I prefer to sign Claxton than Hartenstein. JD is still 20 years old. Reducing his minutes wouldn't hurt that much. Trading with Portland can be interesting because the Pistons can get Brogdon, Grant, and Portland's 14th pick. Getting Lauri may be too far for the Pistons; the Pistons' assets are not appealing to Ainge.

How one sec u say fans wouldn't accept Hartenstein or Claxton because they see Duren as the future started then say Duren and Stewart would good enough at rim protection? Duren gotta go to the bench or off the team.

What top teir established coached would want to come to Detroit... ? As far as a Langdon bring in his own guys that's the whole point of evaluating monty! Langdon obviously doesn't have a coach already lined up to replace monty.

I think Claxton or Hartenstein contract is the biggest issue. I personally think they should trade the pick for an established big and move down. They way they get a big and a young guy. They can trade the big sooner than later

If those 3 candidates are true, i'd roll with Chris Quinn. He's a young guy from that Miami Riley-Spoelstra discipline. JJ Redick hasn't been on an NBA sideline getting XP.

The more I listen to FA signings and cap info, the more I don't want us to sign guys. At this point, just resign Cade to the max if he wants to stay and continue to rebuild. You are not going to be competitive next season. Get young guys that fit around Cade like what OKC did and if Cade doesn't want to buy in then trade him. I'm not saying keep all the young guys but evaluate this young core and make adjustments where they need to be. If you don't like the Cade and Ivey backcourt, then trade Ivey. Don't think Duren is gonna be a franchise center, then trade him. Get Donavan Clingan and maybe even Andrew Nembhard to fill in Ivey and Durens spot and run it back next season. I'm all for building around Cade, but we have no assets, no core identity, and nobody compliments each other. If we're going to ACTUALLY compete, then gather assets first, build an identity and THEN go for a chip.

Malik Monk averaged 15 points per game. That’s his ceiling. Claxton is another Center. If you bring in Clax you have to trade Stewart.

Malik Monk is a perfect complement to Cade, Monk could easily be an all star caliber player, we need to overpay for him… we could offer him the most money of any team so we NEED to get it done.

So basically what Noah is saying is that TL has no power at all that all these decisions were made before he got hired. How is TL suppose to be successful if all the decisions are being made for him? Monty was BY FAR the worst we've had in the last 2 decades.

Monty is a fine, fine coach. Pistons should keep him and give him more freedom with the club. Meddling from Gores and Tellum has been one of the main problems with the Pistons. Monty needs a free hand to operate with. Monty was right about Ivey but also only played Hayes on orders from Tellum and Weaver.
