The Detroit Lions know that they have a player poised to be great in Jahmyr Gibbs, but the question is what does have have to do to become the next Christian McCaffrey? He has all the tools but his RB coach knows what he must do in order to become elite and help this team.

I still want Monty to start and set the tone offensively getting the tough chunks of yardage with force and then bring in Gibbs as an explosive weapon to punish the opposing defense with speed

I'm with you 100%! Hit with Dmont and get the defense used to don't who will hit you and then hit them with Gibbs and while they're bracing for an impact he blows right around you!!! A STRAIGHT RIGHT AND AN OPPERCUT!! BOOM BOOM!!

I think the typical wear and tear of the season will give us plenty more Gibbs. The beauty of a high powered offense is to have just too many weapons that can't be stopped.

Recency bias, and youth, tend towards not knowing about a guy like Roger Craig. Christian McCaffrey is damned good, for today's NFL. I don't think he's physically big enough to compare with RB's like Roger Craig, Eric Dickerson, or Marshall Faulk. Even Barry was heavier built. The toll the game takes on a RB makes the accomplishments by these guys incredible. Roger Craig had 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in a single season. That's a HOF accomplishment and there's a host of reasons why it's not done by anyone today, despite the longer schedules. All that said, and with respects paid to the past, Jamyr Gibbs could be one of those "Guys"

I know what you mean, I took over a dynasty team in 2011 and have been building through the draft. Because it's dynasty, we only draft rookies. I drafted Kupp as a rookie not knowing if they'd be good, along with CMC, Montgomery, Kyren Williams, Jordan love, jamo. And last year with my 3rd overall pick, I drafted Gibbs and then Laporta with my next pick. Then picked up Detroit D. Monty, Gibbs and Laporta got me to championship last season 🏆

Gibbs will be better than both McCaffrey and Kamara.

No he won’t. He’s not going to put up 2100 APYs and score 21 TDs in a season. Not in a tandem. And, like Kamara, he is a career tandem guy due to his size. Christian is a workhorse back. He is one of a few who can lay that distinction. It takes both the Lions RBs to give you what he does. Gibbs has a long way to go here.
