I played the crap out of 1, 2 was such a let down. Worse graphics, worse physics, worse performance, and like you said a ton of glitches :(

@@rasz it is just nostalgia if you call the physics and graphics of DD2 worse than DD1, 1 had much less detail, and looked flattened, just like the physics were 2d only, and cars behaved much more arcady What i will give you however is that 1 is the better game, shortening the already short seasons from 5 to 4 races was a mistake, and the individual car styles and driver pictures on the standings page gave 1 a personal touch that 2 lacks, also the ai was balanced against all player cars in 1, while in 2 they just run away if you don"t use the pro car

Physics and graphics tried to be more advanced, but ended up just bad. It was pretty easy to bounce your car out of the map geometry(as seen in the clip), car was derpy and unpredictable. Huge gaps in geometry due to badly optimized low precision fixed point graphic engine, constant map popup, bad level of detail, glitching non perspective corrected texturing, it looked clunky.

@@rasz Well the game isn't for everyone but I personally disagree with this one being a let down as I find it to be the best out of the trilogy, I liked the first one but it wasn't the best on the ps1 and even though it did set a bench mark for the demolition derby genre I feel like the second did it better however I'm aware of the unfair ai, glitches (but non of them were game breaking), bad physics engine but what makes the game great. It was how fast it was compared to the first one, the soundtrack was fantastic, the pileups you could create were very entertaining and the handling which was subjectively bad I enjoyed and at least you were actually able to flip your car in this game unlike the first and going back to the first one after playing the second, it's pretty hard to get into and kinda boring in a way compared to what the second managed to do.
