Thanks to Kadaj158 for making a request. Extended Version of Beowulf Battle Theme from DMC3. Hope you'll like it... P.S - Choose 720p for the best effects...
I dont even remember this theme, mainly because of the panic of dealing with him at the time. And the fear that struck everytime he screamed "SPARDAAA" and shot his wings at you
Royal Guard makes this fight too easy. Guard-canceled Spiral shots will pierce through the cages, and his three hit combo is food for your Release. At level three, his projectiles heal you.
And honestly we have Dante to blame for that. He talks so much shit before the fight, the bosses don't give a damn, they just come out swinging and breaking stuff to get to you 😂😂😂😂
Dante (to Beowulf): Oh you poor thing, didn't your Mother teaches you how to use the door? (says the guy who kicked the door on his own shop few missions ago)
@@wubbawubba3396 Those Devil Trigger designs are what Capcom got in exchange for letting Atlus use Dante in SMT3: Nocturne. No idea who approached who first, but it's safe to say it worked out great for both parties.
@@melvinshine9841 Yea, it was gr8. The smt artist had some amazing ideas, I which he would make more DDS/DMC3 type designs, but I feel like that would be impossible, or very unlikely for DMC rn.
@@an_ordinary_goose Though you do hear a slight sample of the theme before you fight King Cerberus. It's brief unfortunately though the main boss theme is pretty good on its own~
This guy is such a bitch on DMD it's ridiculous. Actually most of the bosses are for that matter. Jester 3 and definitely Time Horse are arguably even worse in a lot of ways.
I mostly had royalguard throughout the fight so it wasn't too hard for me. *But when he yells "SPARDA!!!" and starts throwing those white wings shit at me twice in a row, I nearly flung my controller at the wall*
Thefourthdimensional Me: Is he doing his dash attack? *Beowulf throws his feathers* Me: You litlle ... *dashes forward with everything I got. and hides behind his back* Me: Now your feathers can´t hit me! Beowulf: Sparda!!! *light pillar rocks out of the ground* Me: You ******** piece of ****** Game: Wanna spend a golden Orb?
+ZombryaTheDark Play some more bro. i got hd collection and praying each and every day for a remastered DMC 3. The one and truly only Devil May Cry. All others just have the names and some of the characters but DMC3 > all
...It's very satisfying to know that even after so many years have passed in universe, the strength of the Temen-Ni-Gru's most powerful guardian hasn't been forgotten :)
@@arunavgogoi2696 Characters like Eric still count as Power Rangers. As opposed to characters like Magna Defender from Lost Galaxy and the Wolf Warrior from Mystic Force. Since they don't have "Ranger" in their name, didn't get their powers from the same source as the other Rangers, and have different styled uniforms as opposed to the rest of the team. Meanwhile Eric still counts because he has "Ranger" in his name, got his powers from the same kind of source, and has a similar outfit to the rest of the team, specifically the team's Red Ranger for reasons that should be obvious just by looking at them. (Unless you were asking them if that's what they meant by "a Power Ranger," in which case this lesson is pointless and I apologize.)
You got nothin' and nothin's got you I can see your fear surround you Built with strife and insight, but it's not enough I'll defeat and discreet your every move This instinct you dwell will just take your life One step one breath you're on my knife Killing slow is the way I conquer Torture test can't wait no longer With your first step you will burn Can't control the hate you've learned Killing slow is the way I conquer until you know the meaning of suffer
Step twice you invite and you welcome death Pay homage to me with your last breath Say goodbye to a life that you once knew Along with every being that was before you!
