Jessika Chvatal and Gustav Apel, along with their supervisor Professor Eugen Weisse, were suspended from Prague State University due to concerns over their nanovirus research. Despite this setback, they continued their work covertly in a secret lab in the Dávný District sewers. However, a mistake in ordering viral biomaterial resulted in them receiving live strains instead of inert ones, posing a serious risk. The presence Of Chvatal’s computer in the lab indicates her continued involvement. Additionally, Weisse maintained a civilian guise near the music box, near the lab's entrance in nighttime Prague. This plot may be a reference to the TV show Breaking Bad. Next to the computer, there is a small blue package similar to the blue sky produced in the TV show, a street name used for a highly potent crystal methamphetamine. The email is addressed to a Jessica, a play on Jesse Pinkman's character. The email has been sent by the professor, referencing Walter White's career as a teacher. Additionally, a man named Gustavo is mentioned in the email, and Gustavo, Gus Fring is the major antagonist in the series, and the periodic table serves as a reference to the Breaking Bad logo [Br][Ba].
At the end of Human Revolution Megan Reed started working on the nanite-virus chimera, probably the gray death. The Nanovirus Chimera is the process for nanoaugmentation.
Cyberpunk 2077 reference: In Watson, there's a side mission titled "The Heisenberg Principle," where you're tasked with dismantling a drug lab producing an illicit street drug named "glitter." If you opt for a stealth approach and reach the basement, you can eavesdrop on two Tiger Claw members conversing about the drug's name. The woman ridicules the name "glitter," while the man expresses frustration, revealing that the intended name was "Neon," but it was already taken. Interestingly, "Neon" is also the name of an illegal street drug in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, causing havoc in Prague. Plus, in Cyberpunk 2077, this quest is titled "The Heisenberg Principle," a reference to the self-proclaimed alias of Walter White from Breaking Bad. This popular TV series was also referenced in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, although not in the Neon mission.
