Used the satin slat grey 2 gallons for my front steps cement and foundation morter and stone very un even slate foundation. Flat surfaces rolled works best at least 2 coats. And for house foundation thats old and un even morter this product works amazing when applied with a big brush slathered on as thick as possible. Needs 2 coats to get a real good coverage of filling in small cracks in the mason work. For the applications I used this for it was a very good product. 10/10, I could really see it standing up to the elements in the north east and "hold together" the mason work that slowly erodes away each year. Many in my neighborhood use "tar" compounds to cover these area's. This acrylic epoxy paint works way better. Very good at uniform color coverage.

When this product advertised for garage floor, it was meaning home garages, as where one parks their cars, not a working mechanic garage. Of course the floors are going to get ruined. No matter what you have one can not escape the fact that garages are nasty and the building gets destroyed no matter what

A lil late for me as I just got done laying down half my garage floor and waiting for it to dry as I watch your video… haha … I don’t do nearly as much as you so hopefully I fair a lil better. Was thinking for you… maybe to make it look a lil better you could strip rectangles out in each bay ,and paint with a better epoxy. ? I know this is a older video ,hope you’re doin well and thanks for the vids

I bet it is! I’m probably just going to live with the mess…at least for a while.

Good follow-up review, Lucas. Just an idea, but maybe strip under the lift and go for a more durable epoxy since that area gets the most use?
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead 2 года назад
That’s not a bad idea. The other two bays still clean up pretty well. I have also thought about the garage floor tile systems. I’m not dropping any more money on it right now though. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Thanks for giving us a update Lucas😁Did you just do that whole video in one take???🤯 I was thinking of the white floors but grinding and welding on it would make a mess so I am going to put the money in lights and hope for the best. Keep up the great content 😁👍🚜💨

I did mostly shoot the video all at once. I had some notes that I would look at and just cut that out. Lol.

I have used cheap gray cement paint in the garage for just driving in and out and that did not hold up more than one season with our upstate winters.

At a dealership they decided to epoxy the floor. On half at a time, but the company doing it did not tell anyone that this product was new to them. Now, this is between full-blown old school epoxy with "VOC's" above national rule, but as the sun came thru the windows and open doors when hot, it faded to a yellow hue that was obvious. As usual the company who applied it and the company the made the epoxy came thru, took photos and samples from corners, denied any responsibility for the products performance. More like Dr's, chemical products and used car salesman had lowered themselves to "It's not our problem or product". Have a nice day! Wow! Thanks a lot their chief! You got paid regardless of a good outcome or not. Don't call us, we'll call you maybe! DK, ASE Master Tech since 78, retired.

I live in the rust belt every bolt I touch has to have PB Blaster ... that brand floor coating is out for me. I do brake jobs , oil changes on cardboard it stops some soaking through.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead 2 года назад
Gotta love PB blaster! Cardboard is a good idea. That would help. We would have to have a pretty big supply of cardboard. We do a lot of jobs. 😂

Lucas: what about drip trays? I use one and it catches the oil. Not sure if it will work from high distances like your hoist. I do not have one. Take care and stay safe.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead 2 года назад
To be honest, as many projects as we do, I don’t know how we could ever keep up and work cleanly. 🤷🏼‍♂️ We have a big oil change dolly that raises up to catch oil, but it can’t be everywhere. 😂

Man That's really too bad! I was wondering about the durability when you had to do so many coats, but I thought it would hold up better than that. On the plus side you have a floor and aren't working in dirt! Do you think you will redo it at some point?
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

Yeah, I’m not overly upset about it, but I felt like I should share how poorly the product performs…🤷🏼‍♂️

That's pretty disappointing Lucas. I've been looking at garage floor paints and epoxies. I'm thinking of using just cheap gray garage floor paint. Thanks for giving us the low down.

You’re welcome. Gray would have been a better choice and I am guessing regular garage floor paint would be at least as durable as this if not better. Good luck!

As your clients come to your shop for a professional oil change, you should hire a professional flooring company to do your floor!!.
@cwalton56

Classic case of you get what you pay for. Hire a professional. After years of use and it still looks and holds up, you won't regret getting it done by a professional. Acrylic is your first clue it wouldn't hold up.