This fight made me realise something: the songs with lyrics are not the bosses thoughts towards Dante butr Dante's thoughts towards the boss! The part that caught my attention was "Built up strife inside but it's not enough. I'll defeat and discrete your every move." Dante isn't full at strife, he's having a kick ass time! Add to that Beowulf is looking to avenge his fallen comrades, full of hate towards Sparda and his kin. Dante isn't slow. He's a master swordsman. How could Beowulf "defeat and discrete" his every move? The next parts, "Instinctual, just take your life, one step one breath you're under my knife." Show us Dante's inner demon and skill with the blade. He never had a teacher, his mastery is an inheritance from Sparta, an instinct. We can also see that Dante is quick as a flash. In one step, one breath, he closes the distance on his foes. This goes on for the entire song but it's the ending verses that really cemented this for me. "Step twice you invite an unwelcome death. Pay homage to me with you're last breath. Say goodbye to the life that you once knew, along with every being that was before you!" The "second step is the enemy attacking Dante believing they can best him; they have sealed their fate. In a lot of fights, even before DMC3, the bosses last words have something to do with Dante. The only one I remember off the top of my head is Phantom and how he remarked that Dante was Sparda. In DMC3, all the gatekeepers give Dante a complement, Cerberus acknowledges his worthiness, Agni and Rudra appraise his skill, Nevan his looks, and even Doppelganger and Gerion give him gifts upon defeat, saying goodbye to the lives that they once knew, along with the other beings before them that dared challenge Dante. The bosses don't have themes, Dante does!!!
*plays devil may cry 3, having a good time* Beowulf: *Drops into the room in front of dante* "HOW DARE YOU HAVE FUN!?!?!" Dante:"who the hell are yo-" Beowulf: *Soaring bitchslap* "I'M THE FUCKING ANTI-FUN BRIGADE IS WHO THE HELL I AM!! NOW WHERE'S SPARDA?!?!" Dante: "the hell does my old man have to do with anything?" Beowulf: *Flying bitchslap* "HE HAD FUN WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!! NOW SHUTUP AND GO TO YOUR CORNER!!!" *explosions of light and doom intensify* me holding the broken controller: "the hell was that?"
*Ten minutes later* Beowulf: *drops into the room* Vergil: "and you are?" Beowulf: "THE ANTI-FUN BRIGADE!! I CAUGHT WHIFF OF SOMEONE HAVING FUN!" *Soaring bitchslap* *Misses* Vergil: "What a shocking coincidence..." *as he's sheathing yamato* "I'm the CAPTAIN of the anti-fun brigade.." Beowulf: "Oh.....well damn...." *face falls apart* Vergil: *with gauntlets* "NOW TO HAVE SOME FUN BY SHORYUKENING THIS CORPSE!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!"
Where the Cerberus theme was much more loud and in your face, not only befitting the first true boss of the game, and his fierce dedication to guarding the entrance to the Temen-Ni-Gru, but it also fits Dante’s nature to be boastful, yet still get the job done. This? This is the complete opposite. This one’s much slower and methodical, befitting not only the fact that Beowulf doesn’t care about “protecting the gateway”, but also the fact that he wants to butcher our favourite red-coated half-devil where he stands. It also befits Vergil in a sense, with the fact he’s much more cool headed, efficient, and much quicker in killing his enemies. Fittingly, Dante receives Cerberus’ Devil Arm right away, where in the case of Beowulf, his Devil Arm lands in the hands of the much more stoic brother first, then gets passed to Dante later. So in a way, this version of Suffer is like the Vergil mix, to Cerberus’ Dante mix of the song.
Interesting, never thought this way. Beowulf!Suffer also has a more techno vibe compared to Cerberus!Suffer's metal feel, mirroring Dante's fast-paced metal Taste the Blood and Vergil's slower+ techno remix.
I played dmc3 when I was pretty young, and as a kid this boss was borderline impossible for 11 year old me. it was so long ago that I used to play this game I don't remember the struggle the same way anymore. since then I have beaten the game dozens of times over and now every boss, every challenge just becomes muscle memory. Dmc stands the test of time and every game just lets you earn skill like no other game I've played...
It's really funny how the game's so hard until you learn it. I like how games could work out like that, too; it took me about ten attempts, and each attempt, I learned something about him, and got further each time with that combined knowledge. what happened to the games where you learned
Devs started thinking we're all idiots and that we need to have our hand held throughout every bit of a god damn game. Honestly one of the largest reasons Dark Souls and the original Devil May Cry trilogy got so much praise is because they really don't hold your hand they just go "here's a boss fight HAVE FUN! :D" and not give you a fucking clue about how to fight it and i LOVE that. Now games either tell you right off the bat how to fight a boss or gives it shiny glowing weak spots where it's obvious you have to hit making it a lot easier and a lot less fun.
