Discover yourself by watching Development. This is the story of a desperate filmmaker who finally finds herself. With this film, I'll try to show you something about the meaning of life, materialism, mental health and thus actually society in general.
My short film is about an unsuccessful 18-year-old filmmaker. She still lives with her parents, but they're always away from home. The people around her do not support her interest, making her feel like society has turned against her. She feels lonely and inferior. In the beginning she is locked in her bedroom, desperately trying to get some work done. She doesn't really know what to do and wanders around in her bedroom, but when she turns off her television, something changes. She goes outside and realizes that it seems like everyone has disappeared. Outside she begins to wander around hoping to find something (herself). She actively searches for herself but doesn't really realize it at first because she just wanders around, thinking about life. All of a sudden she finds a Super-8 camera. When she starts using it, everything becomes clear.
