If i can, i suggest you guys to make the camera move more dynamic / sway while in combat instead of front and center, so that we can see the enemy in front of us a little bit better, especially the one we locked on.. For example : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N5r324rCbp0.html
Okay... Item trees...wep, arm, acc, ect I liked the crafting, and would like more search points, as well. A hotbar might be nice, switching weapons quickly, accompanied by interactive weapon/environment selection... could really break up the map and keep you busy. I wouldn't be afraid to reach into the Mega Man history for inspiration. (Magnet missiles, shadow cutter, search snakes, skull shield...in 3D... yeah) Seriously reflect on MMX Command Mission. There's plenty of information to be extracted from that source, too. I might look into that game, too. Do Not Just Make A Remake! For the love of gaming, man, continue the story. All those resources...,just write a story, stand alone, but plays into the world. Ask for volunteers for the voices... trust. Tron, Cecil (I think, it's been a decade) Rush, Roll (playable, please)...I don't know about grandpa... didn't like the monkey, but he was a good save point. Lol Dang.
I'm literally playing through Mega Man Legends again and thinking about how awesome it would be to see it remastered...then I found this video and my jaw dropped. You guys are doing incredible work!!!
I know I'm saying what would require a miracle here, but it would be even more awesome if there was a Megaman Legends 3! Megaman is still trapped in Elysium.
You know its gonna be a kickass remake when even DGR comments Nah im joking, this remake its godlike, i hope it turns into a full game and that capcom doesnt came with their BS and take it down.
Do you think that megaman legends can have soccer and F1 race mini game? Because I want to put golf it and puzzle environment inside megaman legends. The next best thing i might want are to put as many flip phone related games and rockman dash save the world inside this expansion plan. What do you think?
Wth this is the last place I expected to see you Shane lol. Been watching you since your super early videos, and trained myself alot before retiring from combat sports as my hobby (I has two very bad spine injuries plus surgeries on neck and back). I probably will end up only being able to hit bags and workout, touch sparring if at all. I haven’t visited tour channel since, but gonna go check it now! btw I am so surprised you are a fan of MML series!
Man. Cant tell you how much I appreciate the subtlety on the collectibles. Whenever I see that fan made zelda game also done in unreal I wanna puke bloom
Thanks. There's still so much work to be done on look development. Hopefully when we're done fans will appreciate the effort and attention to detail. We'll have cel-shading and some post process stuff to make it feel more anime inspired. Right now we're still building all the things.
This is nuts I'd donate money to help push this game along. I'd also buy a finished copy 100% when it's done. Project makes me so happy to see you have no idea.... brought to tears.
We have a new build coming in the first of the year. I know it's been a long time since our last update. Hopefully folks will see all the work we've done. I can't accept donations for this project as the IP is owned by Capcom. However, you can donate to the studio for our future projects if you're inclined. Right now it's just myself and one other programmer actively working on this project and our potential future works. The goal is to make games similar to MML for the next generation. You can donate here: ko-fi.com/psychopomp
@@JJChalupnik Amazing, I'm fully impressed with everything I've seen so far. I'm going to repost your work on my Instagram page. Hopefully it will draw some more attention to your work. I'm still so blown away by this project. It was something I've always thought about. To see it being created seriously means the world to me. I know there's other people out there who's hearts this will touch. 🙏🙏💞 Keep it up you and your team.
This is the most underrated megaman series and also my most fav one. Kinda disappoints me how such a fun and adventurous game doesn't reach the world of gaming.
Me: *notices this project exists, fanboy noises and proceeds to watch the video* 14:38 Me: Of course there's no pause menu ye... *pause menu shows up* Me: *surprised noises* :O IT HAS ALREADY A PAUSE MENU!! Dude! Everything in the game looks really awesome! It's been almost 10 years since I played MML1 and 2 and never had news about another game from these series :c But now I got nostalgic sensations by seing this proyect, and I got Hyped again about the MML series thanks to you! I really hope you can achieve finishing the entire game in the future, dont give up! There's a lot people whos love these kind of stuff (including me), I know it's hard (since I have almost 2 years being part of a teamgame, I understand the hardwork behind) and for that I really wish you good luck and sent to you cheers! :D
Wow i love it. Legends was my favorite action rpg on ps1. I was actually looking to buy mmx4 at the time, but could not find it. I ended up getting legends instead.
