Oh yea brings back memories of when I was in the U. S. Army. After we installed the deep water fording kit, oh yea we had to try it out! The kit consisted of the exhaust stack, an intake snorkel and an air pressure line that connected to the water resistant bell housing, with the positive air pressure in the bell housing, helped keep the clutch dry! That kit gave the truck a 9' depth rating!! If the water was that deep, you were instructed to set the hand throttle, then the seat bottom folded back so you could stand up and drive! Even the gas, called Mogas vehicles could do that with the kits! As they had sealed waterproof ignition systems.

This is awesome! Someone had a military deuce not far from where I live. I go to work and I sometimes see it in a bean field with a big water tank in the back. I've been heading to work and seen it driving on the highway, it's a BEAST!
@scalahan23
@scalahan23 12 лет назад
The road to my camp floods when the MS river rises (usually in the Spring) Sometimes you can go by car; other times by boat; sometimes neither. This is because some of the road is too deep for a truck, and some of the road is high and dry (keeps boats from making it all the way). During this time, no one else can get there (unless you have an airboat that you don't mind sledding across a gravel road for a half mile or so)

Real Southern Dad there, we did the same thing after Sandy brushed our coast, water came up to 61/2 feet, Deuce and a 1/2 got us and 4 others out. God bless the US Army auctions!!
@scalahan23
@scalahan23 11 лет назад
These kids are experienced swimmers and actually scuba dive. We are traversing a hard gravel road that floods annually in the spring. The purpose of the trip is to check on my camp and to do a little hunting. I pride myself in safely exposing my kids to things that even most adults never get a chance to experience. Good parenting? You're damn right!!! How many 8 and 10 year olds can say they've flown a plane or driven a deuce and a half? I guess I could get them some vagisil and a video ga
