What does that say about your franchise when you commit to a guy with an established track record and resume and then bail after one year not to mention the $60M? How bad can this guy be all of a sudden? I’d at least try and hold on for one more year bring some associate coach in if you have to for team morale issues what have you. And get one more hopefully top 5 pick next summer out of this.

The Pistons don't have to pay him...the owner does. It doesn't have any effect on cap space for the team.

Poorly run franchises like this, with mediocre management, is why perspective and future coach’s, GM’s, and upper management need to be careful because the “team” that selected the coach…fired him after his first season….and let him walk away with 65 mil…….says it all!
