My hats off to all who helped clean the 310. Very proud of the work they did. Count yourself blessed to have such wonderful volunteers. Great job guys.
Just got my private pilot license last week, I’ve been following the channel since I arrived in Florida. Hasn’t disappointed me and loving it. Going for my instrument license now, rushing a bit. Maybe I’ll have my license just after the 310’s first new flight. Keep it up!
Congratulations! If your looking for a career then nothing wrong with fast tracking as long as you can retain the training and info. Going for instrument right after is not rushing. That’s great. You should. Training is never a bad thing until it becomes too much pressure combined with the rest of life. Then you may run into problems.
You’re a legend Jimmy! I love how you have managed to mobilise a willing workforce… and jeez that plane is now nice and shiny!!! Good luck from across the pond 🇬🇧
Oh Yeah, EA6B Prowler Avionics Tech here too. Very little know secret, the military doesn't go to war without Jammers. I was in VAQ-137 the Rooks & VAQ-309 the AxeHoles, oh sorry, the Axemen. Loved the show! The 310 is looking great! Hats off to the 310 crew. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya
How could anyone leave that beautiful airplane to rot away I am so glad Jimmy is restoring it It’s an act of great courage and deep pockets You are the best Jimmy
Jimmy... Fantastic video! EXCELLENT production. Terrific cinematography... fantastic music score... amazing editing! The quality of your videos have exponentially gotten better in the past few months. Kudos to the 310 Cleaning Crew!
I'm loving being part of Jimmy's world, easily my favourite RU-vid channel for the last few weeks since I found you. Haven't been able to get my license yet so living vicariously through this haha
@@Codiac15 you should both consider Light Sport Rules, only need a drivers license. If you are ever denied a medical or lose a medical you can not fly light sport and the only thing left is UL I would not qualify for a medical so fly light sport ( with my doctor’s blessings) . Check out all your options and rules before going for the Medical.
I subbed at the finding of the 310. Don’t ask me why an ex trawler man who’s scared of heights want too watch a broken down ol plane being resurrected I just am 😅 keep it up jimmy 😂✌️🇬🇧
I’m sooo digging the 310. Started my aviation career at Embry Riddle in Daytona. Got my A&P there as well as Bachelor in Management. Wanted to fly but couldn’t afford the flight fees after the first semester. Dad being a E-7 in the Army I was paying my own way thru college. After working for several years post college for McDonell Douglass/Boeing I started my flight training for my PPL. Then found out I was a diabetic so lost that via a medical. Had I been able to get my multi-rating I always dreamed of getting a 310…” my favorite GA plane. And love your side comments about “never challenge or dispute the CDC.” I hear ya 5x5!
Hey, saving the 310 was a must for anyone who remembers Sky King, Penny and the Songbird! She's looking beautiful and will be even better when you get her all back together. There's no reason or justification to not reinstall the original interior pieces especially when the guys got them looking like new. Keep'em! Put'em in! Can't wait to see her back together and turnin' her props!
Hey Jimmy awesome volunteers 👍 to all you guys great work, and Jimmy for stepping in to our brothers in the Restration 401 project up north.Theses wonderful birds are the true honest twins of our generation keep up the great work.
Hey Jimmy..love your vids…my dad was a Bonanza pilot..from 68 to 90…I have the original wooden paddle Beech propeller that was on his 47 ..straight 35.Bonanza..88”..in beautiful condition…it was removed in 68 and replaced with a aluminum 82” propeller..he had a 59 K35 Bonanza..those airplanes were bulletproof…rarely ever gave any problems
I love what your doing. Fun fact, my dad used to own a cessna 320 with a simalar paint scheme so this brings back many memories. Unfortunataly he had to land it with the nose gear not locked. He still lives to tell the storie and some foto's to brag about it.
Love what your doing. The 310 looks great cleaned up. Got my license in the early 90's got married and grounded due to AIDS (airport induced divorce syndrome) kid's out of school want to get back in cockpit!!! This is very inspiring to see the hard work you are doing. Living in Missouri to far to help but I'm there in sprit. CLEAR PROP!
Rodny really you make me passionate about what happened with you ..the AIDS is it really affected your marriage life?I understand the effects of retirement or leaving a work..such as depression..and belonginig to that time.
WONDERFUL!!!!! This is such a heart-warming series - for all us 310-lovers around the globe!!! For authenticity and originality, keep what ever you can - That interior came back to life, literally - and it would be a pity to scarp it for something modern & 'fancy'. The whole airplane oozes of 'the Fifties! Stay on that path!! ALL THE BEST OF LUCK - you love this airplane - you deserve to get it all right!!!
Great videos Jimmy. Stumbled upon this and another channel's plane rebuilding (with a cameo from you). My son is studying for his CPL and find these interesting. G'day from Sydney Australia.
Now the work begins! Glad you mentioned the diseases caused by the mouse crap. I’ve only got about an hours worth of vacuuming left on the Cessna 150a I’m rescuing. I’ve already made a pass down the runway to test the airspeed indicator. Looks like I’m past all the cheap fixes and now it going to cost real money if it’s going to fly.
