd but Larry damn sure came in first!!
That's a man supremely confident in his abilities. Just think how many games where that confidence alone was the margin between victory and defeat. There's a reason they call him Larry Legend. BTW, I'm a sixty year Lakers fan.😁
@@stanleyfevrierrealtyhe literally said he knew he was great and didn’t care what others thought of his game! Yeah that’s what the guy you talking about basically did
@@IScoreUnderPressure4LeBron is the king of turnovers the king of missed field goals the king of final loses the king of flopping the king of jumping to good stacked teams 😅 the king of missed three points too hooo and its the only one who has been sweeped in the finals what a greatness here !!!
Love Larry's philosophy ... You don't need to tell anyone how great you are, if you're as good as you think you are, they will tell you. Just know your own abilities, do your thing, and let your game speak for itself. Larry's never been afraid to acknowledge and pay respect to the talents of any player.
Listening to Larry Bird you'll always learn something new about NBA Basketball and life itself! Larry speaks the unvarnished truth! Quote by WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE ~ "No legacy is so rich as honesty."
That's NOT what he said. He basically dissed those who didn't recognize hus contributions but made DAMN sure you know LEBRON is one of the GREATEST if not THE GOAT... Dare ANYONE to disagree with Larry Legend... He won't say it if he didn't mean it and KNOWS what he's talking about!!! Mic Drop.. He played against Jordan but made it a point to speak about LeBron SPECIFICALLY...
@@apostlej.k.diamond4119lmao as an LBJ fan that is not what I heard. He mentioned Lebron because, as great of a player as he is, he garners a lot of hate. He never implied he was the greatest, just to appreciate his contribution instead of spewing hatred because people like MJ or someone else better.
@@user-fs1gd6iy1ulove Shakespeare quotes so much wisdom wrapped poetically. Oh yeah this was about basketball players. I admire Larry's philosophy and I get bored with long winded conversations about " Who's the greatest ?"
But more than that, is all the discussions by his peers, telling us of his exploits. From the first days he was in the Celtics, guys making fun of the new guy, and finding out he was the real deal, to all the tales about the amazing things he could do, it will all make a great movie someday.
That man would tell you what he was gonna do, and you couldn’t stop it. Then proceeded to do exactly what he said he would do to you. Larry Legend Ladies and Gentlemen!
Only white dude who could walk down Crenshaw in Compton, and get respect and requests for autographs. He commanded respect, and that transcends racial crap
best answer about the goat was MJs answer. he didnt even consider himself the GOAT because he respects the greatness of the players before him. thats greatness
Definitely agree!! I know Allen Iverson wasn’t the goat but he’s my goat he’s my favorite player of all time and idgaf what anyone’s says because logically I know there isn’t a goat basketball player just by stats that isn’t the whole thing to judge by Style of basketball, the way they play the game, how they carry themselves, do they play hero ball or team ball and sh** like that. I like Jordan, Bird, Magic, Shaq Wade, Curry, lebron, Dirk, Kobe, KD, Booker, spida, SGA, Luka and Tatum to name a few but I don’t like to argue who’s best it’s a pointless, biased and ridiculous argument because everyone has a different opinion. There is no GOAT just enjoy your favorite player, team and have fun watching them while we can because soon enough a lot of these guys won’t be playing anymore and guess what lol mfers still gonna have pointless never ending debates about who’s the goat Until we get a 7ft Kobe,Curry lebron-ish hybrid player made in a laboratory in Europe I doubt we’ll have a true…H1M😂
Yes. Whenever I avoid answering questions, people lavish praise on me as well, and believe I'm playing 4D chess. Meanwhile, they still await an answer. 🤣
So humble yet so arrogant aswel(in a classy way only bird seems to pull off.) The celtics had a poor record the season before he joined and he helped turn them into 1 of the greatest teams to play the game.
@@johnkeros9109 he was arrogant enough to know his celtics were 1 of the best sides in the league but also humble enough to say mj was God in disguise. Your confusing arrogance with confidence.
Two of the best shooters to ever put on a uniform, Reggie Miller and Larry Bird. Don’t forget both played on the 1992 “Dream Team” with Jordan, Malone, Barkley and Stockton.
How's it arrogant? He said he knew how good he was meaning he knew his skill level and that his team would usually win that's honest what'd they win almost 80% of their games when he was in his prime? Those lines aren't humble or arrogant just factual.
Thank you Larry, somebody finally said it the right way. Quit comparing it's an assault on all the players just so you or whoever wants to put these poor guys out there
Larry Bird was my P.E. Assistant at Springs Valley in French Lick, Indiana. It was amazing to watch Larry through the years. Larry helped teach me to be the best I could be. I was alway so proud of Larry watching him in high school, college and the pros. Larry made me proud to be "A Hick from French Lick."
I saw larrys last few seasons and was always so jealous of my dad because he was able to witness him play and see my Celtics win 3 championships ...Larry is so respected here in Boston for a reason he was a blue collared guy and went out to win at all cost and talked smack doing it .
