Had no idea the redbook was original to the Mac version. I would stick the discs in my CD player at night while I was going to sleep back in the day, and they were some of the first mp3s I ever ripped. Still have those files on my phone.
I always found the Adlib soundtrack sounded better than the MIDI soundtrack. But the one for Mac is undeniably awesome! I just wish there was more songs featured from the DOS version of that quality, so I can use them in D1X Rebirth, even if they were done by fans!
I love both soundtracks and versions but it's a shame that Overdrive never made it to the PS1 port. I grew up with the DOS original but primarily Descent II on Windows 95 and later DOS/source ports.
I happen to still have the Mac Descent soundtrack on my computer; although, I'm not particularly fond of it. Some of the tracks have not been played in nearly a decade. I never played the game on Mac or otherwise, so there is little nostalgia for the music. They served as filler for my music library as acquiring music I was interested in was both difficult and required money I didn't have at the time.
