Some feedback (this is Xenofix, btw): 1. At 41 minutes you say dragon might have crashed, he didn't. You kicked him just moments ago. He did scuttle his mothership without saying anything though, so I'm still a tad bit salty about that. 2. You don't get units from lost teammates automatically, they have to transfer the command manually. You can see some unit trading going on on team Red. Toby had some Taidaan units given to him by his teammate. 3. You can see our chat because you're technically our ally, hence the yellow symbols. I should have used the Whisper option to talk to dragon directly, but it didn't occur to me at the time. 4. And lastly the gravity well affect units by all players, so I didn't use them when you first noticed them because my light strike craft would be affected. Also the salvage corvettes work differently from capture units of hiig or vaygr. They will try to move the ship inside of mothership to capture it. I didn't really stand a chance, but I thought it would be fun to use them anyway. But all in all it was pretty fun game, and it's nice to see your perspective and the things I missed myself while playing.

Yeah, it was good thinking to kick him to make things more smooth. It just was funny to listen to you speculating on what might have happened moments after you kicked him.
Great gameplay man, thought you had it won for a bit. How much do you focus on expanding at the beginning? And how often do you harass resourcing with bombers? People used to do that to me all the time back in the day..
I don't bother attacking with strike craft enemy resourcing, unless there is a clear opening. Once I get to frigates, then I move in. Strike craft are there to protect me from enemy harassing my resourcing.
Dragon Templar did state that he was a noob, so go easy on him. He might have stayed longer and learned more for next time if he didn't feel like he was holding you back Xeno
Just a couple of notes. I transferred the fighter swarm to Toby around 14:40 so the 20:34 gravwell fighter swarm cleanup was just Toby. I wasn't in that fight, later I sent him a missile destroyer for the fighters he was having issues with. Unfortunately I am pretty bad about seeing messages so I was late in helping him. I was not greedy, I was smart, you have to know the map and the resourcing of the faction you play. HW1 races need to have 2-4 more res spots than hw2 races to be able to compete with Hiigaran and Vaygr resourcing speed. HW1 carries more but is so much slower. Hyperspace gates require two gates and 1000 RU to connect them but they don't work in a gravwell field either. I never noticed he gave me a gate though I did use the resource collectors he passed me. I will try to look in to getting set up with discord so I can be on voice next time. By the way you were allied with Xeno and Dragon so that is why you could see their chat.
Alpha1SLS Very good, thank you. When you give units to another player, their name will appear on those units I would imagine? I was mostly keeping track of who was doing what by color and composition by the mid game. Great insight tho, thanks again.
Hey brother ColdspyderSLS here, I hope your doing well under the current circumstances, I finally bought " Homeworld",just in case your show up my friend.
I played homeworld 1 in 1999 on my 64 MB RAM celeron 366 cpu with integrated GPU with 8 MB of RAM. It worked, witha bit reduced detail but i was amazed how well it worked.
I love this game so much, it's truly one of the best strategy games of all time. Thank you for casting these awesome matches between these fantastic players. And we finally get to see a Hyperspace Jump at 23:15 by Xenofix, shortly followed by a jump from DragonTemplar4! It's really surprising how few there are in these battles, especially since they are an invaluable part of the game and can really turn the tide when done right. I can't wait for HW3 to come out.
Woah, those were some very nice plays. It's kinda like watching a football game; pick a side at the beginning and root for them all the way! By the way though; any thoughts of spicing up your homeworld content by casting modded games such as the Halo or Battlestar Galactica mods? I know that would be cool to see.
Another great game, love watching Homeworld Remastered more than Deserts of Kharak, since it is a much more beautiful looking game. Not that there is anything wrong with DOK, but it just is so much more pleasing in watching gigantic space battle play out. Looking forward to another cast from you, Dreamlands. 39:55 - wow, rage quit :P Played multiplayer some years ago, before HW:RM. On Hamachi, GameRanger and Tunngle, after Gamespy lobby was deleted (Homeworld 2). So, I think, time to come back. Maybe in the end of this month?
Really cool game, such a shame I suck at multiplayer HW:R/DoK, even the AI kicks my butt. Anyways, maybe with more practice, one day I could participate in those games :P
Does anyone use carriers or support frigates to warp units behind enemy lines to flank? Because there a lot of battle I saw. Where they could have done it. But otherwise else these are the most epic ,biggest space battles I’ve seen and logical. Keep it up dreamland.
I was doing too much, to the point where i was sucking up more resources than i could harvest.... Probably should've gotten more resource collectors instead of trying to be aggressive in the early game. noted for next time. ( I also forgot to upgrade my units >--------
Dragon Templar4 I wouldnt worry about it, happens to all of us. You were doing fine, just should have pulled back when you saw all the frigs and gotten more units. You had good composition, just needed to preserve your units early in those first few fights. I look forward to future games :)
For maximum RU you want to have a few coll waiting for the coll that are currently mining to finish, that way there is no downtime on actual mining of that asteroid. Also defending more than 3 expansions is rather difficult especially when you're facing enemies that will not hesitate to deal eco damage. In regards to hyperspace gate the way it works is (research the tech first obv) then you need 2 gates minimum (you can have 3 but only 2 can be linked together at a time unless you have 2 separate pairs). It costs iirc 1k RU to link them and they will stay open for destroyers and anything smaller to pass through.
is there a vid explaining what each faction is good at and what their advantages or disadvantages are? im especially interested the difference between hw1 factions vs hw2 factions, i mean their research stuff are so different, doesnt that make a huge balance issue? idk, im new and im so bad that im stuck in the campaign mission where u get ambushed by a buncha movers
Follow individual ships a bit more zoomed in. You did it a bit more in the end, and I think the game really benefits from due to the scale not showing us more than motherships otherwise. Either pick a big ship getting focused or something at the edge providing a good view. Or in a smaller fight follow strike craft dodging and weaving. Ofc you and the viewer also needs situational awareness (and you need to navigate) so I won't be all the time, but switch to a cameraman mindset from time to time. Keep something in the foreground of a beautiful scene, and if you want to get fancy try yourself a slow and steady pan.
Dreamlands I understand that it can be hard to do in a live cast were you have to keep track of what's happening. Keep up the good work love your casts and heed the other suggestion of doing tactics and faction breakdowns when you get more knowledgeable (or maybe as a way of picking up that knowledge)
@@Self-replicating_whatnot It used to be trial and error on the older maps. What they are doing now, I'm not sure. I just reinstalled Home World last night. I haven't imported any newer maps yet. Plus, I mainly played the first Home World with just rocks, not much with the collectors hauling back scrap.
Tbh i felt the match was kind of unfair considered HW1 fighters can be deploy 1 at a fast paced, has more ships options with multiple turrets while HW2 deploy 5 at a long duration, limited amount of ships to build that only has 2 or 1 turrets, as much as i love HW2, the game itself was kind of a downgrade when come to story (the story was still good but it felt rushed) and ships (where the salvage corvette, support frigate??), i have high hopes for HW3, and really hope gearbox wont be tainted by it from what happen to HW:R
