Great ideas! Probably some of the most necessary, however one thing that valve really MUST do is make the gameplay-based travelling hats (most duels, doms, etc.) is have it only count things done on official matchmaking servers. The dueler is quite literally worthless because it can ONLY be achieved by spending literal hours on a heavily custom server constantly farming duel wins via scripts. It easily requires hundreds of fake wins just to get it once, which due to how duels work in general, is nigh impossible without using scripts and custom servers. And while it might be reasonable to have it compatible with purely vanilla servers without any sort of script, it would still often end up being unfairly farmed, ruining the spirit of it.
İve only seen 1 travelling hat in my playtime and it was on a cheater on scream fortress. İ was like "holy moly this guy has the duel hat!" and screenshotted it after a while my whole team started to get suspicious of him using wallhacks and i didnt really belived that but after a round where he picked sniper and started shooting everyone snappin 90 degrees we figured it out and kicked him. BUUUT after my contract was done i queued for a match at Perks and he was on the server. İ imidiatly said the enemy team that they got a cheater. But he was whit his friends who f2ed the vote cus not enough of the enemy team not f1ing. After a long match of bad words and seeing him on my death cam multiple times i got autobalanced and with the help of saying "WE HAVE A CHEATER F@ F1!!" İn voice chat instead of text we got him kicked. İts sad that these fun and cool hats just get taken by cheating oxygen wastes.
the RPC hat should be The Tosser's Topper. thats like. easy. the crafting hat could include both crafting hats and weapons, but also creating scrap. obviously moving between metal levels is free so dont include that, but that should at least offset the economy tanking somewhat... as for the crate hats name. uh. The Key Player? The Gambler's Gold? Saxton's Whale (with a description talking about how saxton doesnt know what a whale means in terms of money and just wants to fight it). Since there's crates & cases i dunno if the name should only reference one. Also another idea: The Metal Mann's Money Shot (name suggestions welcome), awarded to the player who killed the most robots in MvM the past day.
Better idea: make the crafting travelling hat into a massive metal sink by making it track who's crafted the most hats in a day. Now people are dumping oodles of refined into random craft hats, which will actually reduce metal inflation.
Okay, so, the reason that no additional "travelling hats" exist, is because the 3 hats we have no do NOT change how people play the game. You don't have to engage in a certain play style to buy stamps, win duels, or send gifts, so these hats are not incentivizing a specific way of playing. Imagine the RPS hat comes out, suddenly a quarter of every single server is JUST people playing Rock, Paper, Scissors. The Domination/Revenge hats and Killstreak hats aren't as bad, but the Killstreak hat does still incentivize forcing a "I'm going for killstreaks, not to help my team win or anything," which means you'll play specific maps or engage with specific playstyles. I think the reason the Philateler hat exists is to reward a player for doing a nice thing, incentivizing COMMUNITY. Opening cases is purely a self-service, so a hat that promotes that would not just be incredibly scummy, but promote a pretty toxic reason to open cases. Turning the simple, personal, and addictive "fun" of opening cases into a competition is a horrible idea. The crafting hat isn't as bad, that's whatever, but it's also purely a self-service. You can just buy a whole butt ton of weapons, craft them into metal, and ultimately that serves nobody but yourself. I think the only good hat ideas in this video are the domination / revenge hats, as it actively promotes playing TF2 as one would normally play TF2 and is a player-to-player interaction within the game. The other hats either promote a play style that's unhealthy to the game (exclusively playing Rock, Paper, Scissors or farming killstreaks), or promote a selfish, toxic way of engaging with the community / in-game economy. Keep up the ideas, though, I'd love to see more concepts that are more in-line with the reason the "travelling hats" exist and that would be a fun addition to the game!
I think it would be cool if the RPS hat was made out of rock, paper and scissors. Like just throw some scissors half-way thru cutting the hat or sm. I also think if the case hat had a lid at the top/was wrapped in chains that would be neat.

i thought about a hat that gets awarded when you get most gold medals in competitive. this will encourage players to play it and make the mode less dead. comp still needs a lot of adjustments before that, though.
