10:45 The goldfish story resonates. It reminds me of the Ryan Home HOA race over here on the east coast. Cookie cutter homes. Families so close together yet so separate. Built on massacred land. We’re jumping out of the ocean into our little bowls.

I LOVE your comment I have to comment on it- I never make comments/ replies but wow. What you said is so profound. I’m in Pittsburgh PA just about 20 minutes south. I own a residential cleaning company. Your mention of the Ryan Home HOA so close together yet so far separate is just wow! The amount of huge beautiful homes we clean in this one neighborhood- they’re 750,000 for the base model and go up from there. All these clients have the SAME home but the insides are the same yet so different. So same exact kitchen but they’re maybe white wood vs dark cabinets etc. we have about 35 homes in this neighborhood. But they’re all SO different yet literally the same from the same cookie cutter. I admit my husband, 2 year old daughter & myself are in an HOA (not Ryan but similar) and we are SO separate from our neighbors yet right there. We only bought when we needed much more space when I got pregnant and had a clock ticking- but this won’t be our forever home. I can’t do the “rules” if I wanted my house to have a pool of privacy fence I want to make that choice. I just have to say how profound your comment was to me!! I just want straight to our job with the approx 35 clients- 5 have the same exact layout- so separate- don’t know one another; but yet they have the same exact layout just maybe black lights above the dining table instead of silver.. but that dining table is in the same place. But SO separate w/ different lives. Thank you for this thought provoking and wonderful observation!!!

@@michelledorance2684 Woah! I'm also from the south hills (Bethel Park). My second childhood home was a Ryan Home. My first childhood home was a suburban paradise. The main reason we moved is because my parents wanted their own bathroom lol. I suppose it was also appealing to them to go form middle to upper-middle class status lol.

At 12 min. ...substitutions. I grew up with sociopath brother. Parents quite busy with that. As a teen became outsider , insecure, withdrawn and drank. My brother , one yr younger ruled my life I guess in many ways. Was that he substitute for my parents not focusing more positively on me? Was this when I was not seen? I undechaieved my way through school. Made many bad mistakes. 67 now and still trying to figure it out. Had 2 boys, married twice. Now successfully. All is ok. But I'm still in here . Sad. This ego is so tough.

😊Tara I loved finding this video today 🌞Right out of the gate @2:13 I knew I needed to stay till the end 🎯As I'm in recovery been 4 many moons _gratitude for each morning I wake w/o even a thought of using what had been my drug of choice (Heroin ) It's a gift to acknowledge where I was then and how far I've come . However when I function en a wanting mind...It steals the joy of quiet in this moment .I realize I have more of these unhealthy aversions that lead to unproductive actions... We are so blessed to have your messages ❤ Dr Tara Brach ❤

Tara, thank you. There is much intention in the tone and sound of your voice, that sometimes is enough. It was for me 8 years ago when I was very much broken and mostly going through the motions- but it was easier to absorb Knowledge in your simple presence and eventually I let things in. Namaste and thank you thank you thank you. XX

Hi I once listened on RU-vid to one of Tara's lectures that explain scientifically the four segments of the mind. Cognise/ recognise/ feeling and reacting. I can't seam to find it, can anyone direct me please ?

I am in an online aa meditation meeting at the moment. I searched for one of tara's meditation as i am too screwed up to practice silently now. Are there any more resources that relate to 12 step?

Check out Michael Singer’s work. Seats of Contemplation is a good channel to listen to his talks. Keep going. 🩵