I am absolutely floored. That was amazing to watch. I am constantly amazed at how far gaming has come. This looks brilliant and I hope you guys have had more fun than struggle making this. Thank you for working so hard on this. I look forward to watching your progress. KEEP WORKING HARD AND I THANK THIS DEV TEAM!
@@davidjellofox Not to ham it up. But this game is seriously my favorite game of my childhood, if not all time. Seeing Megaman Legends was something I always wanted to see done in UR engine. I appreciate your hard work, love, and dedication towards working on something that means lots to many others. Take care of yourselves!
@@zarthus2623 Not to Ham it up but the Megaman Legends is number two on of my all time favorites list, Blaster Master Takes all time favorite game. Since Blaster Master was recently shown love by Inti Creates I have to do my part to see that Megaman Legends gets the attention it deserves.
@@drbrankenstein I owned it, and have a copy to this day. I'm looking forward to hopefully more games in the series as Blaster Master zero 1 and 2 were a lot of fun.
I can’t tell you how happy this made me, I thought the legends series was all but forgotten, I’m glad to see I was wrong people still love and remember this. And This looks amazing so far.
Very impressive. I love how there's genuine cel-shading going on here in a very subtle manner. Really fits the style you seem to be going for, though I feel it would've been super easy to overdo, so kudos. Volnutt's character model, as well as those of the enemies are also mighty impressive. I only have three points of criticism, which I make tentatively, due to this still being a prototype. The first is that I feel the charge shot does too little damage for the build-up. It didn't really save any time in destroying those crates, as an example. It should probably have enough power to take each of those out in one shot, assuming it's fully charged. The second issue I see is that there should probably be a special type of Zenny that's dropped by defeated bosses (one that doesn't disappear), since it seemed to me the player doesn't have any time to rest after the fight before they're tasked with picking everything up (this was a problem in the original game as well, so I'm suggesting it as a general improvement). The final bit is I think the color palette should be a little more saturated, to better fit the vibrant colors of the OG game. Not as saturated, but closer. That's it, though. I'm definitely going to be keeping tabs on this project.
Holy shit dude. I'm so proud of you all. First video I saw pulling up megaman legends. I fairly new using UE4, but man have you inspired me to keep going.
Just replayed Legends 1 after almost a decade and loved it as much as I remember. I kept telling my gf that this game would be a perfect 10/10 if it had updated controls and graphics that maintains the lovable style it has. Now here we are! Good stuff man this looks amazing I hope everything is going well!
it's such a lovable game even though it didn't get much popularity at its start. I can't wait to see where you take this project and I hope to assist in its success.
Fans; megaman legends remake? Capcom: nnnnnnno Fans; fine if you aren’t going to do it then we will do it ourselves Capcom: NO! OUR IP! *smash the project with a hammer fast a few times* Fans: *sir pelo scream* AAAAAAAH!
Again, wow. I probably should have done a reaction video to it lol. I love MML, and I am a game designer (with a tad of experience with Maya mixed in), so I can see the love in the game. I know this video is almost a year old, but I still hope to see more of this.
Still working on the next build. Not as far as we'd like to be in a years time but there are some pretty substantial updates to expect. Thanks for the kind words. Its been a bit cathartic for me because MML was one of the games that made me want to make games.
Thank you for all the hard work! These assets are so critical to getting a good feel for the environment and I'm stoked for all the work you're doing in the Mirumijee room. Seems like folks are pretty excited to see where we continue to shape it.
