We had the first ever Exotic Class items in Destiny 2 drop yesterday with a blinder of a mission. But these Exotics now drop in the world and I've been testing various methods and this farm is the easiest and most fun to do - it's actually quite relaxing!
Anyway let me show you how I got 3 of ‘em in about an hour

So this has been my in the field research experience at the Landing: -After you spawn in, there will be always 5 chests to open going around the map once. -I go back to the spawn in area and wait until the screen flashes white indicating that new chests have spawned in (equal 5 in total, just like when you first spawned in) -I repeat this circuit until an exotic piece is found, which equates to ~45 minutes each time. Special observations: Overthrow progress sum total range of ~1600 to 2000 (adding level 1 and level 2 progress numbers) will more than likely net an exotic armor piece IF YOU ONLY FOCUS ON OPENING CHESTS, NOT THE OVERTHROW.

Load landing wait till the screen effect for chest spawns usually happens twice visually then go in a circle n' learn all the chest grouppings. 1 chest per group you'll notice it after farming a bit. Then click the landing zone again and repeat.

I counted today, I opened 66 chests between getting an exotic class item. I realise that's pretty anecdotal evidence, but if others have done the science we might get a decent average. I didn't count how many I opened to get my first class item, but it did seem like it was over 40 chests, so 2% chance is looking likely. It also took me around 35-40 minutes to open that many chests.

Do you have to do on all 3 characters or if you do 1 can you farm on the other 2

It appears you have to unlock it on each class separately. I opened a little under 100 chests today on my hunter and didn't get a cloak to drop. So unless anyone else has managed to get it to drop on a character that they haven't run the mission on, sadly that's the case.

Question is, do you put the exotic bond on instead of an exotic armor piece?... I guess not.

Yes, it counts as the single exotic armour piece. And the traits are only active if you're using a prismatic sub class.

Open the pale heart and there should be 3 missions saying cooperative and you need to run them but it is much harder so be prepared lol.

Aren't the exotic class items active when you have prismatic subclass? You don't get proximity knife on the hunter prismatic subclass, so seems kind of useless in all honesty.

@@ArmitageShanksMC it doesn’t use the knife for the perk that Caliban has is powered melee triggers ignitions it pretty much insta kills any thing in surrounding area when u get a melee kill it’s extremely good

Probably never getting these, I refuse to support the idiotic decision to create content that REQUIRES voice communication with a partner in a game with the absolute shittiest communication tools in the history of gaming (and I've been gaming for a looooong time kids).

So you just play patrols and that's it? No wonder you hate the game. For someone who claims to be having as long as you, you'd know that games like this always have missions that require communication. People with your mindset didn't deserve to get these things anyway

@@goodgoodempty I'm with him. The fact they advertised these as a core part of Prismatic, then locked them behind a quest that requires communication with another person is idiotic. Apparently Guardians make their own fates, except when it comes to getting these items, because not everyone wants to do this. They need to allow players to do a different activity to unlock the ability to farm these items from chests. I don't care if the quest is a 100% drop rate, keep it as such, just make it so others have a CHANCE at getting it as an RNG drop without having to do a timed puzzle with raid mechanics. Also, the fact we're angry isn't because we don't have friends. It's because some of us are disabled. I'm losing my hearing, and some of these LFGs can't speak with a damn. Others literally can't speak due to being mute. Others are autistic or retarded. Others have crippling social anxiety due to mental health. And here Bungie is purposefully excluding communities they claim to support.

@@SealFormulaMaster How about you appreciate that you even have an LFG tool, I've been permenantly banned from LFG for 6 years and my identity, hardware and IP are all permenantly banned as well. I can never ever find anyone to play anything on this game. I'll never be able to enjoy this game alone.

Oh no..... we've gotta communicate in a team based game.....oh no, what will we ever do?😅😅 I am 37 & have been playing games my entire life starting with dads Atari.... and it would be expected that a game that often requires TEAMWORK to do something like this. Its A COMMUNITY based game, ofc solo players will get crapped on from time to time. Lol kinda seems like you ain't got nobody to play with.... at least nobody you can get along with long enough to communicate with peacefully.
