this is actually not a bad idea... Just like they did with drag racing where street racers could race against cops. Just set up some basic, simple ground rules and let it go. I don't know the true state of things there because i dont even think i should be talking about this since i am not even american, but i think it's a great idea and it would build up trust amongst police and civilians. You can never know if its going to work or not, but its definitely worth to try.

@@carsnob i am confidant that there are ways to work around the negatives you brought up as concerns. But i believe that after a while, people would become more responsible in regards of shooting a kid with a paintball gun (given certain penalties and so on). As for getting community dirty and stuff, i think it would be a solution if the paintballs would contain a eco friendly color, that would wash away after the first rain. Don't get me wrong but, if you give a fine to a person that doesn't have a job and is having a rough time with money, that person is going to turn to criminal activities sooner or later, because that person wont have any other choice. And if you arrest them, then you have just sent them to a criminal school where they will learn to do even more dumb and dangerous things and they wont be able to contribute to society, because they simply wont know any better. Set up some ground rules, educate a person and try to introduce a little empathy into their brains, so they wouldn't go shoot a kid with a paintball gun. Set up paintball courts and shops across cities and create work places for them. I think this way, you would show them that they are not worthless and it would give them a little purpose and meaning in their lives. This is just one idea that the "government" could do for their society. Imagine how many other options are there to try to rehabilitate someones way of thinking.

No amount of equipment or officers in the way they operate now will never fix crime.