Thanks mighty mouse bgone team six for scrubbing away the mouse house smells and dribbles!!glad you could put ur sweat n time to give our jimmy the help he needed to get things moving.from all of us out here give ur selves a pat and a hooray. To effort on saving the 310,bless ur 💕 hearts.snooky pa.🤐🤪💥💯💥🤟
I have experience with mousepiss smelling interiors. Quick, easy, effective fix. If you can, leave the interior in the rain and let the sun dry it. It works better then any product you can buy.
Jimmy. Thanks for what you do. Apart from the project you do, you take off a lot of stress from a lot of people. You give people a chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of their worlds to yours. For this I say God Bless you and well done 👏
Always wondered why you did all the removal with out a mask, googles, and sometimes no gloves. I ran into this situation at a friends house years ago. Got suited up, chased everyone away, scooped, and vacuumed everything out. Then I set a fan in the area to cycle the air. Good job guys.👍
That even looks lika an airplane again!! Keep the interior!! Looks awesome!! And if you replace it, those guys would have done all that work for nothing.....
Hi Jimmy, great channel can't fly as to old and too busy, plus not so easy over here in England, but watching you on this channel has inspired me to get a lot of my unfinished projects done, old Tractor, Motor Bike, various engines. I might not be able to get over and help you personally but I'm with you all the way in spirit. More Power to your Elbow. Regards Richard 🇬🇧
Greetings from sunny (?) England! It's great to see this old bird starting to come alive. She looked like an ugly duckling no-hoper when you found her but there's a swan of an airplane lurking under all that filth. You are doing a fantastic job: this airplane is part of our heritage and by restoring her, you are motivating others to save our heritage too. Keep it up!
Since bumped into this channel well can't get enough olways I keep my notifications on just just to watch Jimmy's funniest plane building ... my day won't be completed untill I watch Jimmy's uploads love it ...good job for keeping us laughing and we'll entertain...👍
I soloed at the age of 16 and went up through the civilian ranks until I finally realized my dream and life’s ambition to become an airline pilot. I retired as a United B737 Captain in 2018. Love your series and I am looking forward to seeing this thing fly soon.
Being a professional upholstery guy I would replace the interior upholstery,…after you know it’s going to stay in the air. : ) Let me know and I’ll cut you a deal when your ready. Save the 310 !
Hey Jimmy, I own a panel shop in South Africa, get yourself some farecla G360 polish, it's just something else when it comes to restoring and getting a glass finish on old paint, trust me you won't be disappointed... I use it on my own plane 😉 Fantastic channel, keep up the good work and content
Hey, Jimmy, the bass riff during your disclaimer is SO COOL!! We,, probably because I am a bass player - have an old USA P-bass, a sweet 5-string Ibanez, and a Peavey TNT-130 amp. I have experience in cleaning pipe organs... Mike Rowe did a "Dirty Jobs" segment on that.... dead birds, mouse and rat nests... mold, water damage, same stuff! No opinion on the interior other than, if money is the only issue, keep it; no need to spend needlessly. And thanks for the advert for My Pillow sneakers... I have some of Mike's products.... great stuff! Will get some sneakers.
My name is Timothy and I am a 3rd generation airplane enthusiast. I’m currently serving as a maintainer in the USAF. I would absolutely love to more involved in the world aircraft like you are. Keep posting amazing videos!
Hey Jimmy, I applaud your ambitious journey to raise the ole girl from the dead-at 68, and 50 years of aviating, I’m afraid I wouldn’t live long enough to see her resurrection ( mainly because my wife would shoot me first)! That said, I’m am enjoying living vicariously through your videos. One suggestion: Here in Texas , we call every one thousand $ bill spent on an airplane an “AMU” (Aviation Monetary Unit)- seems to make it it a little less painful to see all the “zeros” and easier for my brain to do the math. ;)
Great video. I was cleaning out the inside tail of a PA-28. The whole tail was full of birds nest. Lucky for me, the nest came equipped with a huge black bird that refused to go. Lots of people watching and laughing as I held the bird evicting it. What a job. I wish you luck on the planes. I love My Pillow pillows.
Hey bro couple of comments... In all seriousness, what happened today around that airplane is what makes America great. And secondly, you are hitting it between the eyes...... Most people don't have the balls to finish what they start. Thank you for bringing us in on possibly one of the greatest projects that I have seen on RU-vid in a very long time. Can't wait to see that sucker fly. Darryl Central Florida
Absolutely love the feel of this channel.. I knew you and I would get along.. and the my pillow sponsor confirms why I thought so ... Wish I had been picked to help save the 310 but who knows! Maybe one day!
Another great video Jimmy. Well done to you and the team on a great effort with cleaning the 310. Keep up the great work. I’m looking forward to the next instalment. Best wishes from Gloucestershire, England. 🏴 🇺🇸
Hey Jimmy. I can’t give you a thumbs down, because I love this video. I am a big fan, and I am actually looking at a 310 myself. I think you should dump the interior. I think you should start fresh with all new interior. Make the interior what you want it to be. She shines up really nice and pretty! Can’t wait to see when you reinstall the vertical and horizontal stabilizer. Will really start looking like an airplane then. Keep up the great work with the videos, iTunes into them as soon as I possibly can after you release them.
Jimmy I bought those My Pillow Slipper awhile back and they are Great But you are absolutely correct about buying one size bigger. I highly recommend those slipper Best Wishes
