Not very surprising. Hamilton's sweet spot is below this price point. Tudor and GS do their best work above. The number of Longines tell us what we already knew: $3k-ish is their target price point.
Incredible, just increidble! The amount of effort you put into these videos is second to none. Besides, this one just made me realize how personal watch choices are. Many of the watches I liked couldn't even make it to the second round.
The Longines moonphase is one of my favorite watches I own. I personally prefer the black dial with the Roman numerals. Solid watch through and through!

Longines utterly dominates this this price point, and the moonphase is a true diamond in the rough! I saw an ad for a new Year of the Dragon version recently which might be what got it more recognition.
Great watches mentioned. Very surprised by some of these rounds, but I believe it’s fair to say that Longines dominates this price range in terms of quality and versatility imo
As a relative newbie to the watch world, I’ve become a big fan of Longines. While many brands have models that I connect with, Longines seems to have the most so far. Lots of winners on this list IMHO though.😎👏👏
Grand Seiko is my preference. I am not into Longines, but that Moonphase is ridiculously good not even considering the price. When taking price into account, it’s a steal. I’d give serious props to anyone wearing that watch.
Think that’s prob why the Longines won. The GS is great but it’s not even close to the best that GS is capable of. . . Whereas if we are taking the 3k cap into account, this Longines is major firepower and value from the brand.
I love watches but I am not even deserving to be called a novice compared to others in this conversation. My wife got me a Longines flagship Moon phase ( with the help of my 15 years old son) and I love that watch, I am absolutely in favor of this decision and really not surprised at all. In the past I bought 4 watches and unfortunately they are all Tag Heuers but this is the most beautiful watch in this price point in my opinion.
The fact is that all the watches on the tournament are great watches. I'm very pleased that Longines Flagship Moon Phase got the victory. A well deserved victory for the company as voted by the people.
I'm genuinely shocked that the Hydroconquest didn't take it. That watch is UNNECCESARILY good at that price point. But I think we're seeing a change in the guard and this might be part of that confirmation. Smaller sizes and more versatile yet elegant pieces are making a come back. And congratulations to Longines for becoming an absolute value powerhouse. Can't go wrong at all...for now.
I had a beer too many, HC is far from ugliest but this competition was for masses, not for people who know watches :). 16 most popular ones, not the best ones. But HC is up there for sure.@@nikolaikrustev1159
Longines Master Collection Moonphase (black with roman numerals and moonphase only not the crazy complicated one) was my modest grail watch when I first started this hobby. Even though I own tool watches that are more expensive, that moonphase is still my favorite watch. Cool to see a moonphase win a watch tournament!!
What is really interesting is that almost all this Longines options has been released in the last couple years (approximately). I got the sector dial before the launch of the other Longines in this video, and I can't stop thinking about what would happen if this tournament took place a couple years ago. I'm glad this Grand Seiko didn't win : I can't see a quartz watch winning the title of the best watch in this case. I have nothing against quartz watch, but automatic and mechanical movement are what is making the purity of the enginneering for a watch, and represents one of the flagrant criteria to me. Longines have always been a great brand but recently they have been on fire. Their exposure on watch social media has been immense, their branding is solid, but most importantly the watches in that price bracket are incredible value for money. Not to take away from their competitors, but they really deserve to win this arena. Surprised it was the flagship moonphase, but still a beautiful watch, similar to the JLC ultra thin moonphase at a fraction of the price. Fun video thanks
Great video, I cant wait for the $4,000 & $5,000 price categories. Well done to Longines but I would have chosen any other Longines but this one, specifically the GMT hydroconquest in this price category!
Bought a Longines Hydroconquest GMT recently from your site and your online salespeople were just the best! Loved the customer support, the incredible price and fast shipping... not to mention my BEAUTIFUL, green gmt!! (Was going to go for the black and orange option... but yall suggested the green face and boy am I glad I listened!!)
Surprising the Club Sport lost by such a big margin to the Spirit 😮 I would have still picked the legend diver over the moonphase, but it strictly comes down to personal preference 😅
WOW. I'm a complete watch nerd, and a Longines fan wearing my legend 39mm diver as I type this, and I have barely a passing awareness of this model. It's gorgeous, but a dress watch? So weird! Happy to see Longines in general deservedly work their way up the food chain though!
I’m Surprised as Well, I love Longines, have 3 of them. Also Love GS as well. I think GS should have won, even being a Quartz, it’s a Very versatile watch. Just IMO. I’m not needing a dress watch right now, but if I did, I think the Moonphase offers tremendous value. A classic design with a unique complication for the price point.
I absolutely love that a dress watch came out on top! I recently picked up my 1st dress watch. Orient Bambino Small Seconds and I’ve been wearing it non stop! My SMP300 took the back seat 😂
Hardly any surprise for me. Longines heritage moonphase is great watch. Price, performance, looks. It have everything you want. Legend diver is my 2nd option. Longines really a king in 3000$ price range.
I agree with you about this being a beautiful watch. But it’s more in dress watch category and most people prefer sport watches - dive, field, chronos. Thus the surprise
I'm not surprised that the Longines flagship moonphase won the tournament, I'm more surprised by the fact that it was seed 8 in the beginning. Also, eventhough I have a lot of respect for GrandSeiko in general, I don't see the charm of SBGP013 for me. Maybe I'm biased because I'm not the biggest quartz fan

Two brands that are growing on me, Longines and Hamilton. The last had no idea that even exist, seen some nice models. Also saw The new Mido line for this year, had some really cool models. By the way got over 90% of my choices winning and the final winner
Surprised but not surprised. I have the Longines Master Collection Moonphase on the steel bracelet and I still love it and wear it all the time. It's very similar to the winner.
I think my first place would have been the Hydroconquest GMT, but that Flagship Moon Phase would have been a close second. Those two would make an amazing two watch collection too.
I thought the GS should have won but maybe some people did not pick it as it is a quartz. Really like these comparisons though. Can’t wait for $5k and up
I agree 💯 I guess accuracy had no bearing lol the L899 movement is based on the ETA A31.L91 which at a rating of +-20 secs a day and for 3k price point.....yeah no.
Recently bought the Longines Flagship Moonphase and have only just seen this video. Clearly my opinion mirrors the people's. What a stunning watch. Look at the back of the watch as well, gorgeous 😍
Brilliant! I'm happy elegance won the tournament. Maybe in the summertime this vote would have gone differently. I'm just a bit sad there was only one rectangular watch in the initial 45. There would have been a few interesting and classy choices.

The Longines Spirit is a stunner in person. Would be nice to see them update the curvature of the lugs and the matching bracelet for their entire Spirit lineup in 2024. Otherwise a fantastic series.
That is crazy because I was trying to pick out the winner when you were showing the first round. And when you showed the future winner I thought to myself that’s the one I want to be the winner, but the watch collectors won’t pick it haha! I love it.
I really enjoyed watching this, but would be great to see this based on category AND price, versus a free for all at sub $3K price point. Keep up the great work!