Sorry we won't be making the full version unless Capcom is like.... "here... have some money" We will be doing a lot more with this initial demo though, so stay tuned for updates. We keep kicking the can down the road on releasing an update because we keep making fixes and improvements.
I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of this until right now. I’ve been lamenting the loss of legends 3 since the night the prototype was canned. You guys are absolute units! Thanks for all your work!
YOU GUYS ARE DOING GOD'S WORK. I was born in '91 and I've been wishing for a new Legends Game for like 20 years now, I'm so happy to see you guys working on this project, and doing such an amazing job
Hi, what a nice work. I downloaded the build in the link found in the description but I can't find what is the key to fire the normal buster, will you please help me with this? thanks.
Thanks for downloading! Megaman can show or hide his buster. The demo is best played on a gamepad like an Xbox controller. The left D-pad will enable or disable his buster
While I'm not too big of a fan of the realistic style you seem to be going for, the love and work you've put into this is incredible, and I can't wait to see how this project progresses.
It wont be 'that' realistic when it is finished. Most of the shader work has not been addressed at all, and the environments are all basically temp with the exception of the exterior tower model. Even that needs some tweaks. I wouldn't rule out the style just yet. It's barely been touched. Also the lighting is completely temp. There is so much infrastructure that must be made first before the art can really take off. Right now I'm working on the Hanmuru Doll and everything that will go into that model and rig. Its a lot of work for that, but when that is finished, you'll start to see a lot more environment art and shader work with the characters. Hopefully this will bring out a style that people will enjoy. Maybe I'll put out a poll once I get a style I'm satisfied with. Thanks for your comment! I hope you'll enjoy the look when it's finished!
part of the charm of MML is the graphics, they made blocky wireframing work and printed animations was cool. without it im afraid it doesnt feel the same
That's fair. Hopefully when we are done you'll find it works. Unfortunately it will be impossible to satisfy everyone. There is still a ton of work that needs to be dont visually, so I wouldn't judge this too harshly yet.
Wow this looks great and he can do a charge shot! 😆 man that's so cool! With Elon musk saying that the world is a simulation maybe they stopped the 3rd game from coming out bc it's too real for us carbons to understand lol
I got goosebumps when I saw this in my recommended videos. The Legends series is my all-time favorite. I still play these in an emulator from time to time. I'm looking forward on the completion of this project. I will definitely purchase this even if my current pc cannot run this yet. More power guys!
Its Free and will always be free! Unless capcom decides to subcontract to us to finish the whole thing. Stay tuned too because we have lots of content we are planning. Including downloadable assets and tutorials. If you're open to playing the demo in the video I'd love the feedback. Link is in the description. Cheers!
@@JJChalupnik Hey man, I tried to run it on my potato PC and I was able to play smoothly on medium setting while high is quite playable but frame rate significantly dropped. Anyway, you may have already noticed some of these but here's several stuff I picked upon from the play-through. -walking on the stairs animation looks like skipping frames. -that crevice in front of the refractor is really deep. -I'm looking forward on the kick application on the said bombs like in the original version. -I wasn't able to utilize the right tumble and I can't find the key so I can walk or strafe sideways. How were you able to that in the demo? -the other end of the bridge seems to have object misalignment, -lighting seems to darken when shooting while facing in a dimly lit portion of a room. -Mirumijee (worms) lack aggression. I think this will be adjusted as this project progresses. -you can get kicked off the map when you run towards the left most side of the elevator's fence. You can also pass through it if you run towards the center of that same fence. -if you jump towards the bars at a certain point, you can pass through or get stuck at it in the worm's room. -I assume you will be adding the ledge grabbing function. -at a certain point or angle, when you run towards the vertical pipes (T-pipe) in the corridors, sometimes you get teleported above it and get stuck. -I hope you can also apply hit box for the Cannam's legs not just the body. on the other hand -the models are ever faithful to the original design yet very polished. -the hand-to-buster transition is an awesome touch. I've been bashing the B button for a while just to watch that over and over. -the buster charge is a great add-on. Just like Mega Man in the platformer series. -the light trail for the buster shots is a nice touch. -I like how the hair flows relative to the motion. -the lighting effect when kicking reaverbots, man that's very metal hahahaha. -the physics applied on the Zakobon bombs when hitting each other is very impressive. -the aesthetic and lighting combination makes it feel eerie for me. good vibe for ruins. -audio is very nostalgic too. from the sound effects to the BGM. It adds to the eeriness. -it would be a great ease if Mega Man would automatically face the target upon shooting when locked-on. -one last thing, can you add a feature where you get to kick the birds? :v I may have missed some points, but I'm really excited towards the completion of this project. Thank you very much for this. I wish you guys could make a fan game for the post MML2 events. Hope to see more from your team.
