i think he would have either way. Carl told markus multiple times that he should think of his own and not just do what he is programmed for. I think that carls character in general and his empathy towards him made markus a deviant.

It makes the whole story pretty cynical because Markus's android revolution wasn't possible just through his personal strength of will or character or anything, it was only made possible because he was a prototype and had magic brainwashing powers

I was in tears over Markus staying silent during his speech and the public opinion going to "impatient" I don't even know why I found it that funny but something about him just blankly staring at the ground like he's having an update is hilarious to me.
Ironically, the funniest part of this was the Marcus speech where he doesn’t say anything, since it’s barely even edited. It’s just a part of the game.
I feel like there should be a mod which changes it to max out reputation for staying silent instead, tbh a silent sad boi makes me feel better about the android resistance than one that's demanding things.
