If your grandfather doesn't do much right now, I feel like inviting him to go play destiny 2 and the final shape would truly make him happy. I also think it would be a very popular video, the destiny community LOVES feel good stories.

That intro... Made me cry. That time... that time i did not had any worries. For the first time in my life when i was 17 i felt like a god playing this game. I forgot every bad thing in my life. I can Tell this game Changed my life... It was never the same after that... miss that time...

I was 15 when this game came out and i met one of my best friends playing it, we ended up moving in together after he moved to my country. Pure nostalgia.,

Would you believe that I completed the original destiny campaigns (including all DLC) when I was 7-8 years old? What a game this was back then.

Things were simpler back then, didn't need to worry about Gods, didn't know about much what was happening, just resurrected, going on missions, finding mysteries on each planet and moon, the many wonders and experiences that Destiny has given us like no game other, a Gem, no, a diamond among the rough. I still remember how each experience felt in the beginning, met allies, faced enemies new to the last, it was something else I haven't felt since I first played a FPS game (Halo 3), but at the same time this game was a unique experience to me as well and I'll never forget it and will keep moving forward in the story. I'll see it to the end, and I hope to see those who walked the same journey to also be there, even if the light and dark saga has ended, our story is not over. Till then, eyes up guardians, and become legends. (Yes I know it sounds cheesy but I wanted to express what I was feeling right now when watching this)

Amazing intro, thank you so much for sharing your grandpa’s story. I started when I was 20. I’m 30 now, graduated college, started, dropped out, and returned + finished MA in Anthropology, got going in my career… Things have changed. But the traveler’s light doesn’t.

I'm 55 and play Destiny. I'd love to be able to do this with my dad or my grand dad but both passed before this was released. I think either one would have loved it!

I remember when the alpha came out on the ps3. I played it non stop. Same with the beta. Bought the game and It’s been one of my main game ever since. Year 1 was a wild time. Crazy that it’s been 10 years. Feels like yesterday I finished the original campaign.

This game meant so much to me. This and D2 combined, I've played it more than any other game. The one thing I love about D1 more than D2 is the lighting. D1 looked more "borderlines" and D2 just got more vibrant and sharper in tecture.

Still play this today never got myself into D2 but came back to D1 after 8 years and its still got a good community on ps4/5

All through destiny 1 I watched my dad play and I started playing with him d2 open beta till now

I remember getting home from school and playing this game only in 5th grade. I met an older guy, like your grandpa, who carried me through VoG and bought me The Taken King. My parents couldn't afford it at the time. Now I've graduated and am living on my own. How times change! Haha

I still play Destiny 1, even this morning i was playing.

Its cool that you play on xbox. Most RU-vid ers I see use pc or playstation unlike me. I've always had fun playing this game on both the 360 and the one.

The D1 music, atmosphere, loot, to me is way better. There is just awe and wonder. Did my first play through 6 months ago. D2 expanded on a lot of things… but D2 devs did a LOT of things wrong imo, taking the game in the wrong direction with vaulting and what not. If they ever do D3, i hope they take the best of D1 and D2 and do some good story telling. But lets be honest. The story dev team isnt their strongest. Even with all the lore lol

There are hardcore players in d2 that are already at 2010 power or higher

I had a friend I met during a crotas end raid in D1 and we became close friends even meeting up a few times would meet up in game each day. It was around cure of Osiris he started acting strange and out of character. Not coming online when he said he would and not having his mic on etc. I found he he started using ketamine. He knew I'm very anti drug so he didn't want a lecture. Because he didn't have the money I brought him warmind, forsaken, beyond light to keep him playing and distracted but his drug use got worse and he started using OXI and one day I just didn't here from him then days, so I rang him and his mum picked up and told me he ODed that night in his room. I hate drugs the people that deal them should b e charged with the murders Thier drugs cause. Anyway sorry. I beat the witness for him. Not that he really knew much about the witness as the last bits he played was the first 2 weeks of beyond light. I have this hatred for that DLC but I think that's why. I still message his account telling him what I have been doing. I'm a lone wolf now. Just a lone crayon eating titan. He was a stupid hunter not thinking just running into battle then I have to save his ass. 😂

I still think destiny 1 has better graphics it seem to be more clearer than destiny 2.

D1 was best, fallens were little bit not scary, but the other races were scary to meet, I think it should end after ttk , after it was meh … so much effort to achieve something and get the stuff, lying rotting digitally… cycle will happen to d2 … its sad

Limited vault space and no transmog makes me don't want to buy this game. Meanwhile I can get 90% content collection in 200s hour Forza Horizon 4 (will be delisted from digital distribution in December 2024)

This game came out during the peak of my youth. I was in middle school, my parents made good money, my mother was still a home mom, I lived in California inside a good sized home, life was just good! I remembered back in 2014, my friend in middle school talked me into playing this game. I remembered him asking our group friends, "does anyone here play destiny?" Christmas eve was when my journey began as a guardian. My cousin was there on my first playthrough and he also liked this game. I think it was him and my friend who were my fireteam. Fast forward to today, the first game is still great and a perfect place to revisit! The saga ended on a fantastic ending on destiny 2. But my fireteam has left me. My middle school friend left me from elements of the past that haunted him and sadly my cousin, whom we knew as just babies, turned out to feed off of media propaganda and lies. As a result, the things that attracted him turned him into being a toxic individual who'd involve himself with edgy culture. It hurts to lose a friend after moving away to come back to discover his fate... But this game holds such a good place in my life. It depicts growth in myself and many others. As if my facial hair grew as a result of it
