Thanks for the video. I have the same truck same color and everything. I recently got the linkswell 5 installed and you just answered every question I had.
Man that screen looks so 🔥 I have 2020 1500 bighorn with the 8.4 screen I was looking to see about upgrading to the big screens that come in the 5th gens. This linkwell looks really really bad ass. Definitely gonna have to upgrade to this screen
@THE BLKHORN lol yeah I think I could get over it as well since that things is so clean and awesome. Definitely gonna have to order me one soon and bring it to get Installed.
My audio shop is a Linkswell dealer. Not sure where you are located but Car-Tunes INC is the name of the company that installed my system out of Greenville, MS.
That’s wassup home team! I literally just dropped my truck off at Car tunes to install an amp on my door speakers. Can’t wait to see how yours turns out man.
Nice Video still on the fence about getting one for my F150 because I use my Sirius XM a lot and I found out they are still working with Sirius to incorporated into the gen 5 system
I’m not sure, I use CarPlay and I’m able to connect to my Waze app through that. I never tried it any other way. I would go to the Linkswell group on Facebook. There really good about answering customer questions.
Anytime I’m running my BT, I always make sure my WiFi is off and my phone is not plugged into the charging port. Illuminating additional signals, in my opinion, helps to increase the connect speed. I also learned that when I get in my truck and it is connecting to BT, if I place my phone near the bottom right side of the screen, it tends to connect very quickly. I don’t have to do this often as I auto start my truck and it is usually already connected when I get in. For the times that it doesn’t auto connect, I clear out all running screens in the background which will restart the zlink connect and it usually picks it right up. Just remember it’s a computer and sometimes you just have to restart it. For a more specific question, I would reach out to Jon Detlefsen who is Tech Support for Linkswell. He’s great about answering questions in the Facebook group. Hope this helps my friend.
@@theblkhorn2082 Jon has been super helpful on youtube with his tutorials for sure. Have you tried installing a different front end for the UI, and do you know of a way to get the tach, spedo, pitch and angle data on this? The XL version looks to have that as an option and I am really hoping I can do the same with my gen V
if you are listening to the radio and then you shut off your truck and leave , when you come back and restart the truck , Does it go back to the radio and start playing the radio ?
Great video, I decided to purchase the Gen 5. I like your custom boot up logo, did you do that yourself and if so what resolution did you use to create the logo. I tried the 768X1024 as Jon noted in his video, but it doesn't cover the entire screen like your boot logo does.
Congrats on the screen man! I hope you enjoy it. It’s been a while since I uploaded it. I will have to find the specs and get back to you on that. I might even do a video!
@@theblkhorn2082 Thanks dude, I love it so far still learning all the things I can do with it. I would appreciate it if you could do a video on the boot up screen or at the very least pass on the resolution specs. Keep up the good work.
Do you have a 360 camera system on your truck? Does it still work like the factory 360 if you do? I can't find no video with anyone having their 360 camera working with this radio
Hi my friend! To answer your question, I do not have the 360 camera but I would email Jonathan Detlefsen. His email is jon@linkswellinc.com. He is the brains behind Linkswell products and the guy you see in the RU-vid videos providing tips and information. He is the one to answer any of your questions regarding any Linkswell products. Hope this helps.
I got the 5th gen radio, but my button won't work anymore. The tow/haul, traction control, parking sensors nor heated seat buttons work. Does yours? @linkswellinc you got any answers for this? 2018 ram 1500 bighorn
The installer didn't install correctly if you're missing your bottom buttons. The installer I took to spent over a week getting it right. And they still forgot a few things. I bought through a LInkswell Distributor but they must not have enough experience or are thorough. I hope you returned it to the place that did the install and have them correct it.
I just looked this up and it doesn't work with Ram 1500 Rebel with Air Ride. But I might consider anyway because I got mine lifted and dont use the adjustable ride height settings
Definitely something to think about. I didn’t loose any features with the Bighorn that I have which is why I pulled the trigger. So far, loving this unit man.
You will need an external source. I use the hotspot on my phone when I want to use Wi-Fi. I find that I use my Bluetooth features more often than my hotspot. Hope this helps!
Linkswell is very responsive when it comes to answering questions about their products. I would ask this question on their Linkswell Inc Facebook page. I’m sure you will get a pretty quick response.
I don’t have an iPod but I would go to the Linkswell Facebook group and post the issue that you’re having there. The Linkswell team is very responsive and can usually tell you exactly what needs to be done to fix the problem.
Sorry for the late response. I took it to Car-Tunes in Greenville, MS. They are a certified Linkswell dealer and the installer Dalton Trainer, is literally one of the best in the industry.
Do you still like this radio? I want to install it into my Ram 2500 but I'm worried about two things. One, if it fails I will lose my AC/Heat, that's bad. Also my hazard button on my 5th Gen Ram has the traction control on the same button area. I see you have traction control at the bottom on the toggle. Mine is located with the hazard button, it's a dual button. I haven't seen how they can handle the traction control. I don't know if it's in the radio? If they remove that I lose traction control button. Do you have a soft button for traction control in the radio?
Love my radio! It’s been awesome so far. As far as traction control, it is still located in its stock position and not in the radio. Check out the Linkswell website and Facebook page. They are really great about answering questions for specific trucks.
@@theblkhorn2082 I have an ask. Oh, and thank you for replying. It makes me feel more at ease about installing the radio. I would like to know if you can check your radio settings for the traction control option in the software? Can you take a look? I can't install the radio without traction control. Thank you!
@@our12silly I’m currently a state away from my truck on vacation but below is a link to the man that knows everything about this radio. Please reach out to him with any questions. He’s very knowledgeable and provides great customer service. facebook.com/jonathan.detlefsen.7?mibextid=LQQJ4d
@our12silly did you get an answer on the traction control location? I was thinking on installing this today at a local dealer, but concerned about the traction control button.
@@0fficialmike wassup my guy. Honestly, when the dealer installed it for me, everything was set and I haven’t had any issues. I would say hit these guys through Facebook. The Linkswell group is really amazing about answering issues that people have with their radios or providing info on how tos. Here is the link to their page. facebook.com/LinkswellInc?mibextid=LQQJ4d
Absolutely functional my friend, as a matter of fact, I installed my dash cam and Incan view the dash cam through the Linkswell, I also do calls with my team using Microsoft teams. There’s so much you can do with this radio my guy! I absolutely love it! The Gen 6 is the updated version of this. Just fyi!!!
Yea, I caught that too. I don’t think that’s a Linkswell issue. I’m getting with my installer to see if that’s something that can be corrected. I’m thinking it might’ve happened during installation.
I need me a screen that size my ride I was looking at the Tesla screens you look for a whole stereo setup and I like how you got your truck on the screen that's the ticket right there
To my knowledge, not with the Gen 5, however, they do have a newer gen available that I’m still doing research on. Hopefully I can answer that question soon.
I wouldn’t necessarily say your loosing a feature. It comes with its own mic. I’m not sure if you can wire it to your factory mic or not. I just used the one it came with.
Not sure what kind of system you have in your vehicle, but you have to get familiar with the equalizers. I promise you if it’s set right, the sound will come out. I would also ask about this in the Linkswell Facebook group. They are great at replying and are super helpful.
It’s well worth it my friend. If your thinking about getting one, you can order it from www.adcmobile.com and you can use my coupon code: blkhorn83 to receive a discount. They have an updated Gen 6 version and XL style as well.
