Jacob Zambon, a patron of the Volins' art, proposed that they relocate to Rabi'ah, citing CEO Nathaniel Brown's televised assurances of a sanctuary there for augmented individuals to express themselves freely without fear of societal prejudice. The Volins agreed to move to Rabi'ah, but encountered a significant obstacle: they required an Aug permit to exit the city, which the government had previously denied them. Their only recourse was to seek assistance from a group of criminals led by Drahomír, who operated a permit forgery ring. To acquire the necessary funds for forged permits, the Volins liquidated a considerable portion of their belongings and contemplated borrowing from Santeau. Although apprehensive, Helena reluctantly agreed, reassured by Petr that the endeavor would prove worthwhile. Regrettably, the Volins were unable to meet the extortionate demands of the criminals, who accused them of reneging on a prior agreement. Helena, recognizing the danger and financial strain, balked at the idea of yielding all their resources. Despite her reservations, Petr remained optimistic about negotiating a resolution and pledged to confront Drahomír's thugs at their apartment. Subsequently, reports of gunfire emanated from their residence. Investigations revealed the Volins' apartment ransacked, with traces of blood suggesting a tragic outcome for both Helena and Petr. The player is guided to this grim scene by perusing a pocket secretary file titled "DATAFILE#1," sold by Kazatel, which triggers the "Shots Fired" point of interest. Although never explicitly stated, it is implied that the criminals involved were affiliated with Drahomír's group. An email on Helena's computer alludes to a "young girl," likely Milena Epstein, who discussed the permit's cost. Within the apartment lies an abstract painting featuring a pair of wings, symbolizing human augmentation, reminiscent of Icarus' mythological flight. Notably, an unused email suggests that Helena and Petr were siblings, a detail not overtly mentioned in-game. In this correspondence, Petr urges Helena to seize the opportunity provided by Jacob's financial assistance to relocate to Rabi'ah.