Ōrrion , it's a good thing a handful of devs still make games for people whose opinions correlate with being more intelligent and preferring to learn how to beat a game, instead of having the winning factor spoon fed like that majority.
@@adnaneazami920 Yeah, he wasn't so hard but, I meant to kill him without damage in order to obtain SS rank. That's the real big deal. What a pain in the ass.

The fact both Reuben and Daniel were both red rangers is coincidental, the main difference being that the quantum ranger(Daniel's ranger) had a crave for quantum power

@@nathankwan6570 You can hear the music paused, yes. But I was saying that the OP was probably lying when they said they dodged to hear the song, especially considering how loud **Beowulf is.
Just a Reminder, DMC3 received alot of Attention, one of the Reason is Weapon DT, where each Weapon has its own Effect on Dante or Vergil's DT, in here we are shown the Weapon DT of Beowulf on Dante and Vergil, its also worth to Note Agni and Rudra also has a Weapon DT, changing Dante's DT Design into a Different Shape
Well I wouldn't say "nothing really good". You're right that Dante is allround-Talent, but I think the key difference between him and Vergil (Based on how I've found thier play styles to be) is that Vergil calculates his attacks and uses more strategy, while Dante pretty much spams his attacks. I makes sense, again gameplay wise, since Vergil's attacks dish out more dammage but only has a limited regular attack chain, While Dante's attack chains are longer but each attack is weaker.
Cerberus' theme made more sense since it was the beginning of the game BEFORE you obtained any weapons and abilities. So why did Beowulf have a revamp of the same theme? By this time, you had plenty of items obtained.
Yeah, but he still had his sword, guns and his natural abilities, so it's not like he really had "nothing". I don't think the song needs to necessarily be interpreted literally for cerberus or beowulf, but it's more like they're both powerful, fearsome enemies and this theme suits that vibe imo.
@@anotherhumanbeing3300 I said Normal Dt, Vergil still has too but he doesn't prefer it now as he have SDt. Dante's Normal Dt has fast regeneration, buff defense, a chance to not get stun while getting hit, buff attack for every weapon and buff to other style. Now the devil arm needs Dante's demonic energy instead of vice versa.
imagine king beowulf devil arm on vergil. it just makes sense because it's the only devil arm that isn't a sparda momento that he acquired. Will be the first and last. Alpha and omega
I just fought this guy, first time playing DMC 3, and fuck it took me forever!! This guy just keeps applying the pressure, even when you hit his eyes, he still takes swings at you! I hadn't been that stumped since I fought Agni & Rudra! I was about to quit for the day after one last try, idk what came over me, but my dodging and attacks were so on point that I almost no damaged him XD thank you sky star!
You know, there's actually a slow version of Suffer but I think it's just the regular version with the game slowing the tempo and lowering the pitch, rather than a separate file.
Yeah, I was referring to a third version that isn't on the OST. There's the one that plays against Cerberus, this one for Beowulf, and a third version. It plays during your rematch with Cerberus in hell. (when you have to refight bosses to open up the next path) It essentially sounds like a slowed down version of the Cerberus version. I can't remember right off but iirc, the slowed down version doesn't play in Vergil's game;just in dante's.
glitchhunter09 it's most likely on the file but unreleased as an OST. (I haven't checked tho). Game devs don't like their games doing extra work unless necessary. So a resampled soundtrack would be pre-generated and stored in a file.
Best way to deal with Beowulf for me is Agni and Rudra. Spam them on his eyes and be wary of his swinging. Do it until he goes to "phase 2". Use Swordmaster style to fling rebellion on the cages when he throws them at you to knock them back at him. Dodge his lunging attacks as best you can. Slash at his eyes as much as possible. "Phase 3" get behind him when he uses his feather attack. It won't hit you. Continue anticipating his random attacks. Spam slash his eyes, you win.
How many people prefer this version of Suffer to the Cerberus version? They both are pretty close, but I feel like this one is just the right speed to enhance the vibe of the duel between you and Beowulf.
Awesome song. It has so much energy to it, and I love the slow buildup at the beginning? But I have on question: WHen I downloaded the file, it was categorized "BLUES" under the genre box. What on earth?!
