Destiny 1 Story Recap & Lore reaction 

That moment seeing Oryx come up, is spectacular. During my first run, the others were planning out the big fight and just casually said, "Hey Dwarf, why don't you go all the way up that walkway, you get a really nice view." Thanks for the heart attack, guys.

If no one has told you yet Lance Riddick the voice actor for Zavala past away 2 weeks prior on Friday at the age of 60. Sad day for the Destiny community

I remember when I first saw Oryx in the first years of Destiny 1. I wasted ALL the ammo for my rocket launcher when his face appeared after Eris shouted "HE IS HERE!!" I was that terrified.

Byf is one hell of a storyteller, his videos definitely helped us understand what was going on in destiny 1. You should look up his videos about the Iron Lord's and Dynasty lore. Dynasty especially because it goes in depth into the origins of Oryx, his sisters and the hive.

Byf is very much known as the Lore Daddy of Destiny :) Very glad you guys are checking out his videos (he has tons but the main story videos are great) If you guys get the chance i HIGHLY recommend watching his Dynasty Video

Great video! On a unrelated note. For the Warhammer related videos, I highly recommend reacting to a RU-vidr called Cody bonds. He has a series called a noobs guide where he talks about a champion from the Warhammer games and weaves in funny commentary while describing them. I sure you guys will find it funny as well

I can't wait for you guys to get caught up, because we're finally getting some context about the heart of the Black Garden now in D2. And re-watching this now is giving a whole new perspective with the new info we just got in the game. So well done on the timing of this videos release. It's pretty topical with current events in the game. :D

Seeing everyone's fashion and how they choose to make their character look is great. Fashion is the true end game. Personally i make multiple outfits for my characters based on the subclass or weapons im using. The game's artstyle lends to some really cool looks, cant have just one. So for D2, you are fine just watching like expansion cutscenes for i think Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and Forsaken, but past that they started working on a seasonal model. Releasing content every few months that ideally lasted until the next. The full order of things is Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, Forsaken (launched with Season of the Outlaw), Season of the Forge, Season of the Drifter, and Season of Opulence, then you have the yearly expansion Shadowkeep which launched with Season of the Undying. This marks the start of yearly expansion content and seasonal content being about different stories basically so you had the Shadowkeep campaign which was its own thing and along side that you had weekly updates to Season of the Undying. From there its Season of Dawn, Worthy, then Arrivals followed by the yearly expansion Beyond Light which launched with Season of the Hunt, next was Chosen, Splicer, then Lost. Yearly expansion Witch Queen launched with Season of the Risen, then came Haunted, Plundered, Seraph and Most recently is the yearly expansion Lightfall and its Season of the Defiant. The thing to note about seasonal content is its stretched out over weeks with usually 1 main story mission per week and extra content releasing alongside it like exotic quests. Usually we'll get a couple cutscenes per season.

Another one I recommend, after you're done with however much is left, watch the gunslingers tale, of Thorn, and The Last Word. It's amazing.

Great reaction, destiny has some of my favorite lore in gaming and byf is definitely a master storyteller for it. I recommend his video title "the last word & thorn" it's easily one of my favorite stories in destiny and it will tie into some lore and characters in Destiny 2 so I highly recommend it 👍

Love that you're continuing your journey through this franchise, for when you get into Destiny 2's meat the RU-vidr Destin has all of the Destiny 2 cutscenes and story moments from the vanilla game and every expansion and season in the game catalogued in chronological order in a playlist on his channel. I highly recommend watching his videos, I myself use them to recap on the series from time to time.

We just learned more about the Heart of the Black Garden in the current expansion. It was an attempt to replicate a powerful artifact of both light and darkness, and somehow incorporates green ropes.

Love to see the destiny content, fun to watch you guys react as always. I recommend checking out the season trailers after finishing up the lore videos,.really explains what happens in between expansions.

