You have to realize Toni that is one speaker. Most 'loud' home theaters have 5 to 9 speakers and a sub. I would say for a single speaker, that is remarkably loud. Perhaps what you are not hearing as 'loud' is the fact that increasing the volume doesn't change the character of the music, just makes it louder. Inferior amplifiers will begin to distort, and inferior speakers will begin to break up as the signal increases and we tend to associate that tinny, distorted sound as 'loud'. The fact that a single one of those is the equivalent loudness to an open air DJ booth is incredible.
Subparanon That is soo damn true! Great comment! I have a Jbl Xtreme and a Harman Kardon Go+Play and first i thought the Jbl Xtreme was louder but it was just the fact that the Harman Kardon Go+Play still sounded full and the quality of the music barely changed while the Xtreme gets real thin and forced sounding at maximum and the Harman Kardon is also slightly louder than the Xtreme.
Speaker Toni $800 isn't exactly cheap (in pro audio, it's the price per monitor, not per pair), although of course there is much more expensive. If you want to get to the price of the Devialet, you have Event Opals, Neumann KH310, Focal Twin6Be or even ATC for amplified monitors. But then you would compare a pair of Phantoms to a pair of monitors.
+Blox117 I mean it is overpriced and there are some systems which sound better for this size. But the phantom still sounds better and more interesting than most monitors in this price segment.
Thank you so much for all these videos. I'm considering buying the Phantom Gold and seeing the Silver in all these different settings is enormously helpful. Thanks again!
Do you need a roommate? I simply love your space, so peaceful and beautiful. I have a massive snow white Anatolian name Kalei and he'd love to protect the area as well:)
Honestly to me it dont matter how loud a speaker is what matters is how good it sounds anyone can build speakers that are insanely loud and sound terrible and the only real way to know how the sound quality is is to hear it in real life but sure the volume is surely impressive
Devaliet are obsessed with high quality audio reproduction. TBH this guy is missing the point by showing us "how loud it is". The only reason it's able to do that is because Devaliet want us to be able to enjoy huge dynamic range in music without speaker or amplifier limitations ruining it. The resolution and clarity on these things is astonishing, and in a stereo pair, they image gorgeously.
Wıe kommst uberhaupt zu Devıalet Phantom ın Polen? Das Ambiente wo du den highend ls austestest, passt wie Faust aufs Auge in die Landschhaft? Bestimmt Stolen!
No offence man , but when I first heard your voice , i though it was an old lady doing the video , until I saw your reflection. Nice video though , and great selection of songs !
Hey @speakertoni ! Great video! Can you please tell me the name of the songs and artist you use in the video, in order of appearance? That would be VERY much appreciated! Cheers!
The first one is by Jonathan fritzen "feeling the groove", the second one is G-Lounge "Disceaux" and the last one which I've used indoors is called "Analog" by solepersona.
Ok I'm confused at the 14:00 plus mark. U didn't compare the phantom to the to black speakers right? The phantom and the square speaker on the floor was what u compared only right? U started with the phantom first, then the square speaker on the floor right? If all that is true, the small square speaker on the floor sounded much louder than the phantom. I don't know why u didn't compare them at equal volume each time.
Why didnt the phantom sound loud at first? Please answer me. I just got a gold phantom and i feel the same way as you did, that it was loud but not loud like it should be. How did you make the phantom louder?
I think they mean equivalent to 3000 watt performance. Although I'm not sure what they use as assessment criteria for that. It uses proprietary technology to render sound in novel ways so it may have a way of making good on the claims in one way or another but I am still not convinced that it would be the same as an actual 3000 watt output. Still The loudness and performance without distortion sound impressive. And it sounds like it has a wide (deep and high) frequency response which is nice. The price and the fact that each component is sold separately is a cause for not getting as many customers as they would have otherwise I am sure. I also heard that their are some app limitations with "cross platform compatibility" and feature limits. But I am not sure about the details. Many times these things come with proprietary apps that have a lack of some features which are regrettable considering the price and that may not be remedied with new program updates as much as the buyer may like. But if I was absurdly rich I may consider them for purchase.
lol u do know that a 3dB increase of music volume takes TWICE the power? to produce 103dB of sound pressure takes 2x as much as producing 100dB pressure. this does not mean 2x as loud, but it is definitely a very noticable difference. for example if you have a 1000watt RMS 18 inch subwoofer, the difference between giving it 'only' 500watts or 1000watts of power from your amp is 3dB difference in sound pressure.
can you adjust the volume on the device itself or do you need a phone or tablet to do that? What kind of economic lifespan can i expect from this product. 7 to 10 years?
Speaker Toni Hi Toni. So do you think the build quality of this speaker is good enough to last 10 years or more? That would justify the price of me. Cheers.
alter3go yes of course but you have to be sooo careful with these drivers! I already have 3 dents in them and I always carry it in the bag by devialet. I mean the dents won't affect the sound in any way but they will look stupid and people will ask you: what the hell have you done to your crazy expensive speaker.. Other speakers will also last for 10 years or longer. Before you buy anything wait for my quick comparison where I'am comparing my hi fi system against the phantom. Then you can decide which one you prefer or what you want to buy:-)
Piotr Osinski oh wow then you will be a lucky man;-) But maybe I won't buy it. Just after I ordered my silver phantom and showed them to some hi-fi enthusiasts they said "Have a listen to our system" Then I sat down and had a listen. I had to notice immediately that this system for 1500$ was much better than my phantom. So I would recommend for everyone who wants to buy a phantom that he rather should go to a nice shop and then have a listen to a nice small stereo system for 5k. This almost how much 2 gold phantoms will cost. And trust me it will sound a lot better! Also I don't think that the gold will be so much better than the silver. 4500 watts out of a digital amplifier really isn't something special. It would be easy to get like 7000 watts out of it. Also the differences between the white phantom and the silver one a so small that you can't notice any differences. Maybe at a 100% side by side. But like I've already said you should rather get a really good stereo system for 5k then 2 gold phantoms!
Wait a min, Wait a min....... this is the silver version and ur hearing it as if its a much bigger professional speaker, I am dying to hear the gold version in person, 4500 watts!!!!! #DAMN 😳😳
But the 4.5kW are Peak, RMS might be around 1kW (Typical household Appliance can give in 220V regions 1.5kW, in 110V 1kW of power, or 1.2). ^^ Still Impressive as hell. ^^
Well that explains it. By the way, a few tips for your listening room. Your wall diffusers benefit from being offset, not a matching linear panel. If you can adjust the depth of the cubes, randomize them. Their function is to disrupt standing waves from reflections and if they all match it's nearly the same as none at all. Some guys that engineered pArtScience taught me about it. Also, for the ceiling, suspended damping panels mounted at odd angles are very effective.
Devialet told me spark no longer works with my Phantom because i have DOS 2. They said it only works with DOS 1. DOS 2 only works with an app called devialet app, not spark.
