The canister is firing a huge blast of shrapnel when it explodes and that's why the castle keeps being vaporized lol. Kind of like the bullets from wanted except it's a shotgun blast
The cannon from 8:30-12:25, is supposed to have the projectile case explode in the air. It shoots shrapnel/bullets at the target to inflict major damage.
The Beehive round is a Japanese specialized round that's intend to damage equipment and kill crew members, this rendering the ship disabled and no longer a threat so it can be captured

With the battleship canister thing, you're basically shooting a shotgun, as a projectile. Like, the shotgun itself is the projectile. The canister explodes mid-air and shoots shrapnel like a shotgun. It's basically like Roadhog's gun in Overwatch.
The canister is basically a HEAT round, it has an explosive payload in the back that explodes and propells a spray of shrapnel, the difference being it doesn't explode on contact. It is mainly used for destroying smaller lightly armoured targets from further away because it allows you to be less accurate and still destroy your target.

@@jonahmoore3753 as the maker of that weapon, yes its meant to explode shortly after launch so it gets a spread that goes where the scope is aimed. It's actually intended to be an AA weapon~

you should check out my two creations! i think you would love them. they are two moving cities, one of them is a giant city that can catch and eat other smaller moving vehicles or cities, and the other is a fast mono wheel city. search for 'moving city' and 'mono-city'
Think of the second to last creation as a rocket propelled shotgun. No glitches or invisible barriers, its literally just a two stage rocket with a shrapnel warhead.
The cannon was supposed to work that way, it’s intention was to shoot the entire projectile, then detonating said projectile throwing pieces of metal throughout the target.
@Drea 8:46 he calls it a modified Behive shell. A behive shell was a shell made for the guns of IJN battleship Yamato as dual purpose these shells where his AA shells they would explode and send out a lot of little tube that also kind of exploded in a giant flak cloud basicly
the creation before the mech, that is how it is suppose to work it explodes a boulder to act as shrapnel which is the anti-aircraft aspect which is why it explodes before it hits the target so it can shred aircraft