I mean this just looks amazing. I mean if only we had a mega man legends 3 that looked like this. capcom always messin up. They need to hire these talented designers and stop trying to make trash versions of what they make and still try to sell their shit
Thanks for your comment. Lighting is not even remotely finished. There will be a more balanced and cinematic approach to the lighting in future releases.
Thats requires a complicated answer. Its a reimagining of the original through a modern lens. We have modernized the controls and added many quality of life type improvements to the original design. The focus of this project is just the original dungeon, but fully featured with bookend cutscenes. There will be lots of extras as well, like the balloon fantasy mini game and the ability to explore a rough build of kattelox island. Every asset will also become publicly available eventually, so fans can use it to make their own content. My focus is a feature rich opening dungeon of the game. Possibly to be used as a pitch to Capcom but also as a calling card portfolio piece. After that, I have some original titles I want to work on and build Kickstarters for
I just hope that this version of megaman comes back to life it is and all ways will be a loved game and if it was on all devices that would be a day to see
@@vrizzi91 we have a great functional build now. Currently I'm adding a bunch of env art assets in before making this build public. In the description you can download and play the build in the video. For the new one you'll have to wait a little longer unfortunately
@@vrizzi91 more to come but we will be making our discord public, which will be a great source for more info. This channel on YT will host a lot of content, and there's a sketchup page where you can see which assets have gone public and download content for your own projects.
@@ThisGuysUserName Planning an update by the end of the year. There will be missing things and bugs, but at least we'll finally update everyone on the stuff we've done.
😭😭😭😭😭 My childhood came rushing back to me. I always go back to this game and play it every year. It never gets old. I hope this project pulls through.
It's mainly 2 - 4 people working on it in their free time, with no financial incentive so there really isn't an official release date. We just work on it and try to make it better with each build. Hoping for a more complete build by end of year. But this will only include the opening dungeon. Thanks for your comment!
Still working on our next build release. Finally got our 1st pass of the Hanmuru Doll in the game. So all Reaverbots are now combat ready. They still need polish though.

@@JJChalupnik I think about hud system back in the days , it would seems quite simple. But not to me because several things like i don't like how armor meter is displayed in taking damage or how the map can't have north highlights. And when the armor are taking damage, i was hoping a some kind of vfx that showing it was critical or imminent using percentage and electric discharge effect. Don't get me wrong,i do like the animations about armor meter exposed the red light inside. The same goes for environmental damage and such. Another thing i could think of are dual Lock-on if use special weapons. That's All i could think of. Thank you again for your innovation.
Its a little rough around the edges but hot damn its really incredible the lengths fans will go when the actual developers won't deliver. Sadly with the re-using of official game audio will likely get this game a cease and desist long before it has a chance but all the same it would be great if a project like this were to be finished. Great job to the team involved
Yooo I was litteraly saying 15 minutes ago how mega man legends / 64 would make a good remaster with better movement controls I hope this goes far, good work
I played this so much as kid, loved it so much man. Never got to play the second. But man this is beautiful it really is nostalgic seeing this, I love it. Your doing a great job and everything looks great.
omg this was my favorite game of mega man to play when i was younger. now to see a newer updated version really makes me happy, we need more good news this year.
