how do we know the black people in this story are even smart enough to get a state ID? she should first prove she know how before she can teach again. Same with this black reporter...he could just be making up words.
@@deruberschwarze3943 I think it's better than OnlyFans teachers. Depends on what her music is about, rapping it self wouldn't be conduct unbecomming. Theres are alot of people in the military who play music in various forms and most of it is adult oriented, aka PG13+. Pop, rock, rap, metal - Sex, drug, inappropriate relationship references..It's only really inappropriate if it's excessively any of these things. Also these are HighSchoolers. The music they listen to is 100% worse in content for sure, or equatable. Just seems weird.
*I know why they fired her, because as soon as they teacher steps into the classroom all the students be screaming on top of theyre lungs early in the morning "YEEEEEEEERRRRRRRR" 😂*
Man, I'm a black man from the projects & she's crazy for saying she was discriminated against. Stop using the racist card it's because you're rapping about killing & ignorance, these kids' brains are like sponges they absorb things very easily at this age. Pick a career educating & enlightening the youth or poisoning them with your ignorant lyrics.
Look It may be off the clock but it’s not private and seeing you teach and then rap about nonsense is insane. If she was rapping like Will Smith then maybe she would get a break
I agree I was thinking the same thing ..well exactly what is she rapping about must be the problem .I'm 40 I still write music and make songs but I definitely kept my message as positive as possible at all times.
This is wild! It's already hard to find good teachers, but they acknowledged her work and still fired her for what she does in her private life. Crazy!
She doesn't work at McDonald's, she is a teacher. Like most adults with real careers you can't just do whatever off the clock. Also, it's not private. All of it is public on YT. My job is nowhere near children but if I put out a video talking about pipin hoes and kicking down the ops doors, like most adults with real jobs, I'd get fired 😑 Her rapping was not the problem. It was the content.
@@DIGITAL27if she was teaching well then I don’t see the problem tbh, she could’ve even been a stripper. If they’re doing their job then why care about what they do on the side?
Because one whole teacher is a rapper makes the whole system bad? Dont get me wrong, its awful! But, It is not on the teachers that the school system is too lazy to teach important subjects. They're there to teach but they can't decide what to teach the whole school.
Congrats on her growing career but I wouldve fired her too. These kids need a role model. They come to school & get thrown into exactly what their parents want them to avoid. Thats like needing to eat healthy and when your parents send you to the nutrionist that very person is serving them McDonalds.
@@weirdcore-xo6bb There are a lot of jobs that require you to behave outside of work. If you don't understand that, you don't understand accountability.
@@Joe-qm4yv Exactly, the test scores should speak for themselves. If the administration knew that the students were doing well and had good grades, they shouldn't have fired her.
If their parents consented, who cares? Children act all the time, and get harmed, and we all have to mind our own business because their parents consented to them being there.
@@v.g7279 Fire her. who cares. I know the parent wont teach their child. Theyre too busy playing detective on the internet. Also, her content was not known to the students and seems like her work peers either UNTIL all this jumped off. She'll be better for it.
It's not about rapping, it's about the content she is delivering and the messages it's bringing to them. The video does not look professional towards young, impressionable kids. Any parent that wants their kids to be successful would say no to this. Rap about history, math, reading, ect.
I agree. We, as parents and teachers, are the most impressionable to our children. I can't believe any parent will agree to this behavior from a teacher! This is why our race is failing socially and academically. This has nothing to do with discrimination, but everything to do with professionalism. We, as a race, use discrimination far too much. We have no accountability, but it's good that the school district is holding her accountable. It's hard for me to understand why this teacher doesn't see the problem. Videos are clearly not professional.
Pay us teachers more so we’re not doing “inappropriate” side hustles. Edit: I am a teacher. I coach and bartend on the side. No inappropriate hustle over here! But, I see teachers breaking their backs to make ends meet! Stop with the assumptions. I understand my comment may have been vague but to assume the worst about me--eh, I guess welcome to the internet where anything goes!
@@kevinhaynes3476what do you mean giving the backbone of the American economy a comfortable wage isn’t the way? Her personal and professional life are separate. As long as she’s just talking history in class, there shouldn’t be a problem.
I definitely came to 👀 the comments. Blessings to this teacher on everything working out for her, and hopefully, this helps her to receive a bigger 💰 bag
You just can’t be an idiot! If you teach be careful what you say in your songs. Yes! Personal life can affect your career❤ not even just a teacher. it’s unfortunate but it’s life.
Your going of straight assumptions. Plenty of people make positive , or socially conscious rap. She even asked , what they objected to and received no answer. Would they do the same if she was a Counrty artist.
The fact that in her video with the kids in it, she was dressed differently and what she was rapping about was clean, let’s you know that she knows better. In her other videos she cussing and dressed in a twerk outfit. Be who you are but when it comes to being a role model, there’s a standard to uphold when the kids are around and when they are not because they are always watching whether you know it or not.
@fiyahriddims How are you holding the teacher to a higher standard outside work hours on her personal time than the parents that should be supervising their own children and what they watch? This is crazy. You don't want your kids watching put parent controls on their electronics, take away their electronics but stop holding teachers hostage about what they can and cannot do outside of work if it's not hurting anyone.
@@fiyahriddims and this is a concept people cant understand. Once you are in a certain vocation, there are something you cannot do. That is just common sense. In a different context, if this was the lecturer at a University it would be different. Why, because you are not teaching people in their formative years. There is such a thing as age appropriate behavior, and it is considered because of how the human mind develops. Those who neglect this fact will always face the consequences and society throughout the ages is your best proof. This by no means states I am against rap or I am against her career. I am saying if she wants to do that, she cannot be teaching young children.
@@406MenaceRacecar what are you talking about I didn’t ask you anything? And the title of the video says “Detroit teacher”, that the city I was talking about