I remember waking up at 4 or 5 in the morning to install and play Taken King, an absolute banger experience. I also prefer the Iron Lord equipment to give that knightly feel, and it just looks awesome all around. It's unfortunate that through watching videos is the only way to experience the Red War now, as they removed it, but the whole opening and campaign for it was pretty top notch

That is just a fraction of what the lore is. For example the vault of glass exists outside of time and space, there are mechanisms inside that erase you from time. You have not died, but never existed in the first place. That's a reason why there are theories about the original 3 guardian fireteam being 6, but 3 got completely erased. And there is so much more to this. Great for any lore nerd to dig around in

you chose right when picking which loremaster to listen to a recap from :D there are other great ones but "my name is byf" is easily one of the best for the Destiny series out there

Have you two react Twisted Metal Black cutscene of all characters? This classic combat racing on PS2 is dark and disturbing story of all characters backstories when they did a horrible crime and went to asylum sentence life like a prison. Then a man come to visit. His name is Calypso, he's the owner of Twisted Metal, he will give a secound chance, that must enter the tournament. Winner must survive all the car battle, when you win, he will granded you a single wish.

bfy is an incredible story teller. and that showed in his video "the last word" it's an hour long but dam is it good. you get to find out why this one gun is called "last word"

In Destiny 2 they brought back the Vault of Glass and King's Fall raids so you can see people playing those raids now. There have been some small changes because of the game difference, but the raids are practically the same.

I really recommend watching destiny 2 all lightfall cutscenes if you haven’t already, it’s amazing and shows more about strand and how the guardians wield it!

Man all those raids were fun to do in Destiny 1. Crota's raid had this knight that would glitch everywhere and was dubbed "Spooky Knight" by my clan. Crawdad's (Oryx) raid was a lot of fun also. I think my favorite though was fighting on top of the Fallen's mad max mobile and figuring out the secret in the Siva raid. Don't have to react to it but look up 6 man fisting machine by GGjacque. It's a fun watch and I'm still sad I missed out on joining them because of work.

More Destiny is always welcomed.

Love your destiny videos! I however have a huge huge suggestion when you do eventually get into Destiny 2. The story is presented very different when they moved onto Destiny 2, so if you only check out cutscenes of the major DLCS you will probably miss alot if the goal is to see the story unfold. Id recommend when moving onto Destiny 2 that you also check out season recaps perhaps? In Destiny 2 seasons are basically mini DLCs that progress the story and change the game. Love your guys' video's, just my $5.

NLS Drive. I always sigh when I hear that the NLS means Near Light Speed. The NLS Drive is labeled as a Warp Drive, aka a Faster Than Light method of transportation which can go Near Light Speed (or Sub Light Speed) if the user wishes. The most appropriate name for the NLS Drive would be Non-Linier Space Drive which is a more scientific name for Warp Drive.

Destiny 1 and all of its dlc and main story still work, I did start it again a month ago I finished it again for the 4th time. Still playing d2 at the min oh the good old days when the game had all it's content unlike now ffs

Despite some low points in Destiny 2 -- which, to be fair, there were low points in D1 too -- you'll come to appreciate the story fleshed out more AND characters you've liked in D1 are explored a lot more in depth!

I loved this game haven't played 2 yet but its such a well designed story that merged Sci-fi with feudal era politics that gives the player a great MMO-RPG style shooter. Its just a shame we had to lose Halo for it, since Bungee sold Halo to focus on Destiny...

I don't remember if I said this before, but here it is anyway. For the sake of your viewing experience, *please* don't watch Destin's videos, even if some people might recommend them. Just stick to Gamer's Little Playground. The argument for Destin is that he includes raids in his videos, but it's actually just the final boss kill. And for the rest of the videos, he just speedruns through missions, which results in dialogue being mistimed or even cut. Just watch a video of the expansion's raid after that if you want. Also it's nice hearing that you found one of the community's memes on Saladman. This guy is pretty cool.

Not gonna lie, I think Byf takes way too long to say things. He could convey all the information he wants way more quickly and concisely AND with more context. I'd have recommended watching Evaze's summary/timeline instead, which is still almost four and a half hours long, but covers everything from origin through to the start of the current expansion Lightfall. His scriptwriting is also just way better, concise and precise, and he includes more visual aids via editing rather than just splicing game footage together. Still, I'm glad you guys are sloooooooooooooowly getting through the Destiny timeline anyway.

So I've just realized you fellas have probably never seen or heard about the absolute gem of Madness Combat, and I think a lot of us would love to see your reaction. There's a video called Madness Combat in real time that is a compilation which shows everything that happens, even if it's at the same time.