This is why he is Larry Legend. You know the man held a lot of his predecessors as well as his contemporaries in high regard. He also looks to the future. If you want a Mt. Rushmore for basketball, go to the hall of fame.
Way back players I'd love to see in today's game... Pistol, Barry, West, Robertson, Russell, Wilt, Cousey, Hondo, Baylor, Ice-man, and I'm sure I'm missing a few.
@@Ashamed.Loser69Whats wrong with him mentioning Russell? Watch his highlight tapes. Dominant defender, all time rebounder, could run like a gazelle... and more rings than fingers to boot. Russell could absolutely thrive in today's game.
That is the most honest and transparent answer that I’ve seen and heard over many different interviews reason being each of these players to have been effective the confidence to feel that they were the best thing on the floor, no matter what
This is the response to any true fan of Basketball. Just enjoy the game and stop creating additional division as if we don't have enough of that already.
A Legend being humble and appreciating every great player for their talent. He is right, comparison and rankings aren't important even how you win as long ad you win championships like Shaq says.
The absolute best era in basketball was when Bird and Magic came into the league. We lived Lakers, Boston ,and Philly in my neck of the woods. Those rivalry's were on a whole another level. That's a FACT!!!
I've watched a lot of really great players in the NBA since 1960, and Bird is the greatest I've ever seen because of the complete game he had. He had no weakness' really.
I never watched him play, but the fact MJ started winning when the Celtics and Lakers were on the decline showed how great they were. Larry> Mickey Jordan
@@jonshaqqir4575It shows Jordan beat teammate in the 80s was young Charles Oakley. Celtics and Lakers weren't on the decline in 90-91. They had a better supporting cast than the Bulls
If you look at all the GOAT discussion guys, they always throw it to another guy or guys. Kareem throws it to Russell. Magic to Michael. Larry to Magic. Even Michael throws it to Kobe.
He's the best overall player I've ever seen, with jokic possibly taking that spot before he retires. With his play style he could go 20 years and break most records
But let's be honest Lebron brings that stuff to himself sometimes. Lebron had a great career. The best of his era but if he retired tomorrow the game won't stop like it did after Jordan's second retirement.
But we look at both a players best parts of their game and the one that are weak. When you look at the weakest part of a players game you need to think about how weak ot is it compared to other players not just of todays game but in the players of the past. All players go through this and nobody is expemt. Some people don't like when it is put out in the open for everyone to hear. It is like that in every sport.
I love how he mentioned his confidence. Confidence is the most important attribute you need to have as an athlete and as a person without you are nothing and nobody. If you don’t believe that you are the best player in the game you will never ever play like it
Well Larry, even though you say "different eras, different players," I still watch videos of YOU (and the Celtics that played so well with you). You, sir, are my favorite player ever. #LarrytheGOAT.
@@kkrstudioshow is it inefficient? kareem shot 55 percent from the field for his entire career with majority of those made with the skyhook(from distances of up to 20 feet on the sideline)while the greatest shooter of this generation(all time acdg. to the new generation) steph curry shoots 47 percent from the field and it becomes more inefficient when he shoots the three at 42 percent.. not sure what you are on but you need to get off it bro..
@@judas_bdb8681 Also make sure that u tell people that Larry had 4 other HOF with him while MJ had older players & druggies on the team #FACTS smfh. A VERY CASUAL comment son
Bill Russell was the Greatest as the rings and banners tell it all. Thought basketball was played for that. His personal accolades speak volumes as well. Long live the real Goat Bill Russell RIP Sir
Technically, you really can't have a G.O.A.T. in TEAM sports. The entire Team contributes to the success of that particular team. Russell didn't play by himself. He was primarily known for his defensive play, not his offense. He was an integral part of A TEAM. Offensively, in the NBA, there could be named G.O.A.T.s, like Bird said, from every era. Nobody could come close to match Wilt's offensive prowess of the sixties. The seventies had their special players. The eighties we know of Magic, Bird, Jordan. Then, Kobe, LeBron, Curry. So many truly great players. To name just one player above the others is to do a disservice to the many other good players on the same teams as those players who contributed to the overall success of those teams.
I love the goat discussions--- because it doesn't matter what era you played in or what the rules were, the goal was always the same--- to win a chip. it really is not about who has the most... for me, it 's about how far a player would go and what they would do (or did) to get one.
THE BIRD IS THE WORD.....THIS CONVERSATION IS PERFECT TWO FKN SHARPSHOOTER'S..HALLOF FAME BALLERS ....THANK. YOU LORD FOR BIRTHING ME OLD SCHOOL HS CJASS OF 85 ABRAHAM LINCOLN CONEY ISLAND NYC.... LOVE YOU GUYS
Love Larry but Michael was better defender than Larry. Michael is also the only player in the history of the nba to lead the league in scoring and the regular and post season, win regular season mvp and finals mvp, win the championship and was first team all defense and he did it 4x’s none else had done this once.
@@JC-db7so Stop writing crap. I am not a millennial. Does it seem to you that a millennial knows who was Larry Bird? If I say that Larry Bird was better than MJ, it's because I saw him play. You're a fool.
