I think Erin, Orla and James are about 25 and Claire and Michelle 33. And to think people complained about Connell and Marianne’s actors’ ages in Normal People. They played people from age 18-22 and their ages during filming were 21 and 23.

I really don't know if there's a protestant / catholic divide on ABBA and I think the script is being silly taking it to extreme s but ABBA are very camp / cheesy / bit disco were massive in the 70s so maybe it's the perception that Protestants are more puritanical and straight and square while catholics are seen as maybe more up for cheesy music and fun.

Michelle's poem was really good. It's evocative, has a strong rhythm, and a clear structure, with powerful imagery. "I think boys are really class, especially the ones who have a nice arse."

Try out this old canceled show called Dead Like Me. It's a lot different but also very sharp. It is about a bunch of reluctant grim reapers who hate being grim reapers (they look like normal humans though). Anyway, it's clever and very funny.

Next to Sister Michael, Ms De Bhrun has got to be one of my top characters in this show, despite only appearing in a single episode. The way that she bluntly calls out Clare trying to suck up to her, Erin's overinflated ego of her poetry and "failing to be bold", and actually complements Orla's drawing of a dog!🐕 My favourite line of hers- Michelle: "I'd call it a haiku". Ms De Brun: "That's not what I'd call it"!😂

Favorite line “I think I just had Stockholm Syndrome” lol But seriously I just saw this on Netflix and it was great! It was once again sweet and moving. It also made me somewhat sad as I am old enough to remember the Clinton Presidency and how big of a deal our involvement in the peace process was. How things have changed 😞

The polar bear episode was brilliant. Especially when Orla say, "maybe someone gave it a lift", in reference to someone driving the polar bear to the concert. God was that good and I laughed so hard.

oh my goodness.....I cannot wait for Netflix to get the Series 2, and 3 and you know!! I laugh out loud, and have to say thank you. It could be like a "Coronation Street" in terms of longevity and world wide love of a show. It is about time for Irish TV to shine!

Really looking forward to more development on the James & Erin front in the next series! I’m not expecting them to be a thing for a long time, but seeing them grow a little closer & exploring that wee spark they have will be glorious. Lisa McGee is a genius so I have no worries if they decide to go down that route for them. I mean, think of the comedic possibilities!

Tbh...it's the one thing I'm not looking forward to. .....why can't they all be just platonic friends. ...why do they have to force a romance. ....it's so cliche....I'm ok with hooking them up with some1 outside the group. ....but not derry girls within themselves. ....

rash I think it’s pretty natural for long term friends to become romantically involved, it happens in real life all the time. And I’m not worried about how they’ll be written either, because again, Lisa does such a good job with them individually.
