I like how you say, "disgusting amount" of units. Like... Officer: Sir, they have twenty railguns coming in from the east! Commander: Twenty? Ew, that, is, like, SO passe. Did they even accessorize with, like, a support cruiser? Officer: No, sir, just some LAVs- Commander: Okay, no. We are a classy military force, tell them they need to update their war-drobe. Get it? Officer: ... we just lost our FoB, sir. Commander: To that riff-raff? Ugh, how gauche. Send them a STRONGLY worded nuke. I am so done. Officer: We don't have nukes yet, sir- Commander: Whyever not? It's the "art" of war, not the "let's not nuke a disgusting amount of railguns" of war!

A game mode for this I can think of can be called deadly alliance after one player is down the game will ask if you want to team up to take out the player with the most eco.
love this game, I hope it eventually becomes popular (more). crazy how online is starkly different compared to campaign, you can see the indifference in sending the poor skimmers to die, but online is where sweet crossing the T and formation combined arms stuff happens.
Hot take: Soban is uniquely cut out for FFA games. Enough ALM abuse gives them excellent vision and map control in the late game, and once they snowball and get enough rails on the field they're almost impossible to stop. Does this line up with your experience?
subparmusician Dealing with Soban late game is a major pain in the ass in general, but I can see your line of reasoning. Its probably as you say. I have only played maybe 4 or 5 FFA's ever, so my own experience is quite limited
I like FFA and TA's (which I would like to see more of). Nice cast. OBTW, Soban, with the entire side of a map to resource is known as a "Clear and Present Danger". ;)

What is all this map rotation good for? I mean you do it all the time. Everytime when you look at units and something and in between also. It makes it ultra messy to follow the progress of the players as every player gets represented from a different angle every 5 seconds with a minimum of 90° change. WTF? Do you truly think randomly turning makes replays better?
Mask, unfortunately your side of the map was very uninteresting to watch so i think he made the right call. You still have a lot to learn about this game and you made a ton of noobish mistakes. You don't have a grasp of how the line of sight and elevation mechanics work in this game, you don;t understand the correct rock-paper-scissors of the units and you have a very slow reaction time. You wasted a ton of AAVs into the enemy's RGs and you never even considered teching to strike fighters. When fighting against a Soban you KNOW he will always go for RGs because the SB RGs are just so good, so you must prepare in time with a mass of LAVs/skimmers and/or a lot of air units to kill the RGs. You did none of those things. AAVs dont help you at all against a Soban, except for keeping a few in defense near the salvagers as mobile turrets. Against Soban you need mass LAVs and RGs with a bit of air units mixed in. Arty cruisers are great when you have the upper hand and you are trying to break the enemy lines. I suggest you watch a lot of the games posted by Dreamlands and Magpie so you can learn the tactics and also keep practicing. Good luck!
