Crow: "Remind me not to get on your bad side" Guardian: "Play dumb ghost" Ghost: "My guardian isn't the type to hold a grudge" Guardian: *"NOT THAT DUMB"*
I love Crow, by the way. I mentioned this on another video, but I've always had sympathy for Uldren, but I especially love Crow. And I love Brandon O'Neill's voiceover for him.
Yeah, I honestly really like him as Crow. I like, 99% wanna give him a big hug and take the bomb that dick put on Glint and put it on Spider's head, but theres still that 1% in the back of my mind where I wanna shoot him because of what he did in his past life, but he was like half-redeemed in my eyes when I realized he doesn't know what he did and will probably feel bad about it. I really wanna see what they do with him because I think Crow is really cool tbh
@@reddeath6022 he could literally become a superguardian like we are and help us fight Savathun idk I'm just happy about this season that is now 200 times better post Raid completion
I feel like we are the new Jolyon to him, but this time he doesn't have the whole desire for approval from someone else (Mara). Jol outright even said it to Mara's face that he has been a better sibling to Uldren than she ever was. But after the Garden, Uldren lost his mind and only focused on Mara, cut out all his friends, became aggressive and antisocial otherwise when before he was outgoing, charming and warm to everyone. He was beloved by the awoken before the Black Garden, and was an amazing leader. His Crows would've gladly laid their down for him in battle, except he would've done the same for them. He was also curious and adventurous as hell, as well as extremely empathetic where Mara was cold. He used to cry over the death of his pets. But it all changed with the Garden. When his luck ran out. That's the Uldren we meet. The broken hollow man and not the true Uldren. That's the Uldren we killed. With Crow, we are starting to see how Uldren might've been before the Garden.
The Traveler saw Mara throw her whole brother out and went "Fine if you don't want him I'll take him." And now he has the best little ghost friend and us looking to become his big sibling figures. I know he's not Uldren, but in a way, he finally got what he wanted.
@@jem5378 Oh hey, I recognize you from the tungler dot com. I liked your post about how Mara might not be a huge asshole in the future. Fingers crossed, right?
The line where glint told us Crow was trying to copy us and his response sounded like child telling his mom to stop, like: “Mom stop, you’re embarrassing me”
@@Rebecca_Violet ghosts are like parents in general. When ur fresh outta the grave they introduce you to everyone and teach you how everything works but the older and more experienced you become you two slowly get on a first-name and more like equally competent partners.
Crow: Spider cleared us to hunt for 36 hours. We have some time. Glint: A reprieve! Crow: Guardian, we’re here if needed. Otherwise, I’ll be testing my Light. Glint: He’s trying to do some things he saw *you* do. It’s wonderful... and awkward. Crow: _Glint-!_ THIS IS THE WHOLESOME WE NEEDED IN DESTINY
@@noven8259 I doubt it only because it seems like character can feel a type of aura when the darkness is around. I think he can feel the difference when we use it and wouldn’t try to imitate it.
@@kadenlucas8979 well yeah but that's usually when they're close to that person, at least in my case i've never been close to the crow with a light subclass on and he mostly talks to us over comms so i doubt he'd even feel the difference
I find it more likely the whispers he's hearing are remnants of Riven and Savathun's corruption. Savathun has been portrayed in all of her related lore as a regal and superior figure. And considering she's done all she could to try and make us turn against our allies in the past it makes sense for her to try and get into Crow's head as leverage over Mara.
@@friendlyelites Two queens, one beautiful and one demonic, battling over the reborn Prince’s spirit sounds like an awesome Lord of the Rings plot line lol
@@fudwgemar it could split reality in prices and even if it got rid of the hive it could give us 5 more evil Armies to fight aka the Vex would have a field day and we’d be screwed.
Its pretty adorable how he talks like he is technically a new person who has resentment but you can't help but feel the need to awe at his personality like really its just downright criminal to be this adorable
@@MirunaNero not even Uldren really, Uldren was more of a warrior maybe even a protector than anything. It is Uldren, corrupted & insane, that is a murderer. However I agree with your point, Crow doesn't seem much like Uldren.
