This video is a recording is my presentation for the Bridges math/Art conference of 2021. You can read my paper here: archive.bridgesmathart.org/20... You can see some of my fractal curves here: fractalcurves.com/
Your 5-fold video tells me a lot “You have 6 dimensions in your manifold You like music by Avenged 7-fold Your mesons are 8-fold Your problems have increased 10-fold Your kitty cat is a Scottish Fold I don’t know any other folds” - Paul Oakenfold
I See Dragons.. They def rely on this geometry, tho there is an additional constraint of figure ground similarity.. the way that pine trees reveal pine tree shaped sky. I found this space by recognizing the two triangles formed by golden ratio length edges.. and how they cut each other in the other and themselves, a fractal property and the why phi is so powerful; by defining its own metric basis. I call the two "long" when there's two long sides and one short, and "short" when there's two short sides and one long. A "flow dragon" is a long paired with a short, or a pentagon with a long tail. Often the pentagon is the center of a vortex, with a tapering snout. I made a set of these tiles out of a Rubbermaid bin lid that were very useful. Once you see these shapes, you can't unsee them. They are the root fractal of any system that has flow, so everything. Often they are distorted by affine transforms, smeared, or overlaid with each other. Living systems have taken greatly to these maths via evolution and the authority of water. 🐉 💦 Here's a video I made in the 90's using a cutting disc method. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--MkltiSnfHU.htmlsi=fcjJvh69tzMFavoY This is 2d shadow of a multiD fractal rotating. I wish I still had this platform.. I could adapt this geometry readily. Truly lovely find. Thx youtube!
