@@Gravedig00 When I launch it I have an error thrown in my face I cant remember Exactly so I gave up. Some thing like failed to launch and crashes on menu

Because it's a janky, inferior version of the ps1 game. At least thanks to this vid I was finally able to determine what all the AI voice lines actually are, since the audio is clearer in this version.

@@PassionWagonYT No way man the DOS version is way better than the ps1 version!

@@JohnSmith-xx1lx It has less competitors with less individual color schemes and skins. Less tracks and runs slower in places. It's a good port, but I would say the only way it is superior than the ps version is in the audio department.

There is menu music in the DOS version, it's just missing in this video along with all the other music for some reason. Plenty of other things not present in this one though lol.

@@shroomologist I'm pretty sure me and the person who made this video are playing on the same rom. It's got no music which was actually pretty disappointing considering I actually liked the soundtrack. What other things is it missing?

@@triggeredemoji298 Hmm, my copy seems to have identical music to the playstation version and plays fine in dosbox. It's a mixed mode cd-rom which I believe iso files do not support so maybe that's why. Bin/cue will work if you have a disc to rip. What is missing from the DOS version however: 4 less damage indicators on the car. 16 cars on the track instead of 20 meaning one less division in championship mode. Less trackside details, no video walls. The hidden Ruined Monastery track appears to be missing. No night version of the bowl (I think, could be wrong) No spinning screen effects at the end of a race. Mostly not a big deal but the ps1 version was definitely superior. The only downside is that the load times on that were awful.

@@shroomologist Even though the pc version basically got me into racing, I'm willing to toss away my nostalgia goggles and just say that the ps1 version is better (even though I perfer the cars in the pc version lol). I'm running the game on a beat up school computer so that's probably why I don't have any music.

@@triggeredemoji298 It was the introduction to PC gaming for me, kind of, one of the first games I owned anyway. Had to get help from a relative because I had no idea you was supposed to install the thing first lol.

Which 1995 console had a better version of this? These graphics were incredible on PC at the time

@@acengland82 The PSX version, It's better alone just for being to get 20 cars in a race, instead of only 16 on PC, plus the frame rate seems a lot better on PSX. Other than that, it has a great soundtrack, better graphics, most notably the lighting, and the camera angles are a lot better on PSX, all the PC cameras seem too close/low... On top of all that, the PSX version supported system-link for 2 player mode, you could even do 2 players in season mode!