@@AtenSol12 he just isn't Uldren. Even if Uldren is who Crow was before he died, they're two different people at this point. They should be treated as such
@@MirunaNero I don't play Destiny anymore so can someone explain to me what the hell is going on? I'm reading that the Crow is Uldren... but not? I'm insanely far behind on the lore after Forsaken.
I definitely see a lot out of Crow. Uldren felt a lot more snobbish, but also had his moments, mostly with a certain smirk. But Crow, heh, his lines feel fresh and rather refreshing. As well as curious. Kinda would be crazy if he started being comical. But he’s doing his job.
Crow is definitely a new character that we needed in universe. Almost everyone notable we interact with is a legendary guardian that outlives us by at least a few decades, and that made our characters the young face. Now that we have Crow, we get to see the other side of that coin and learn how it looks on the outside with a guardian finding their footing.
Uldren was actually pretty comical, he even once danced a jig to distract a Vex Minotaur. He was incredibly kind to people and would've sacrificed himself for his comrades, but his obsession with pleasing Mara (an obsession she groomed) led to him becoming the person we see in Destiny 1. (I'm not sure it ever explicitly states why he hated Guardians, but Mara hates Guardians too so I wouldn't be surprised if that was also her doing.) What we are seeing now is the person he used to be, and would've been if Mara hadn't made him so dependent on her it twisted his heart and got him killed.
Yeah I get why spider took Crow in because he would be killed if he went the last city, but couldn’t crow just grab a helmet and keep it on while in the city
@@wolfmirebacta8710 that's true but weather the crow has a clue or not he's basically spiders slave and I feel bad since he wants to do a lot more good with his light.
@@pracitus not really, that's the name the Spider gave him, Uldren is still in there hidden in Crow's mind. that's why the Spider told us to not pronounce the surname Sov once
@@pracitus I am aware ,I was referring to the fact that we “don’t hold a grudge” yet spent the entirety of Forsaken hunt down Uldrens ass over a personal incident
There are some good ironic lines like the beginning one where he says "I'd rather die than be twisted by my ambition" and "I'm going to stay in your good good side". Maybe one day he'll know what happened lol.
@@calsmify847 maybe he would if he understood that his mind was corrupted and that he killed our friend and brought about a curse onto the dreaming city. Maybe he'd try his best to be a hero to make up for it. He said himself that he'd rather die than be corrupted by his ambitions.
@@christainagustin6180 Yh he probably will forgive us. To be honest I feel sorry that Spider almost has control over Crow and we can't do anything about it cause if the vanguard found out then they would kill him.
@@calsmify847 its weird but I feel bad for the crow as well since he's basically spiders slave. Plus the vanguard would have to accept it the traveller chose him
It wasn’t a grudge though. We only went after him because Zavala and Ikora couldn’t. Cayde was a vanguard and if someone took out a leader, they are a threat. Plus, not all of us shot uldren. They left it open for you to chose what you did.
Listen, I´m a Hunter main through and through, ever have been always will be. Was I angry at Uldren for killing our Cayde? Of course but if anyone wants to hurt this new guardian, we gonna have a problem.
If we wanna punish him, make him the new vanguard. Punishment enough for a hunter 😂 (even though in killing Uldren, we completed Cayde’s Dare and have a right to his seat on the vanguard- ow, my head)
it's really nice with the crow how he is, being a nice person and having a complete opposite to how he was as uldren, it's amazing, like, he doesn't wanna kill the enemies even, he just wants to wish the hive away, and have using headcannons
I still think we're gonna get that confrontation with Crow, he's probably gonna start picking up the pieces of his past life, and he's probably gonna want some answers later on. I really hope he becomes a bro... A Cro-bro.
"My Guardian isn't the type to hold a grudge" Ghost, bud. We literally had an entire DLC based around a grudge. Also, The amount of irony in The Crow's lines are astonishing.
