The "Unsinkable Molly Brown" handed out oars to the other women in that lifeboat. She showed them how to row so they could keep themselves warm. Cause 'Murica.
nearly everything in the bottom 4 tiers either doesn’t exist, doesn’t have a solid definition, or it’s meaning is entirely irrelevant and probably no one believes in them. There are quite a few in the middle that are annoying to find a solid definition for tho.
Peronism is impossible to define, even for us Argentinians. Their party changed positions so much throughout its existence, and also so many other parties claiming to be peronist were created, it doesn't even make sence sometimes. If we read the basics of the Justicialist Doctrine wrote by Perón himself, it is pretty much fascism, at the same time, we had the peronist right and left movements killing each other in the 70's. PS: They're still in power.
I think the best part about that is how basically all ideologies in latter tiers were created in jreg's subreddit you did this, jreg you did this to the world
I’d be genuinely interested in a series where jreg just learns about niche political ideologies, don’t care if every episode was an hour long id love it

the fact that "how tall is contrapoints" just pops up when you search for left reactionnary is simultaneously the most logical and the weirdest thing about this whole video

Situtationists were saying you could be a "Conscientious objector" to Capitalism when Capitalism has been digging into our unconscious since forever and now basically nests there.
I just came up with a new ideology of Marginalism. It's when everyone attempts to be as marginal in their cultural tastes and sensibilities, and as socialy awkward as possible, resulting in social relations breaking down and everyone just trying to stay away from everyone else to just indulge in their own individuality. Any kind of fitting-in, attempts to form collectives or common culture are deemed evil in this ideology, because it sacrifices some of the uniqueness of the individual.
Conforming to the social consensus that consensus is bad is in of itself a common culture- being unable to express one's individuality with other people because of cultural taboos is pretty anti-individualistic. Cool meme ideology though, I could see a culture based on this (Arguably liberal and neoliberal philosophy already has this sort of cultural fetishization of the individual consumer, though)
@@beansworth5694 However there's no need to have a social consensus on this. Individuals who fall into this ideology just marginalize themselves away from other people, maybe to the point of living alone in caves or abandoned anti-missile shelters, without even knowing or caring whether there is or isn't any kind of consensus. Yes there're some surface level commonalities with liberalism, but there's a kind of absolutist moral imperative at play at the metaphysical level which I think separates this one from other ideologies; individuality does not NEED to be expressed in any way, it just IS, it's the bedrock, most important core value; any kind of cultural expression of it requires a degree of conformity and compromise, if only to make it intelligible to other people, and so is to be deemed a moral vice. But I haven't really thought this one through any further in the 5 minutes it took to come up with it :)

Peronism is both left wing and right wing because Perron saw italy, misunderstood everything he saw, became a socialist but called himself a fascist, then became a fascist, and then people called themselves perronist despite the fact that peronism is meaningless.
That genuinely reminds me of ba'athism! Theres something kind of interesting in how these Third Worldist ideologies (ie; established in the cold war period by neither eastern or western blocs) like... do their thing.
"Mussolini was the greatest man of our century, but he committed certain disastrous errors. I, who have the advantage of his precedent before me, shall follow in his footsteps but also avoid his errors." "Italian Fascism led popular organizations to an effective participation in national life, which had always been denied to the people. Before Mussolini’s rise to power, the nation was on one hand and the worker on the other, and the latter had no involvement in the former. In Germany happened exactly the same phenomenon, meaning, an organized state for a perfectly ordered community, for a perfectly ordered population as well: a community where the state was the tool of the nation, whose representation was, under my view, effective. Whoever has lived during this period in Damascus will appreciate the inclination of the Arab people to Nazism, for Nazism was the power which could serve as its champion, and he who is defeated will by nature love the victor. But our belief was rather different..... We were idealists, basing social relationships on love. It really indicates a very pragmatic approach to picking and choosing from other non-Arab ideologies to support your own ideals and to get international support. There’s an issue with Icebergs where people define the lower tiers as both more messed up and less well known when those things aren’t necessarily correlated. I just wanted to mention one interesting ideology which, I'm sure, wasn't mentioned in the list. It could be called "Ruhnamism". It was actually put into practice in Turkmenistan. It's based on the book "Ruhnama", written by the first Turkmenian president (he was a dictator and made people live according to his will). It contains certain set of rules (9 rules) and ideas invented by the author. I love the last rule from the set - "dress up girls".

Pretty sure Fordism is more centered on the hypothetical society laid out in Huxley's "Brave New World" (given the importance of the character of Henry Ford in the novel's setting) rather than the actual business philosophy of Henry Ford, but I could be misinterpreting what the iceberg maker meant.

14:09 Ilminism was actually a thing, and put into practice. As a Korean I think I've somewhat learnt it in my national history class in high school.. So long story short, 1. Ilminism is Korean Facism practiced in 1950s. 2. Liberal party is nowhere liberal, the rightwing authoritarians just wanted to have a nice name. And here's my explanation. Following the Pacific War, Korea was liberated from JP rule, only to be militarily occupied by US and Soviets. During the occupation, right wing politicians including Rhee remained in South, and they had to figure out how to unify the peninsula and run the nation when the occupation is over. Ilminism focuses on the Korean "ethnicity" in order to make Korea(South for now, but hopefully unified) a functioning nation state. Everyone with Korean ethnicity shall be treated equally, without discrimination upon sex, region of birth, etc. The president is responsible for guiding his people and taking the principle into policies in order to construct national unity based on Korean ethnicism. So Jreg kinda got it right, it is somewhat of a Korean facism. Ilminism is practiced by president Rhee, until the dictator was impeached in 1960. Following presidents of Korea didn't really care about the Ilminist policies, so it has been forgotten anyways. Nowadays no right wing authoritarians really remember the idea after their high school history class exams. And by the way, Rhee's "Liberal" Party was not liberal at all, while their opponent Democratic Party wasn't quite pro-democratic. After naming the ruling ideology of South Korea "liberal democracy", the politicians wanted to have names that fits with what their ideologies should be.

Peronism, in its original form, was a mix of basically everything that was happening in the world: Peron was influenced by Hitler or Mussolini in his manners and in the way he controlled the masses, (BUT, and the same time, he had sympathy towards Israel and was elected in *mostly* free and fair elections), his economic and social policies were very similar to those implemented by FDR or british labourism, and the way they were implemented had a close resemblance to Stalin, since they were basically Five-year plans. After a coup ousted him in 1955, he went into exile and then a really heavy shitstorm began, with some of his followers going to the far-left (in the form of armed guerrillas) and others going far-right (in the form of paramilitaries/death squads). Nowadays Peronism is mostly on the center-left when it comes to social/cultural policies, and slightly protectionist/nationalist on economic policy, with a heavy (at least on its discourse) leaning towards developing national industry.