Minimum wage is $10.33 per hour in Detroit Teachers in that area make close to $54,000 a year the first 2 years teaching then the salary goes up quickly.... So it's a little more than a thousand per week.. that's not minimum wage
@@CyberFas In a perfect world, sure. In REAL LIFE after taxes, take away 33% then keep in mind thats the average salary. Teachers burnout in 3 yrs like NFL running backs. New teachers make 35-40k. We have to stop accepting the "anything goes" attitude. Her lyrics don't sound uplifting, or positive. She needs to speak about our positive History if shes a Te.acher. I'm not feeling her side gig as a educator unless it was about bringing Truth to Power. These kids have enough distractions and the Teacher shouldn't be one of them.
What? So freedom of speech isn't for teachers? Since when? I just got out and reread my constitution, doesn't say teachers have to stfu when not in the classroom.
I mean all honesty I wouldn’t want a rapper that’s talking about sex and money being my kids teacher either it doesn’t look good from a professional standpoint no disrespect to her and wish her nothing but success on her music career
This is why most of our kids don’t know how to read and do math. Teachers hopping around attempting to rap like idiots on a music video instead of doing lesson plans….smh

As a “rapper” myself you need to choose one or the other. You can’t go from involving yourself in a culture thats based off of every explicit aspect you can think of to being Mrs. Frizzle. It just doesn’t work like that. It would be totally different if she made pop music or something.
We've devolved into low vibe entitled jungle bunnies that grow marijuana indoors just to complain about power outages or fires created by them and dead firemen

Well, I’m black and I do not understand it that’s for ratchet people and everybody is not ratchet. You need to resign now and if you don’t school system need to be sued.
The fact that she can't see what she did wrong is why she was fired. Also you guys didn't bother reporting whether the charter school hired her as a non-union teacher. That would explain the "mysterious concerned parent" (who was more than likely another teacher or administrator) couldn't be bothered to come forward despite constant reporting and complaining but leaving no paper trail behind. There's some politics behind this even if she's a rachet. I like the way ya'll were sneak dissing her with the cutaways to her lurid rap videos and lyrics. Not very subtle.

What is also in question is that if she knew it was not unethical, why didn't she tell the school about it so that they could support her? Also, they are really going to focus on those explicit lyrics in her songs and videos. It may have been different if she did not have students involved and it was completely separate, she could have had a stronger argument. With all the cases recently of teachers and sexual relationships with students, they probably wouldn't want to chance it no matter how innocent her intentions were. Weighing which is most harmful a lawsuit from the actions of aformer teacher for her ethical decisions or multiple parents because the same parents that would be ok with this would still easily jump in on a class action suit.
I’ve been teaching 28 years, 17 in Detroit and the rest in Florida but as long as what she does on the side is legal freedom of expression and she has not changed committed a crime her teaching record should stand on it’s own.
This is stupid without even watching the videos someone was hating on Domonique Brown and using any excuse to fire her. The comments about inappropriate side hustles its not inappropriate we all listen to rap its poetry, its art, its music; that idiot parent and school board should be happy they hired a woman who liked her job and was talented and creative. If you go to the mall their is rap playing, at the grocery store their playing rap, in commercials look at Walmart Easter commercials, the school even plays rap at the graduation and at school dances, not to mention the parents and staff play rap music driving to and from the school and everywhere in between every day so the nerve of them to fire her is wrong. I hope Domonique Brown can advance in her rap career constructively and just like she taught in the school them paying her crumbs to deal with their non sense can be history.