it would be poetic if Saint becomes a father figure to crow, considering how Saint was considered the Son of the speaker, plus im sure saint would like to take care of a crow
I feel like they're trying to shove Shawn Hawn down our throats for Hunter Vanguard tbh. Hes the new intro clr newbies, is a hunter and (despite him not being mentioned or a thing till new light) he knows and has "connections" to the big players. He feels like a Zavala fan boy, had a line being a smartass abiut Cayde's report and is sad about the planets vanishing. I do hope have more to do with Crow though
@@mihailis6353 thats not how that workds dude. ULDREN is technically supposed to be the Hunter Vanguard because Cayde made the most stupid dare of "whoever kills me takes my job" even if it's a Hive God or a Titan. But we killed Uldren, Crow literally has no claim to the Vanguard position. Ana and Shaw have more claims to it than Crow does
One: Last I checked there is no Cayde-7, so that's a moot point. Two: Cayde's Hunter Dare was specifically whoever kills him and manages to do it permanently would became the new Hunter Vanguard, so Cayde-7 would never become the Hunter Vanguard. In addition, Zavala and Ikora are carrying out Cayde's last will to the question, which is the reason why there isn't a new hunter vanguard in the first place.
“Guardian, when this ends...just know that I’m grateful to have worked alongside you.” -Crow One way or another I’m freeing the Crow from the Spider’s web!
The only reason I like the crow is because wether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.
I know that we are supposed to be keeping it a secret from him, but it doesn’t change the fact that I still feel horrible about the fact that I’m hiding the truth. If I was the Young Wolf, I’d tell Crow what happened, why it happened, and that whether or not he considers himself to be the same person he was I still accept him and will stand by and for him.
I'll take Glint over Sagira any say. She was mean to my ghost. I like my ghost. Not to mention that whole darkness-style takeover of our ghost. Pretty fucked up.
@@xrstevenson no he isnt they have the same soul. an amnesiatic person may have different personalities. But they still have the same flesh. He is still uldren since he still has the same soul
Banshee and The crow have such similar story lines and different as well. Where Banshee is seeking out his past. The crow seems almost haunted by his driven towards the light by his newborn self and a seething “voice” always in the back of his head.
"How could Xivu Arath do this to one of her own?" Interesting. I wonder if this is foreshadowing for the Awoken discovering what Mara Sov did to them? (For those who don't follow lore: Mara's caused thousands of Awoken deaths for power so she can become a god to fight the Darkness. Even that "heroic sacrifice" you see in TTK cutscene was actually her sacrificing her people.)
Mara Sov is a really complicated character. There’s just so much behind her motivations and actions. She saw the Theocidy War as necessary, as it would allow her to lead Awoken back into Sol to save humanity. Her people’s death during the battle of Saturn did hurt her (Tyrannocide V). It all leads back to when she was first through the singularity, as that was where she existed as a formless being for millennia. It made her who she is now. I’ve always wondered how the Awoken would react if they learned her secret. The only two people who know her secret reacted in completely opposite ways (Alis Li and Sjur Eido). Anyways, I look forward to seeing what the lore writers have in store for us when it comes to Mara and the rest of the Awoken.
In the season trailer, Spider offers us anything in his lair if we kill the High Celebrant. My guess is we'll ask for Crow, causing the standoff we see in the ViDoc.
I feel like half these lines was just bungie winking and nudging us going, “ do you get it”. But to be honest, I would like to know what the price of crows freedom would be, I would happily pay it.
I like when he tells my titan to stay hidden, while I cruise around on a bright purple shark sparrow in glowing armor and blow up/punch everything I see.
Bungie really did good at these lines of Crow. So much irony. I`m so curious to see what happened when he will learn about he`s past. That he was twisted by owun ambition. That he get on our bad side. That the Scorn respect him not for Spider. That he actually found the real ahamkara and make a wish. That he doesn`t like handcannons for they sound on purpose . That sometimes when he shoots, he`s closing his eyes on purpose. (Thanks to the Shiraho for 2 last lines). That would be... I don`t know how it would be.
Well according to the triumph page for this season there is going to be a quest called "forging your own path", sounds to me like the name you'd give a questline about cutting Crow free from Spiders hold.
Are we help Crow kill him. There have been some voice lines to Spider from ghost about power. Could be foreshadow about Crows betrayal or escape. With help from us.
I cannot wait for Crow to meet Zavala, or Ikora, or Petra. I also have a pet theory that there’s going to be some shenanigans with the Deep Stone Crypt that ends in Cayde coming back (because from his messages he knew about it), or maybe something with the darkness trying to tempt the vanguard by bringing back Cayde and if that happens I’d love to see the interaction.
