Deuce bus vs Monorail: What is better on Las Vegas strip?

in this video, I discuss when it would make more sense between whether to ride the Las Vegas RTC deuce bus or the Las Vegas monorail. Which way I think is the best way to get around the strip. Including which is better to ride around the strip, how to get to the airport from the strip, how to get to Fremont from the strip. How to get to the Las Vegas convention center. Also, the pros and the cons of the monorail and the Las Vegas Deuce bus.

Well done 👍🏻 I’m staying downtown 6 nights but going to two shows on opposite sides of the strip. Thought I’d park free at the Sahara & take the monorail to the Venetian. Next night park free at Treasure Island and then walk to Bellagio.

Deuce took us from Fremont to Sahara but Monorail is way on the other side. The elevated view on the monorail is great and you shouldn't miss it.

Another great video, I prefer the Deuce, because we always pick the STRAT as our last Casino, we then cross the street and catch the bus to the airport.
@VegasEducation
@VegasEducation 2 года назад
I'm curious why you like the strat so much? I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with it, other than the location. We'd never stay there because we like walking around too much

I actually like taking long walks in Vegas. I walked from Virgin Hotel to Binon's downtown. Took 2 hrs. It's a great way to see Vegas. Cabs are expensive. The Bus ride back was about $6

I haven't been to Vegas many times ... well in my life, I remember the first time I went on the monorail... it was free, but I don't think it was quite as long as it is today, but still FREE. My last time to Vegas I used city buses , but I was going to the convention center not the strip and the $6 all day pass was plenty good for my needs, granted you see the ugly backs of every bus on the strip as you drive a parallel street over, but what do I care.

Great information. I'm gonna be staying at Circus Circus this coming October and it looks like the Deuce will be the way to go for me. I don't mind a good walk and I may use the monorail when I visit other casinos. Should be interesting

The monorail is good if you are at one of the out of strip hotels or going to the convention centre. Outside of this you're quicker walking or getting the bus.

I am heading to Vegas and staying at Westgate. I am guessing I should invest in taking the Monorail. Especially if I am heading back to Westgate after a show at the Sphere.
@VegasEducation

Yes. For Westgate, the monorail would be an absolute must
@alk61695

@VegasEducation and post show at the Sphere, I am guessing it's safer to take the monorail back to Westgate rather than walking it?
@VegasEducation
@VegasEducation 2 месяца назад
Yes. I would definitely consider the monorail safer. The strip isn't exactly in a "safe" part of town. The fact that there are so many tourists around on the strip keeps it fairly safe. Once you start wandering off strip, you need to be a little bit more paranoid. You probably wouldn't have any trouble walking, but I'd be 100x more comfortable taking the monorail. The monorail is pretty much completely safe

Does the bus accommodate mobility scooters? The Monorail and the free trams all easily allow mobility scooters onboard.

Yes. The deuce has 2 spaces for scooters, if I remember correctly

Bus for sure. Screw the monorail? That is a tourist trap ride, more so than transit. The bus runs directly on the street.
@VegasEducation
@VegasEducation 2 года назад
Exactly. Monorail seems a lot better in theory than actually using it
@ShawnPack
@ShawnPack 2 года назад
@@VegasEducation That's a great way to put it. Seems better in theory than the execution. If they'd have made it go to the airport, it'd have been pure gold. I have heard from multiple sources that when the monorail was planned they were planning to go to the airport. But the taxi cab authority fought hard against that happening. Years later the taxis are taking it in the shorts when ride share hit the scene. My heart bleeds... (NOT).

Going for mainly 4 nights of phish this april at the sphere. Besides the main stop hotels what are some other hotels on strip or safer short walks off strip at night. For example I found the days inn near aipeort is only 3 min walk to one of fhe rail stops. Any other suggestions?
@VegasEducation

Which hotel are you staying at? There is SO much to see on the strip that i wouldn't wander off the strip unless you are looking for something in particular you are looking for. Anything you are looking for in particular?

@matth268 oh, got it. I had misread that. Ive never stayed off strip, so i couldn't really recommend anything. I have noticed that the cheapest hotels on the strip are pretty comparable to the absolute cheapest motels in the city.

Bus or the monorail, which is safer at night, when traveling with family to north strip?
@VegasEducation
@VegasEducation 2 года назад
Which hotel do you mean by North strip? I think it's a toss up. The bus will be crowded at night. That can be good or bad, depending on how you look at it from a safety standpoint. The monorail is less crowded and has the potential to be nearly empty. That can be good or bad, depending on how you look at it

Flamingo to Mandalay bay @ 7pm and Flamingo to circus curcus, which would you recommend for each trip? Those are probably the furthest I plan to go.
@VegasEducation
@VegasEducation Год назад
Flamingo to Mandalay, you could use the monorail, but it'd only get you about halfway and then you'd walk to excalibur and get on the free tram to Mandalay. That's still a lot of walking to and from the monorail and over to excalibur. Not terrible walls though, just give yourself time The bus would certainly be less walking and usually isn't bad going south, even at night. To get to circus circus, the monorail is t going to do much good. You could take the bus, but it can be hit or miss at night going that direction, as they are crowded from people going to Fremont. It should be fine during the day

Why do people joke about crime in the area around the strip? This is the second video where someone said you'd be victimized at night. I walked Harmon and Flamingo all the time at night, it's fine. Everyone minds their business. If homeless people are sleeping there, that means it's a safe area bc they don't want to get raped or beaten. Homeless people know the safest areas. I'm a single woman to boot, so I wouldn't risk anything dangerous. There were whole families with kids walking same time as me, 9, 10 pm+. The college is right next door, I'd be more afraid of a bunch of college kids bothering me than anyone I saw at night. Maybe I'm wrong and there's a super high crime rate just off the strip, but I doubt it. The economy of the state would plummet and they wouldn't be building an F1 track right there.
@VegasEducation
@VegasEducation Год назад
Crime like that is about statistics and probabilities. You can be safe 99/100 times, etc. There is just a greater probability of something happening in the dark areas away from people than in the crowded spots with casino security and cameras around. Most likely, youll be fine, but whether you should do it just depends on your risk tolerance
