I have a scleral buckle , and honestly, I’m terrified of the changes it may bring to my vision. But without the surgery I would have went totally blind in that eye.
@@haleytucker6944 It’s still pretty blurry. I went ahead and got a new glasses prescription, and they do help. I’m hoping things improve in the next months.
Im 16 and had cataracts and now this just had surgery yesterday for the buckle it hurts like hell do not develop a physical stress tic around ur eye because i had cataract surgery plus that tic that caused trauma the reasonim able to type now is it was numbed not long ago idk if it wore off yet
I had my buckle removed. I had no issues for 12 years. During recent cataract surgery the surgeon was pressing down on the wire speculum. I went to eye casualty and they said the buckle had moved slightly and that was causing the pain. The surgery was successful but it's painful for a few days, possibly due to the local I had a local in the back of my eye. I spent most of Next day in bed. I kept on top of the pain relief. So far, it's been a good decision, the pain has gone and my vision is good, not too much change. I've gone from +1.5 to 2.0 now because of the surgery.
Thanks for the video. The question is, before surgery the vision was perfect, 10/10 after surgery the vision is blurry because of myopia caused by the silicone buckle, double and it is 1/10 (6 months passed after surgery ). Is there any solution for these problems ? Before surgery I had one problem, after surgery I have at least 3 problems.
@@slenaloveu The buckle method was a failure. After the eye patch was off, my sight was distorted and as a cloudy day. It slowly went back to the same non visible eye sight I had before. Now they want me to go back and try a oil or gas base method which both sounded terrifying and not reliable and would out me out of work for 3-6 months… with out pay lol I can’t do that. It took unemployment 3 months to send a $1,000 check. The surgery has left my right eye with a bet of a lazy eye and it tends to drift off since I can’t see much but darkness from it. My death perception is not really good. I bump into lots of people and things. I believe I’m better off with my one good eye and
harjasp the gas bubble is less invasive but very time consuming, thank god I’m young 30 and have my family because your bed ridden for 2 months can’t move because that has bubble is holding the ripped retina up, The buckle is probably the best way because it’s 95% and gas bubble is only 70% success rate, I say I’m glad I took the gas bubble because the buckle looks horrendous
harjasp the procedure was fast but it takes a long time here in Canada, so your waiting and your eye is like a basket ball. You wait. Hey I understand I was lucky everything went smoothly and I took a paintball to the eye
@@slenaloveu right now I’m due for cataract surgery. But I’m doing pretty awesome, I don’t have too much vision left in my right eye after having two retina surgeries 😅 but thank you for asking!!
Buckling doesn't help with cataracts though? It's for retinal detachments. Cataracts are either removed like In my case since I have myself a cataract with trauma to the eye. Or they get lasered. Hope he is doing well though, my buckle is annoying me
