I can bend and feed but stuck on cutting. I am using a 1kw closed loop stepper with 15:1 gearbox. The motor stalls at the cut. Tried increasing the acceleration but still no cut. Can cut upto 2mm but i need to cut 6mm. Need help.
1kw is good enough, however the gear box is a little on the low side. Would be much better one from AliExpress that goes 85:1 they are well made cost like 200 bucks and they are very, very strong. You will be bending in no time.
Why go to that much trouble to build a machine that can only bend in 2D and why have the wire fixed so far from the bending mechanism so that constant radius bends are impossible? Sorry but this is a terrible design.
Well he could add an extension for the outlet to allow for constant radius bends, and many machines have a ramp to allow for a fixed third dimensional gap in things like springs, as the ramp pushes the wire into the third dimensional axis.
